Prompt: Rinna - Not Dying
Can you believe it? The very first prompt was "what does Rinna look like?" but other than that, we've had nothing on the lady.
Tell, show, or otherwise display something about Rinna and/or Zevran and/or Taliesen - something
besides her ignomious death. A pulse-pounding job, a raucous night in a tavern, a tender moment stolen on the shore... show me (with words, music, images, as you like) a strong character I can see Zev falling for.
The drumroll, please...

Uh, so, I wrote a thing. Because Rinna. I like her. And if she hadn't been killed, I doubt the Crows would have suffered both herself and Zevran to live.
Absence
We have to drag you away from your LARP more often. You do really wonderful work in emotional miniatures like these, little lyrical word-paintings. This one's a sad and hollow song, and it's haunting. I wonder about the circumstances of Zevran's death, and if it paralleled canon or happened some other way. And there's a poignancy to this being the "other" response - Rinna becomes the cold killing machine that Zevran doesn't, when he goes looking for death in Ferelden.
I am (reluctantly) assuming this is a non-entry, since you didn't include the time information and all that kerfluffle.

Entry: Rivalry
Medium: writing
Time: 1:50
Prompts: 2 0 (we're re-setting everyone!)
WARNING: mature content.
okay, i put this on my forum instead of here on bioware, because i think it might be too much for the bioware level of content. keep in mind that NONE of the bad stuff is explicitly described, but it is in there. so this is not a fluffy zevran/rinna thing. this is zevran is an evil 17-18-year-old heartless assassin thing. there is murder, blood, mutilation, and sex. sometimes at the same time.
To be honest: if I were not the prompt sponsor, I would have given this a pass based on your warnings. The subject matter is not my cup of tea.
But I
am the prompt sponsor, so I
did read it, and it was bravely done. It's not easy, I think, to show characters we like and sympathize with (like Zevran) doing awful things. And I was definitely interested in your take on the 'early dynamic' going on there, with none of the three of them being well-acquainted or settled into established roles. It was definitely fun to see three wary young Crows trying to figure out how best to get a leg up and establish their dominance over the other two.

Stolen Moments
Time: 2.5 hrs
Prompts: 4? 0!
The breakfast scene killed me. It was almost a goofy high school/college cafeteria comedy scene,
right up until it turns into a(n implied) bloody knife fight. Over a fork. Seems so terribly appropriate to the Crows, too.
The escalating thefts were all very fun, and the thematic turn-around at the end, from this stolen and lost to something found (and also something lost...), was lovely.
And the winner is......

I don't know! I'm never sure how to judge when a piece isn't my personal
thing but is nevertheless well-done...

Prizes for everyone! Even for Tellervo's non-entry, if you want one, because I really did love your piece. You can point me at an old, unfilled kmeme prompt if there's nothing else you want.

PM me with requests, y'all. I'm willing to give most things a shake.
Prompts counts have been reset to zero since there was such a large difference between our newer folks and our older folks. Well, 'cept for me, now I have one.
Since I think it's been the longest between prompts for
Tellervo, that's who I nominate for next prompter. Give a holler if life's too busy for you to play, Tell... I think it's been a while for SoLD, too, so I'll put her on deck if you bow out.
Thanks to all who participated and read the entries this week!
