Here's how Zevran's approval works for the Taliesen encounter (big big spoilers)

Approval 25 or lower -- Zevran joins Taliesen.
Approval 26+ Warm (no romance) -- Zevran sides with the warden
Approval 71+ Adore (romanced) -- Zevran sides with the warden
Approval 26 - 70 Interested or Care (romanced) -- Zevran will leave the fight completely unless the warden says "Zevran doesn't need the crows any more" in which case Zevran will join the Warden.

If Zevran leaves the fight you get a different dialog before the encounter and the encounter has far fewer Crows which makes sense given what he says. The talk you have him camp with him about it is also a bit different than the talk you have with him immediately after the fight if he stays. You can question him about Taliesen if you so choose, and there are two branches that are actually quite interesting, though you can only choose one in the conversation.

1. score 15: Zevran switches sides and has to be killed, no talk possible, only interaction is olooting the body *schnüff*
2. score 35: Zevran doesnt fight, in camp (after rising score again) he offers ring, after that proceeds as normal (1st offering, rejects tent invitation, 2nd offering with proposal)

Huh, I didn't know about the different Talisen encounter for interested/care. I'm intrigued- I may have to reload and have a muck about with approval levels.

I use Photobucket - it has a photo editing tool that is useful if you dont have photoshop

@Zaxarus: For screenshots I use Imageshack. I don't think it has too many fancy functions, but usually if I crop something I use a different program first, so it works for me.

XD Actually, though, an idea bit me yesterday that doesn't involve the obvious...I think I'm going to try to write it tomorrow after my first of three tests this week. And I still need to read yours -- hopefully I'll have time to do that tomorrow, too!

btw. i ended the Nemain-run this weekend and started Awakening (i love the Zevran in Awakening mod, even with the very limited interaction).
- Romance with Zevran
- Anora is queen
- Loghain survived (awful dialogues with Wynne)
- Alistair drunken anywhere
- Dark Ritual completed (with Loghain, interesting dialogue)

I'm a little bit unsure about my Roleplay ending so far. For the time between Origins and Awakening i promised Sten to accompany him back to his homeland. Do you think Zevran would come along? Or what else would he do in the mean time?

Ah, finally someone who also thinks Loghain's dialogue with Wynne was awful.

Till then, I didn't care much about him. But his arrogance to Wynne made me really despise him. She was a common mage in a huge army and she was fighting; she couldn't know where the king was or to get to him to save him.
He, on the other hand, was a general, it was his damn duty to follow what's going on and where the king is! 

And as Alistair is my second favourite character, ever since that one time I always have the same scenario for the Landsmeet: Zev is my champion, fighting against the guy who hired him to kill his amore, and then Alistair gets his revenge.

On remembering the fallen:

On his first playthrough, my husband carried a grudge against Loghain for Ostagar, in particular for the two guys who party with you through the Tower of Ishal. He felt very bad that he could not remember their names, later in the game. But Loghain was going to pay, for them and for all who fell at Ostagar!

When he started his second playthrough, I heard all manner of indignant sputtering from the computer. "They don't have names!"

Haha, Loghain is actually one of my favorite characters, right up there with Zev. (He wasn't at first, mind you, but that was before I read The Stolen Throne.) I love his dialogue with Dog...
My "canon" Warden (who I'm currently replaying) only has about a kajillion reasons to spare Loghain...and I'm glad, because I don't know if I could kill him again.

You would think they would have taken three seconds to give the two guys at Ostagar names...imagine the battle: "Hey you with the sword--no, -you- with the sword! Yeah! You, not-Alistair guy standing right by the genlock! Stab that--oops, sorry, too late."

Had to wait until I got home to read this, it appears campus pc’s block that site! ... Wow. Zevran's need/ability to distract himself with his first target is really interesting and makes me wonder, even with subsequent jobs, if he maintained that or really did learn to enjoy his work, so to speak. Not to mention the details behind the earring and first hit, really great.

About Loghain
I'm reading a fanfic about him, published in this forum and complete at

I like it very much.
The story is about an "alternative" origin-line with Loghain married and Fergus Cousland the hero.
Now i'm thinking about other possible alternatives, other groups of hero-warden-companions. Perhaps i'll make a mix. Some standard companions, some from mods to represent other figures.

Has anyone from you used the Karma Companion mod?

Merril, oh no, please not. I have a VERY hard time in every DA2 run not to start a romance with her. Even now in my Fenris run i'm thinking about "perhaps a little bit of Merrill?"

But Kylon, yes thats an idea.

I thought about the Karma Companion addon to have more companions to choose from. And in my mind they could be other characters from my own story.

Ahem!

So I was quite surprised today, when I was contacted by Derek from Bioware regarding some prizes for the Zevran Thread's weekly competitions. I'm certainly not trying to swoop in (swooping is, of course, quite bad) and usurp anything (I've never won a weekly, the time limit just prevents it), especially since I took my unintentionally long hiatus but I'm certainly not going to turn down free stuff for Zevran fans.

So, I've got prizes! I don't know when everyone would want them to start taking effect... like, this week? And if people would want multiple winners or stretch it out (which would take like, 3 months)? I'll let everyone discuss.

It's codes for the new Mark of the Assassin DLC for Dragon Age 2, for the PC (I believe PC, as that's what I requested, with my second choice being PS3, so... I'm just assuming it's PC since they don't say).
