Here's a non-entry: the relevant exerpt from my f!Brosca playthrough. I was in and out of Orzammar a lot, rather than just going in and doing all the quests at once. After the Carta was taken care of, we went back to the surface. "L" in the following dialogue is Lorelai, the Warden.
Camp
L: Zevran! Tent. Now.
Zevran: Your wish is my -
L: Now.
(Wynne stuffs her ears with cotton.)
Zevran: Well?
L: Well what.
Zevran: Did you wish to speak of it?
L: Of what?
Zevran: Of whatever that was about.
L: Oh. You can tell?
Zevran: I can tell.
L: (sigh)
L: The short version:
L: My old carta buddy. Set me up. And then Alistair had to kill him.
L: ...
L: You just went tense all over.
Zevran: ...I am sorry that happened to you.
L: What? What did I say?
Zevran: Nothing, nothing.
L: You asked. I wasn't even mad at him because, sodding hell, the shoe could have been on the other foot, you know?
L: ...
L: Yeah. You know.
L: ...You going back to the Crows?
Zevran: No.
L: Because you can, if you want, as long as you don't try to kill me when you do it. I'd have let Leske go, too. He wouldn't go. ******. If that's what's worrying you, I mean.

What I found interesting was, out of my Wardens, how many of them didn't get consolation of any kind. I'm just not sure how to write up the absence of an action as a story.
I might try something with my non-romanced Mahariel, who's always good for stories about emotion!fail.

*guilt* I blame DA2 - I'm on a psychotic Anders-binge. But even though the tragic mage angle is oddly addicting, Zevran will always be my favorite BioWare LI <3 I miss the easy companionship he has with the PC - I feel like the DA2 romances are all so tense and crazy. While that's fun in its own right, Zev is just so darned cool

Random tangent: My brother is going through his second playthrough of DAO and is romancing Zevran this time (as a female dwarf, no less!) I'm so proud of him ;_; (he was so surprised that there was so much more to Zev after the sex scene)
That stupid achievement is so misleading! I preferred how they did it in DA2 where the romance achievement was only earned after the emotional/plot arc of the romance, not after the first sexing.

along the same line..I'm thinking of re-doing Vey's play through for DA2 (hopefully by the time I get it next week the patch will be out and it will fix the the issues that have been wrong with that)
