Oh, Tryynity, thank you for this prompt.  I haven't had this much fun writing in a while.  I hope you all enjoy it as well.

NOTE: I blame Sushifer and Zaxarus entirely for what follows.  You have been warned.  (Oh, and yes, this is a story with an F!Warden/Alistair romance.  Sorry, Zevranites, it just fit the story better!)

Hello everyone!

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm stuck on my Zevran romance .

He offered me a massage at camp and I accepted, and I also invited him into my tent for smexytimes twice after that as well. However, after that I used some of those feastday gift things (or whatever they're called) to max his relationship with me - now I have no dialogue options with him at all in the camp, apart from the standard "bye" and asking him to leave.

I have since slept with Alistair and he doesn't bring up anything about Zevran at all, and neither does Zevran say anything about Alistair.

Anyone have any idea what's happening?? :S

Hmmmm, it really does sound like the relationship with Zevran was cut off.  In order for tent time with Alistair, you need his approval to be high enough to hit the jealousy threshhold, which would take effect if Zevran were in a romance with your warden and his approval was maxxed.

This wouldn't be caused by the feastday gifts, however.  It's just that you must be in a relationship with Zevran in order for him to go to the tent.

Hmm...it sounds like I must have unwittingly picked bad dialogue with Zevran at some point then. but I can't think where that would have been - I wish I did fewer overwrites for my saves, then i could go back and identify when I first started having the problems!

It's easy to do, especially in the earlier parts of the relationship. And once it's cut off, it's cut off for good (with one exception because of a bug).

Yeah, I think I remember getting like -17 points once. My warden was saying how she didn't trust Zevran yet (or something), and I only chose this dialogue because in my head I thought it was saying something else. Oops.

Anyway, I'm about to give him the boots gift, so maybe if there's dialogue there it will tell me what's going on with the romance.

Feast day pranks destroyed my romance with Zev as well. He was on 'Adore' level, offered the massage, but my Warden refused ('we're not alone' option). Then I used the stupid belt, got -50 and used the brandy to get it back. However, ever since then he was 'friendly'.
I wanted to be sure so I tried this several times with different levels of approvals. After using feast day pranks and gifts, it was impossible to continue or start the romance - the dialogue options never showed up.

Well, Zevran was happily coming into my tent but I used the gifts to "speed things up" a little and got him to 100. However, I then read about the earring and decided I wanted the romance to develop more naturally, so I used the lumps of coal etc to drop it back down to 70/80. And now I don't have any "come into my tent" options at camp at all .

Incidently, where does it say "adore" or "friendly"? I know where the relationship bar is, but I don't get any words *is a noob*

Just scroll your mouse over the relationship bar. It should show what you approval is, number first and then explanation in the brackets.

Ahh ok! Using the xbox so never really thought about clicking and scrolling around with the A button. Using a moue seems far easier...

That's odd that the feastday pranks would actually change the relationship -- there should be nothing in them that actually triggers the "romance cut off" flag. I know they mess up what the status says, but that shouldn't have an effect on the actual romance status. Very very strange.

WIP of Elenilote's Theron and Zevran. I'm a derp and haven't been keeping count of time like I used to with my Paint, but eh. I think it's all lined and flatted, unless I decide to add Zev's other hand or something. Now is the part where I yank their facial tattoos out of the way and get to shading.

Go back to an old save - the Feastday gifts : Brandy take you back to warm - if you wanna make him hate you put on the chastity belt *giggles* I did for laffs...


But yes it does cancle romance - so dont use it on romance partners - give them the real gifts.


The only way to fix it is to go back to your save b4 you did that.

Only use the gift for non - romance partners - to save time in getting your bonuses.

e.g if you cant stand listening to Leiliana's balads/stories over and over - or Morrigan prickly reactions - Sten's  etc

Just give them the gifts and you go straight to Massive

Do you hand draw (with a mouse ) the outline?  and then colour in.

I do everything with a mouse, both in Paint and in photoderp. I have a tablet, but it mostly gets used for handwriting bits. I keep trying it for hair in photoderp and then end up doing it with the mouse anyway since I can never get it to do what I want otherwise.

My Paint lines are done with the line tool and the curve tool, the ancestors of photoderp's pen tool.

pls dont ask me to do maths .... thats WORSE than my drawing - those two abilituies are actually connected I read once - go figure ! But so is music and maths but Im down with music - 7 different instruments at school

No, there isn't.  I've played around with all sorts of approval in my testing and the romance status never changes at all.  Sometimes I get glitches where I get the wrong status appearing (mainly Love while the LI is at Adore, but I've also gotten Friendly while the LI is at Adore using Feastday pranks).  Even if you drop down to hostile, you need to actually talk to the LI before they'll dump the warden.  But these drops were attained using console commands.

Ah well, I had the Feastday pranks on my computer for all of 5 minutes before getting mad and vowing I would never buy another DA DLC (only broke that vow for WH, and that one made me more determined so I've missed the DA2 DLCs which I do understand are better).  It really does surprise me that they would actually mess up the relationship rather than just the status bar.

I once used the -50 prank to get Zevran low enough for leaving me at the Taliesin encounter. And once i gave Leliana the +50 insturment following the prank to have the music item with no change in reputation. No problems there. Now i only use (very sparingly) the +10 gifts. Sometimes relation goes from adore/love to care/friend (especially with Zevran) and i have to bestow a normal gift to change back to romance.

I just now had a bug with Leliana. She was at 51/interested and startet the story about the stars. Afterwards she was at 51/care. Some tests, every time 51/care afterwards. New try, evade this discussion, got straight to 71/Adore thru Feastday gifts, start her 71+ discussion (Lel confesses her love) and all is good. I wonder if a Mod caused it, but if have no new mods, only ZDF + DT, Alistair romance and Terraex-Morrigan, no Zevran IRS because its problems with DT. *puzzled*

Aren't Leliana's bugs sort of notorious for how easy it is to trigger a romance with her? Remember how Corker kept referring to it in her Lorelei walkthrough about how she had to emphasize it was a *platonic gift and friendship* only?
