I was pondering entries for this week's prompt, and LOLed at the idea of a Dread Pirate Zevran.
This is not an entry since it's practically lifted from someone else's work (The Princess Bride), but I thought I'd share the laugh factor.

And possibly an 'aw'.
And so...an excerpt from...
The Princess ConsortDread Pirate Roberts: Rest, Highness.
Warden: I know who you are. Your cruelty reveals everything. You're the dread pirate Roberts, admit it!
Dread Pirate Roberts: *bows* With pride. What is your desire?
Warden: You can die slowly, cut into a thousand pieces.
Dread Pirate Roberts: *tsks* Hardly complimentary, your Highness. Why loose your venom on me?
Warden: You killed my love.
Dread Pirate Roberts: It's possible. I kill a lot of people. Who was this love of yours? Another king like this one, clueless, rich, and human?
Warden: No. An elf! Poor. Poor and perfect. With eyes like amber in the sunlight. On the high seas, your ship attacked, and the dread pirate Roberts never takes prisoners.
Dread Pirate Roberts: I can't afford to make exceptions. I mean, once word leaks out that a pirate has gone soft, people begin to disobey you and it's nothing but work, work, work
all the time.
Warden: You mock my pain!
Dread Pirate Roberts: Life
is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something. *pause* I remember this elf of yours, I think. This would be what, five years ago? Does it bother you to hear?
Warden: Nothing you can say will upset me.
Dread Pirate Roberts: He died well, that should please you. No bribe attempts or blubbering. He simply said, "Please... please, I need to live." It was the "please" that caught my memory. I asked him what was so important for him here. "True Love", he replied. And then he spoke of a Grey Warden of surpassing beauty and faithfulness. I can only assume he meant you. You should bless me for destroying him before he found out what you really are.
Warden: And what am I?
Dread Pirate Roberts: Faithfulness he talked of, Highness, your enduring fathfulness. Now tell me truly, when you found out he was gone, did you get engaged to your king that same hour, or did you wait a whole week out of respect for the dead?
Warden: You mocked me once, never do it again! I
died that day!
*King Alistair and his entourage appear on a distant ridge, distracting Roberts...*
Warden: And you can die too for all I care!
*The Warden pushes Roberts down a steep hill*
Dread Pirate Roberts: *rolling* As... you... wish!!
Warden: Oh my sweet Zevran, what have I done?!
*The Warden leaps after him*
