@ejoslin, don't know about mods as I can't play on PC atm (rubbish PC) what is the mod? And kudos btw, I can't do it. I have to have a back up save at Redcliffe so I can redo for a happy ending.. *is weak*
@Corker.... poor Lorelei and poor Zev.... :'(
ETA - Is there a top of the page rule? If so...............

My Ultimate Sacrifice was a male mage who romanced Morrigan and Zevran. He had to break up with Zevran in the end but they remained friends afterwards. My Epilogue said something about Zevran joining the crows and never loving even though they weren't in love any more.

I'm actually not-so-glad about this cameo. I have my theories on this, and it changes my head-canon once again! But... we will see!

I'm so torn. I did cancel my preorder over the DRM thing (which has been since changed to a more acceptable one). I'm not that excited over the game itself, but I know that what happens will be all over the place, and do I really want to find out before I play it? OTOH, $60 is a lot of money I think (maybe I'm old fashioned) and while it's a reasonable price for a game, I normally don't buy games while they're full price.

There aren't many games that are release day must haves for me, I tend to wait til they drop a bit :) But I am really looking forward to DA II at least we know Gaider loves Zev, right? So he shouldn't have Ashley/Kaidan syndrome (cos Liara is Hudson's fave... <_<) I am optimistic that Gaider wouldn't allow the de-Zevranising of Zev and if he has allowed it, well they can't take DA:O away from us................... can they?

David Gaider does not like happy endings.  Just remember that!  Zevran 10 years later has the potential to be interesting, but I have REALLY bad feelings about this.

I hope I'm completely wrong.

I'm not sure why I care so much.  This is BW playground and I can choose whether to play in it or not.  But I just liked Zevran so much, I really do have an emotional investment here.

I described you in a private message what happens in the quest cameo. As best as I could, I tried to remember some dialogue lines too.

As I said, keep in mind he was using a save in which the Warden didn't romance Zev. As soon as my game arrives, I will import my save and let you know if you so wish.

A quick question for my fellow Zevranites. I'm about to complete my third full playthrough of DA:O, this time with a Male Human Noble. Let's say that I'd choose to marry Anora. Is the conversation with Zevran about the upcoming marriage any good? Does the romance still continue in a satisfying way?

Thanks :)

I like the discussion. It's different if your warden and Zevran have made love or not, but i think it's very sweet and touching. And the romance can continue, but it doesn't have to. There is a circumstance where Zevran will break up with the warden (and it's right that he does), there are a couple of breakup lines for the warden (one of them leads to a response so sweet it makes me cry on top of the breakup crying), but things don't usually have to end.

Thanks ejoslin!

My Warden and Zevran are in fully in love, with Zev proposing with the earring and such. I'd really hate if marrying Anora will break them up ;) Maybe I'll just try the conversation and then reload before the Landsmeet ;)

Oh, no, you'll be fine. That's not the circumstance where Zevran will end it (believe me, when it ends it, it makes total sense).

And when it ends, it is so heartbreaking :(

He is so selfless after all, even if he doesn't show it. I saw the scene just once but I was marrying Alistair (not even romancing him, but apparently he is fine with it). And if I am not wrong, you have no approval loss in this case. Zev is just so wonderful :(

I never had to heart to break relationship after he is in love, I saw the dialogue just once to try, and noticed the HUGE approval loss. He take it worst than any other.

I've never been able to break Zev's heart either...I've also yet allowed my warden to die. I really do have to do a US ending.

I have them up!  This is with a Queen CousCous, but for a King CousCous, they're very similar.

Ok, breakups!

Zevran breaks it off (you'll only get this if you've been just casually flirting)
The warden breaks it off (the nicer dialog choice)

Ok, happy endings!
If the warden and Zevran have been to the tent.
If the warden and Zevran have not made love.

I really don't think Zevran sounds very happy about the arrangement, however.

No, it doesn't sound happy at all. It's more like he is trying to make it easy for you. Even his "assassination jokes" are more a way to cut the discussion and ease the tension. To be honest, I think he would just back off slowly either way, especially if you are marrying with Alistair. Or at least that is what I imagine. Speaking of Anora, probably he wouldn't care that much...but I don't know, with Alistair it seems different to me...

Ah, the dialogs with a HNM and HNF are almost exactly the same. The opening line is a bit different obviously. In the notes, it says he's happy if they don't break up, and it makes note in the non-sex version that he really loves the warden a lot.

But he just doesn't sound happy to me that the warden is marrying someone else.

Oooh, thanks, I'll watch those when I can have sound on my laptop (my youngest is still sleeping...)
As for that ^ :crying: I will never hurt him again.......

Well yes, the thing with Alistair I said is mostly just my speculation. The problem is that I assume they somehow become friends, and Alistair even if not romanced is always kind and really cares about the Warden (no Loghain, of course). In these scenario, or the three lived happily ever after as friends...or I odn't know, it just seems a bit awkward to me. I wouldn't do it to Zev, that's for sure :\\
In Anora's case, there are really no feelings involved...so I guess it would hurt less even for him, I mean it is more obvious that even if you marry her it is just a political arrangement and you don't care at all about her (while you care for Alistair).

Yeh, but Zevran is a pragmatist.  How I see it is this.  He understands a political marriage.  It's why there's no approval loss if you break up with him there if you take the nice answer as well; he's not sorry to break up under those circumstances.  He really wants what is best for the warden, and becoming king/queen -- he gets it.  His concern is having an elven lover on the side may make things more difficult for the warden and he wants things to go well for him/her.

While it's a bit more difficult, it is possible for Alistair to marry a warden who is hostile to him (he has to be hardened to marry a hostile warden, but having him hostile after hardening him is not the most simple matter).  Even at higher approvals, though, you can tell him it's just an arrangement and that you're going to be trying to have an heir with someone else.

It's one thing I like about DAO, though, the possibility to interpret these things are endless.

He certainly is one of the most complicated and fleshed out characters in the game, that's for sure....

ETA - I realise that this is a short comment ^ I was feeling really (still am tbh)  miffed about my DA II order which has been complicated by the gamestore I purchased from implementing a new security system that messed up countless orders..............  And now I don't know if I will get my Signature Edition...
Any happy Zev pics to cheer a girl up?

Happy Zev pic? Well, it's a day late for Mardi Gras, but here's Payroo's rendition of Zev and my Warden at Satinalia in Antiva City.

Jenovan, I've ALWAYS loved that artwork!!!!

I got my copy of DA2 today... haven't played it yet, cause there's too many people home/awake/using the TV the PS3 is hooked up to. Will play it tonight....

EA haven't even emailed me to say if DAII has been dispatched so I guess that means a Friday arrival isn't going to happen. Getting quite rannoyed about hte later UK release date now - I missed the boat big time on Origins and I'm now behind all the people that can already play DAII :( Working on Awakening though, but missing Zevran badly, Alistair too since my character is his wife. I have now got attached to Anders and somehow Varel!

Varel is... special.  I don't know what it is about him.  He's probably the only character in Awakening I got really attached to.

My Xbox version will hopefully dispatch tomorrow, but I won't see it in a week probably...My brother wanted to buy the PC version, so I kinda "forced" him to buy a digital delivery to make it faster (and cheaper, buying 2 times DA2 it's already crazy as it is).

I can't wait to import my save, I'll rush the first playthrough just to see what happens with a romanced Zev.
I'll create a mage Hawke, just like my Warden was in that save...

I love the cheerful colours of that image!

About Varel...I think it is because he is like the only sane person in that mess, and he has some sense of humor  . Though it scared the hell outta me when he did the ritual...he has a scary look, those eyes o_O

I am just hoping that I get mine at all now......
I had it pre ordered since Oct, and for Gamestation to mess up like this at this point is really disappointing, they say Game are honouring my order and it will be sent by express delivery meaning it won't get processed til tomorrow so I am on edge now in case they mess up again.... Also there is a risk that it might be flagged as suspicious activity on my account cos it is two exact same amounts going out to one place and the bank say they can't override it as it is automated (computers in charge <_<)
Anyway, I have only played Awakenings two or three times because of the lack of Alistair and Zevran....... I love Nathanial though, he is very likeable and Anders :) Nathaniel has a great character but then I love rogues, I love playing as them and I love them as party members they are fast and deadly. Incidentally, I put Alistair on the throne with Anora on this faithful to Zev game and had Zev as my champion with Loghain for the first time (cos you can't let Alistair do it can you....lol) and I literally lolled at Zev's line about irony :D
