Ridiculously Awesome: The Zevran Thread

*nod* Yeah, that view totally makes sense and I think you're right. In the case of leaving open the possibility to sleep with others while they're not together, I'd say Rima (my Warden) was probably the one to suggest it (though I'm not even sure if either of them actually take advantage of it *shrug*). She's kind of an oddball, though, and probably more of an exception. Their fidelity lies more in some particular things that they would only do with each other ("You can have sex with whoever you want, as long as you don't do <that thing> with them"), and other, less directly sex-related factors. I don't know if that makes any sense, but. XD Either way, I don't think that it diminishes the significance of the point where Zevran refuses sex. (I could elaborate on why that's particularly the case for Rima, but I've rambled enough. Haha. I just need to get to writing that story, rather...)

Thanx for the answers - time to get this toolset open and get crack a lackin goodness happening *grynz widely*
On fidelity my Warden & Zevran had an agreement - they both knew what they were marrying - both their appetites are the same - fidelity seems to them an unachievable goal and so they accept this - permitting one another to fulfill a need - I describe it very crudely
"like taking a dump - something ya all gotta do but there is not rule about using the same toilet." The point is they both see it as a function not an expression of love... however they find in the end that being given the freedom to stray actually makes them realise they dont want to.... bit of a spoiler but I really dont put too much point on that so it doesnt matter.

@tellervo I've been reading your post DA:O chains/nations and ages series. I didn't even realise you'd written anything DA2 >.<
I've written a lot of *stuff*, some of which is lost in the depths of the kmeme--I'm GTAnon and was Aodhan-anon on the DA2 kmeme (shame, what's that?). I won't advert it here since this is the Zev thread and it should be all Zev, all the time.

Four
months of impatient waiting for an update... I was sure you abandoned
it and it was quite frustrating and depressing, to see another great
story about Zevran abandoned because of DA2. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie] I'm so glad to hear that you want to continue!
N&A and the sequel(s) are way more important. I didn't much care for DA2. I just only have time for one piece of writing in my life right now, as I've picked up an old, horrible addiction, my One True Nerddom (which has not escaped DA influence). Hopefully I can churn out some N&A in the spaces between.

@ Tellervo - I just finished reading
CHAINS - I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Slowly working my way
through the others. You guys/girls are such wonderful writers.
Thank you~ I saw the comments you left, much appreciated. N&A is much darker, so as long as you're not looking for more of the same....
I'll refrain from sharing the trolltastic truth behind N&A for now, it'll come out soon enough.

And bitenomnom, the toolset ages are universally agreed to be extremely silly and not at all accurate or relevant.

would do something tomorrow, but it turns out it'll be a crazy busy
day.) Well, maybe I'll do a late one, for fun. I really like the
prompt.
How frustrating! I hope you do get a non-entry in. Or an entry, if there happens to be an extension. Were you planning on fic or art? Oh, and thanks again for you kind words on my pictures ^^ I do really love drawing features, so that's good to hear.
I'm finishing up a prompt entry myself. And a non-entry-ish thing that is probably going to take longer than three hours. I *should* have the actual entry ready in time.

More tellervo fic? Dalish tellervo fic? *reads immediately* If there's nutritious Zev-related content of any kind within, it's definitely on-topic
And trolltastic truth behind N&A, eh? I'm not sure whether to be intrigued or worried

Well, there's always the option of cutting random parts out of my students' labs to make them finish faster, increasing the chances of me having time, buuut, that would probably make me a terrible person. The idea I'd had was for art (so, eh, it'd probably go over the 3 hours anyway XD). If I could finish anything quickly, though, it'd be fic...maybe if something pops into my head during lab tonight that I could run home and scribble down before bed. We'll see. One of these time I will have an actual entry. XD
You're very welcome. Do you have an account on deviantart or anything that you post your drawings to?

Make it true.
Make Zevran do something - dangerous, sexy, funny, crazy, (or all of it combined) - whatever you prefer - that will become a legend, talked about for years or even decades all over the country.
It doesn't have to be set in past and in Antiva, it can be during the Blight (perhaps Warden challenged him?) or even years later (perhaps he was just bored or wanted to prove himself he can still do it?), but it has to be something widely known, and he should survive or else no need for warnings, right?
Hooray! I finished, and it's not quite as last minute as my previous two entries, either!
Telling Tales
Time: 3 hours
Prompts: 1
I have another, much more serious non-entry in production as well. This prompt spawned plenty of ideas.

People trying to make out he's tall and strapping, Sialater? I actually really like that DA elves are small, Zevran included. But then, I'm normally fond of short fantasy races. It made me disproportionately happy to see this pair of short little guys running round saving the world! Plus Zevran's not-tallness sort of fitted his character better than making him some sort of more generically tall, generically handsome love interest. In my mind, at least.

Huh, I had actually always thought that Zev was even slightly shorter than the human females. (Unless she's elevated in this screenshot? Though if anything, it looks like he is.)
#5316
Posté 22 septembre 2011 - 02:52
Bitenomnom: There's actually a small elevation whoever is talking to Zevran stands on right there. The fire is raised, slightly. If you take them to the Orzammar bridge out side of the Proving Grounds, and maneuver them to stand next to each other, they're the same height.

And I can't help but think that it's rather primitive way of thinking, and that it must be some teenagers who didn't have serious relationship yet, if few centimeters of height are what matters most to them.
Anyway, I'm going now to read and comment the entries now.

There were two entries.
Bitenomnom, your students must love you. But I hope you will post your story and/or the picture anyway.
Sushifer's Telling Tales where we find the truth about infamous Lothario of Antiva. Seeing Zevran squirming because of Alistair's teasing was oddly refreshing, and I was laughing from the beginning to the end. Here are twenty silver - when do you expect the second part of the saga will be delivered?
I also hope you will post your other more serious story you mentioned. I'm looking forward for it.
and Tryynity's TRUTH OR DARE, where Zevran proved how selfless he is and generously helped the Revered Mother and sisters. What would they do if they caught him? I say they would ravish him in celebration... errrr, as punishment of course!
First of all - thank you for great laugh! I had one hell of a day, but your stories made it much better. Both of them were funny and original. It is difficult to choose - can we say there are two winners? No? *sigh* I was afraid you'll say that.
Well then. Because I have to choose... I choose Brother Arainai. Congratulations, Tryynity!

I haven't been playing DA:O much lately, but once I finish rebuilding my desktop computer I might try and get in another DA:O playthrough before I start my annual Baldur's Gate game, or failing that, after it.
Sialater wrote...
I dunno. Have you taken him to the Orzammar bridge to find out? I don't play males if I have a choice, so I've never found out. (And Fenris is the same height as Fem!Hawke, IIRC.)
They made the elves taller in DA II; I think that Fenris is probably as tall as the female humans there, although it's fairly hard to tell with the way the elves slump.
DA:O, on the other hand, Zevran was certainly exactly the same height as Zemariel, who in turn was obviously shorter than Wynne (I never took Leliana or Morrigan around much, but them too). Not so much as some people make it out to be, and I fail to see how it would be a problem anyhow, but at least a few inches I'd say (this from standing on flat surfaces like the bridge). I thought I had a screenshot, but looking, apparently I don't. It has been a while since I played, so I could be off on that.

Klidi, hopefully I will have time to work on my picture (or, barring that, a story) this weekend. =D (And your drawing, come to think of it! I haven't forgotten! This week has just been full of crazy for me so I haven't had time to do anything fun...)

I've got a few others with Zev and Morrigan in the frame, and she's pretty consistently taller-looking, IME.
