OMG, that work in progress looks great! Very dynamic! I can't wait to see it finished! Also, you CAN post in one of the General DA:2 forums, that is not registered only. I've been posting there.

TigressM, how did you get your character portrait to look like that? Is that from a screencap or something? She looks amazing.

Yes, it's a screenshot.  If you'd like to make your own custom profile pic.  Basically, you replace the image that BioWare reads to update your on-line profile.  To do this, follow these steps:

1.  The image must be 146 x 146 pixels, and it must be saved as a .png with this naming convention:  Tigress_portrait.png (replacing Tigress with the name of your character).
2.  Replace the .png of the same name from your character folder.  You'll find all of your character folders under
Documents->BioWare->Dragon Age->Characters.
3.  Once step 2 is complete, right click on the image and select properties and make the file read-only by checking the appropriate box.  This will keep the game from updating your profile pic back to the default portrait in the future.

That's all there is to THAT part.  The hardest part is getting your on-line profile to update.  Here's some of the things I've found most helpful in getting that to happen:

1.  Load a save from the character you're trying to update the profile of.
2.  Move to a new location (new map).
3.  Remove a piece of equipment.
4.  Do a hard save (not a quick save).
5.  Check your on-line profile through the game's interface (the new image won't show up there, most likely, but this seems to help kick-start it).
6.  Exit the game and check your profile from the website.

If the image doesn't update within the hour, rinse and repeat but swap steps 2 and 3 around (change equipment first, then move).

-------

And to keep this post on topic... I'll just thank ejoslin again for all her work in digging out the REAL Zevran in DA2 from the talk tables.

PromptDA2 Cameo

Change the dialogue in the canon cameo, draw an encounter with or without your Warden in tow, write an entirely different scenario - whatever!  What would you have rather seen in DA2 than what we got?

Time Limit: Tear yourself away from DA2 for just one hour to participate

Deadline: 9am EDT, 3/21/11.  Yes, the US is doing our 'daylight savings time' thing again, so all you living in more rational countries make sure you've got the right conversion.

Prize: Prose or poetry

Kornichon:

Ok. Let's imagine my warden, Morrigan, Oghren and Zevran put the feet in a parallel dimension which make them suddenly appear in DA2....face to fugly Zev... XD
(click the pic)

Posted Image

Yes.  YES.  Even though his face morph isn't as bad as that first hideous screen shot... YES.  This was funny and so appropriate!  It's also sort of an evil nega-companion piece to your "Zevran twins in the Gauntlet."  XD

Shadow of Light Dragon (non-entry, spoilers for DA2 endgame):

Zevran grinned at her. “Ah, my dear Champion, it is like I said, yes? It
would be a crime to simply stand by and let such beauty be marred by an
enemy’s sword.” He chuckled, at her expression perhaps or Fenris’
penetrating glower.

Link to rest

I'm pretty sure you could have Zevran tango with a qunari and I'd find it IC... but I really did like how clearly this is Asleena's Zevran, with his own priorities and loyalties, rather than a Zevran.   And I can definitely see how this would be a very satisfying (in a loose-ends-wrapped-up sort of way) coda for a Warden-Commander.

Corker (non-entry):
The Antivan Ambassador

The winner and, with only one prior prompt, next prompt selector is Kornichon!  Congratulations!  Shoot me a PM if you're interested in collecting your prize.

@Corker, at the end of reading your entry, I have an image of Zevran duel-wielding crow-feather quills. With very sharp tips. Ambassador Arainai is all business! I would have thought he'd enjoy being distracted...but I suppose it would have to be by the right person. ;)

@Kornichon, I said it on Dev Art, but that's a very direct way to make the new Zevran 'hot'. XD I also did love how it was the original Zevran screaming for someone to kill it, ahaha...

$#*%@*$!!!

Alistair... aaaargh!!! *shakes fist at game* I hadn't played my elven mage Vaalen in a long time, so I re-did Redcliff on Hard/Nightmare, cuz I couldn't remember what exactly I did in my old saves. Well, Sacraficed Issold to save Connor, and lost my temper with Alistair at camp, and it set him all the way back to three. That's right. Three. Then I tried to get my poor Vaalen a rebound on Zevran, who is technically romanced, but there were no conversation starters left that get him into bed, and I don't know how I managed that. lol That return to camp was crushing! Totally just going to go back to the older saves where Alistair still loves me next time. lol He is so high maintenance! Argh! By the time he dumps her, I think she'll be over him! He's so frustrating! Tottaly looking forward to cheating on him when Zev offers a 'massage'. >:D

Awww, you just have to play nice with Alistair,he is pretty low maintenance imo, he just cares about doing the right thing :)
Regarding gaining favour back, just buy some Feastday gifts if you messed up real bad ;)

Any news anywhere on BioWare caring enough to fix the dialogue bug with Zev in DA II? It would be pretty insulting if they don't ¬_¬

@SoLD - I'm awful to my US Zevran. He's much more 'generic fantasy assassin' than Zevran; not entirely humorless, but it's a sneaky dark cynical humor now, and almost entirely joyless. Losing the Warden broke him in a way Crow training never did, it seems.

It's just so frustrating.  My warden risks her own neck to do the right thing, save Connor, even after Alistair brings up the idea of killing Connor, and then she gets yelled at for it.  I wish one of the dialogue options was to point out to him that Connor could kill Issold, Eamon, Teagan, and all the survivors for all we know, should we go to the tower.  I know I can do the persuade check, but it seems unfair.  She has her pride, dang it.  >_<  Just going to go back to the previous redcliff save where I did manage to reason with him or do something right.  Gosh, I don't think I even lost THAT many points the time I did kill Connor. (it was an accident)

Alistair is very high maintanance if he has a different POV from the Warden.  He's too impractical.  But dang it, I want to properly romance him at least once!  lol  Aaaargh.

Lol, agree with him then ;) Tell him it is OK to mourn and be a good person and you are golden. He is easier than Zev to romance flattery is all you need really. Zev is more complicated as a character, he has seen more of life than Alistair and has a more accepting attitude to the nature of folk... :) (imo)

Gah, I feel sort of stupid now--I didn't even connect that it was US Zevran. >.< So many people (used to?) go on the principle that Zevran becomes Guildmaster no matter what due to his Antiva gig that my brain has come to expect seeing normal Zev in the role.

Story makes more sense now, and is sadder :/

Well, I finished my Tannusen-tied-to-a-pillar picture,

http://l-userpic.liv...09280196/525809 <- that one

and I decided to start on the "Elves in Black" picture I've been talking about doing for over a year now. I was kind of hung up on drawing it with just Alley, Zev, and Tannu because that's two of my OCs with one canon character.

Now that there's Fenris to play with, of course, I can have four elves in black suits. Ah, ah, ha! *mustache twirl*

Naturally I started with Zevran, and have been derping around all morning with getting him to lick a gun.

Posted Image

Deliberately zoomed out and cleaned up so folks can't see all my sloppy scribbling, hahaha.

(And yeah, shoulders are too narrow. Especially the one to our right, but I'm just derping at this stage and I'll tweak shoulder width once all four are in the shot. There's no point obsessing over parts that end up covered by other characters until they're all in place. XD)

It's so quiet in here. >o

Fenris: ...Why am I stuck next to the mage.

Tannu: Don't tase me, bro!

I think Tannu and Zevran are both trolling Fenris, and Alley is just like "screw all of you".

I oddly found Zevran's romance easier.  lol  I think my personality as well as that of many of my Wardens is more in line with Zev's.

Well obviously, you can only romance Ali if you're female whereas Zev is open to both options... I have only played one female character and she ended up marrying Alistair so that was all good :) all my subsequent Wardens have been male and romanced either Zev or Leli - I find Zev-romance easier to achieve and somehow more... fulfilling maybe?
