Ridiculously Awesome: The Zevran Thread

@Klidi It's really difficult to write for Kruklya since... well, I don't know. I'm so attached to her it's hard to be impartial and just write her words for her... I'm workin' on it ;-)
By the way, there is one version of the "Chastity Belt" song on YouTube that's ok, albeit performed by more of a community theater type of group than a Broadway production...

Before and Now
So how did the Blight and meeting the Warden change Zev? (Whether he romanced Warden or not doesn't matter.) I want him to realize that something is different. It might be something big change in him, his worldview, etc... or it might be a small detail - e.g. he might realize that after years in Ferelden, he prefers lamb stew instead of fish chowder. ;D Funny, fluffy or sad, whatever you want.
Since Klidi was bemoaning the lack of Zev/dwarf lovin', here's one from my Brosca's continuity.
'Course, Brosca's not *in* it, but that's kind of the point.

i thought you looked different!
well, you can make a sketch or rough draft first. and if that looks ugly, just... do another one. each one has to get better.
@corker & all and sundry
i dont mind people posting notes about new art and writing. or what's going on in what projects. i think it's all interesting.

Wonderful, touching story, Corker.
So who is choosing story now? Dralkjin or Bhryaen?

Perhaps in a nod to the cutthroat nature of the Crows, whomever posts one first?

did anybody tell bhry how it even works?
sorry no prompt entry from me. been busy writing 3 other projects. :/
got a semi-technical question for yas... here on bioware boards'n'stuff, you know your blog section, right? well, when i go to my blog there's a bunch of blog posts. but i have other, older blog posts that don't show. am i missing something? because i don't see anywhere where one can click to go to older blog posts. like pages 'n' stuff? or do old ones just fall off??

Anyway, a contract is a contract... so I will be back!

Kruklya: "Oh, so you're all friendly now that you've been beaten. I should introduce you to a guy I know named Loghain."
Zevran: *luridly enjoying the view despite lethal blows... and why not at that point, he reasoned?* "I... believe I would prefer to be introduced to this rather splendid, blood-drenched vision before me first..."

Sorry- no idea about the Crow method on choosing topics actually...
From the front page:
How the Prompts Work
- The prompter sets the prompt topic, the time limit (if there is one; 3 hours is the usual), the acceptable format ("anything" is customary!), and the deadline. Specific deadlines -- a date and time, with the appropriate timezone -- are the most helpful.
- The prompter may designate a prize of their choice, but this is definitely not a requirement!
- Folks submit their entries by posting to the thread. Usually, stories are posted elsewhere (the BSN blogs are useful for that) and linked to from the thread, to keep post sizes reasonable. It often helps if you quote the original prompt in your post to capture the banner and the prompt itself.
- Non-competitive entries are always welcome! These can include entries that exceed the time limit, late entries, previously created works that fit the theme, entries by the prompter, or other things that you don't want to enter into the actual competition.
- Anyone who participates in the prompt, competitive or not, is eligible to pick the next prompt. Usually, the prompt will be chosen by someone who has chosen the least amount of prompts, so to help everyone figure out who that should be, you can list how many prompts you've given along with your entry.
- After the deadline, the prompter will choose a winner. It's customary for the prompter to comment on the entries, but again, there's no set requirement here!
- The prompter will pick the next prompter, based on how many prompts all the participants have previously given. If there is a tie, it's up to the prompter to break it.

- And the circle goes on!
Since I think I was the only entry into the last prompt, and I've just picked a prompt, Klidi suggested one of you two new folks should get a crack at it. But how to pick? It's normally prompt-er's call (so Klidi could have just tagged one of you) but I, partly tongue-in-cheek and partly just wanting to keep things stumping along, riposted that whoever came up with a prompt topic first should just post it. First-come, winner-take-all - it's a lot more abrupt than our usual method, hence comparing it to the Crows.

bhry:
whoa, cool!
i must say... that's the SKIMPIEST skirt i've ever seen in dragon age. on armor, i mean. no wonder zevran was distracted and got konked over the head.

His skirt or hers? Hehe... But both are vanilla DAO outfits! Actually all vanilla leather looks like that, but one form (Felon's Coat) adds leggings. Since I didn't know about Felon's until near the end- and I don't feel like modding in super-cheese outfits- Kruklya went through most of the game in such tantalizing outfits... and thus many great screenshots ended up not for public viewing...
Oh, OK, *slashes to the fore like a "good" Crow should* here's my attempt at a weekly prompt:

"You should be ashamed!"
Is there anything that shameless, open-minded, easy-going, assassination-hardened, good-humoured, non-judgmental, anything-goes, nothing-is-sacred, snarky Zevran could do that would genuinely embarrass or shame himself? Could be as flippant as "Yeah, walk in public with messy hair" or as deep as, well, it goes...
Medium: That which thou preferest... though in keeping with an earlier idea, media with which you're not as proficient is also welcome
Time: 3 hrs, I guess (though I feel sheepish telling people to watch the length)
Deadline: By Friday, June 15, at high noon at the Spittoon Saloon.
Prize: a $500 gift (after sending in the nominal $550 shipping fee)

well yes, but... zevran's at least goes down to mid-thigh or so. and has SOME kind of panel between the dangly straps and the side pieces. the thing she's wearing is like slit all the way up to the belt! it doesnt even look like that on leliana.
does it??
ooh, interesting prompt! very difficult!
hmm... there IS the one time bannon actually made him blush...

Actually, from the concept art here, it looks like most of the ladies' light armors (except studded) were supposed to have thigh-baring slits. Because armorers don't understand how hips work, I guess.
tmp's Female proportions fix also has optional packages to give the ladies light armor that covers their sternum, is as long as the men's, and doesn't flash any thigh. It's great.

And that screenshot - Zev wasn't distracted only during the battle, he's trying to peak under it during the interrogation, as well!
Female proportion fix is a must-have mod.

"Alas poor Zevran & his thread" *sniffs and dabs nose with a black lace embroidered hankie* "I knew him, we all knew him, in both the biblical and literal sense..." *she sighs and falls prostrate*
Then suddenely a thought strikes her - I am part Pali. - * She jumps to her feet and speaks in a loud commanding voice that would even scare Morrigan*
"Rise thee up and walketh - In the name of the Maker - thou hast been summonethed - thou shall sleepeth not with the dead!"

::skips and dances around::
FINALLY, bannon & zevran contains... bannon *&* zevran. i'm kinda excited about this post. not only is it the start of elven craziness, but... it turned out pretty darn good. and you know, i NEVER impress myself. the parts where the pov switches with the same sentence is pretty cool. well, i think so, anyhow.
please see my sig for links to where the story is being published, in your preferred format. blog, forum, ffnet.
meanwhile... back in the thread!
apparently, no, there aren't any good games :X
i've been keeping my eye on diablo 3 and guild wars 2. but as for rp... they aint it. i was pretty excited about the gw2 'mmo manifesto' to make the world more immersive and less game-y, more role play... but i lost heart with that. it's the same pvp kidz, playing with their 'toonz' and crap. meh.
as for diablo... it's the same as it's always been. more of a 'class playing game' than a 'role playing game.' i honestly think all these people need to stop marketing as 'rpg' and call them 'cpg's.
also!
we didn't really resolve the 'should people post promos of their stuph here' question. well, it's been quiet. TOO quiet. so. i think everybody ought to at least check in. what are y'all doing, whether it is DA/zevran related or not?
as for me...
i have totally lost my energy to do any art, or even play any games.
oops, almost forgot... i did post another bit to the B&Z Teaser thread. that was the part where zevran is introduced into the story (arriving in denerim), and already published. since The Ambush happened, i think that will be the last post in the teaser thread.
that's... really about it. this is a pretty bad slump for me. but in good news, i'm not actually depressed. just... listless.

Someone asked nicely for a follow-on to NSFW Nameday Shenanigans /NSFW that I'm trying to figure out. Technically, I guess two people did; someone asked for more Bethany/Nathaniel/Alistair before I even finished the story. Current request is for Aveline/Donnic/Fenris, which was mentioned as being a Thing that existed in the story, but was not actually shown. I actually want to do that one more with talky bits and less with smutty bits.
I have vague urges from time to time to fill a few other prompts I have earmarked for my Randy Rogues, which includes Zev, but just haven't gotten to it.
