Sure Im up for anything the thread wants to do

 - I wonder if there is a Thedas equivalent of this kind of celebrations like Andraste's Day - maybe that is better.

I am curious because we are all from different countries and maybe beliefs - doing a multi-cultural type celebration would be fun.

At least there is a special "First Day" before the first month of a year. And i would assume that the chantry in some way honor the days of birth and death of Andraste.

I am in favour of doing a Festive piece set in DAO with Zevran and the companions - maybe all our own characters visit and celebrate it the way you do IRL

Or maybe from a different perspective - have the festivies occur at your own house rather than Thedas... so Zevran, the companions and all your characters are the guests   I  like that best.

Ima gonna do that one anyways...

I went to church tonight and there was ZEVROG.

My church does a service for the winter solstice. They had a short liturgical drama, acted out by some of the kids with the service leader narrating, of a tale from India about the Sun and the Moon.

See, the Sun and the Moon were two beautiful, radiant goddesses who danced around the sky together. A little too radiant, though, and their light and heat started to wither all the crops in the ground and make all the animals too hot. So the animals decided:

One of the goddesses had to die.

And the FROG volunteered to be the ASSASSIN. I am not making this up.

So he lays in wait and BOOM HEADSHOT kills the Moon goddess.

Well, you can imagine that the Sun isn't happy, and does that thing Sun goddesses tend to do in stories where she goes into a cave or under a rock and won't come out. And now the world is freezing.

So the frog assassin tries to explain things BECAUSE HE ISN'T PAID FOR SILENCE not that he offers it for sale, precisely, but ALAS the Sun isn't having any of it. Unless... the Moon is brought back to life.

But then of course, all the world will fry unless WAIT WAIT WAIT one of them is in the sky during the day, and one at night. RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME. Zevrog pulls his arrow out of the Moon, which revives her, although she's not quite so bright anymore. And both goddesses returned to the sky.

And every so often, they appear together at dawn or dusk, to dance together.

@Tryynity: Ooh, nice idea! I don't know if I'll have time to do anything for it (been so ridiculously occupied lately!) but if nothing else it'll be cool to see the entries. X3 I agree with the others; that banner is so shiiiiny...
Anyway, we'll see -- maybe I can manage something. Need to get back in the loop, so to speak, one of these days. I feel like I missed a lot here even though I've technically read every page! (EDIT: I mean, not EVERY page -- every page since I feel like I've vanished from the face of the internet a few weeks ago, though. =p)

I can make the deadline for people who really want to do something but are too pressed for time - I know how it goes this time of year.

A whine caught Zevran’s attention.

“What is it, my faithful friend?” the Antivan asked, a smile on his lips.

Dog whined again, looking over at Dailana, then back up at Zevran.

“Ah, yes, so you need my advice on the matter, hmmm?  I could have told you that she wouldn’t appreciate that in her trousseau, no?”
 
His whole body sunk in dejection, the canine whuffed into the dirt.
 
Zevran chuckled. “I would suggest that you do as all men do when their woman is angry at them: expose your stomach and whine.”
 
Dog barked, then trotted towards Dailana, tail wagging.

Sorry, that this is a bit short this week. Family is incoming.

The prompt has come to an end. With the feast hanging over us like a damokles sword we've four entries this time:

Zevran giving advice to Sten without realising what's the matter was marvelous. I especilla liked the moment when Zevran snaps back to reality ... to late.

Corker: Words of the Wise
I always love Zevran as a match-maker/romance-consultant. And Vashti not only not asking for advice but even not willing to hear it, so that Zevran has to push the matter, is a very sweet turn.

Tryynity: I need your advice
As said in the blog i really don't think that zevran would stay silent about his "win" out of fear. I loved to see how he gives his advices and uses the situation to get something from someone what otherwise surely never would had happened.

Tklivory: Elf's Best Friend: A Drabble
i'll try your advice (expose your stomach and whine) the next time my wife is angry at me.
And that your story is one to laugh about was really needed after your last prompt.

This week i liked the prompt from Tryynity the most. This sly tactic to overcome Morrigan's resistance was something i could really imagine, it is totally in character for our most-loved elven assassin.

um... a funny thing happened on the way to not doing a holiday prompt entry. first, yootoob had snow. i just had to take a picture of it snowing on poor zevran. and then i noticed the frame i had paused it on looked like bannon was opening a present. or *could* with a little help from msn's tech the halls site. which crashed three times, and crashed my photoshop, but eventually i got a screen cap. so.

Holiday Prompt Entry: Rogues' Christmas
Time: between 1-2 hours; didn't keep track with all the crashing and re-doing.

@ Oooo *claps & squees* luv the christmas pic - but yea Zevran looks unimpressed

@ Corker that christmas snapshot was very funny - especially Zev with a gun.

Oh and Wynne giving advice on toilet training - like of course she has had soo much experience LOL - We have a family member who has raised one child (who no longer speaks to her) and 20 cats (who inherit everything when she dies) and of course she has loads of advice in regard to parenting O.o - oh yeah gonna really take her seriously LOL

I dont totally get who is talking to who in some of it.

Im going to do my family too - my family is so crazy its funny to just sit back and watch sometimes - but add the DA crew and OMG it would go off.

Do you live on acreage? I mean to shoot guns? I shot a 22 once my husband had a 303 but I was too scared to try it going by the kick of the 22 LOL

My dad has a country house in the mountains, right next to some state game lands (hunting preserve). Lovely place, although you have to wear some blaze orange if you want to go for a walk in the woods in-season, just to be safe.
