well, the thread sorta died because...

dragon age is kinda old. da2 didn't kill it, though. but then mass effect came out. and that skyrim thing so many people like... people got distracted from dragon age in general, and zevran, too.

Yes, DA2 did not kill it, but very hard hit ... Many fans DAO were very disappointed DA2, and Zevrans redesign in DA2 was just awful.
I played in Me3 and in Skyrim, but DAO still the best .
Maybe DA3 bring new hope?

the fan-fiction and fan-art folks for DA are still going strong.

except... the ones that moved on to ME and skyrim fics. or who have, shall we say, diluted their DA excursions with them. ::shrug::
as for me, i'm usually lagging behind, so i'm just starting my DA fanfic (and art) while the rest of the folks are slowing it down. :X

actually, i think the fact that DA2 was kinda crappy helped the DA fans stick with DA and not all jump over to kirkwall on the hawke bandwagon. as for DA3... time will tell. if it is REALLY good, it may draw attention away from our beloved original.


so, alex and aidana, how many times have you guys played DA? i've only finished 2 games, my dalish elf, and my city elf. and then i started a human mage and got 1/3 of the way through. then i started a new game with my city elf again to remember what happened in the story i am writing for him. ;D

I've tried other Origins just for companion achievements, but I've played three times through with a male Amell just to romance Zev... I'm planning another run-through on a harder mode after I finish drawing my Warden though. I have to say, I really love the Arcane Warrior, I can't help playing that every time and felt so wrong playing anything else.

I also did plan on writing some fanfic as well though. I found a really good one someone wrote (that also played an Arcane Warrior), where he is traveling to Antiva to find Zev while he's fighting the Crows, but the piece was never completed and I find myself needing more.

While I hear DA2 isn't as good story-wise, I heard the controls and game-play were fun, and I do like that Hawke is actually related to my character. Maybe will use this knowledge for something in the future. xD

If considering complete walkthrough, with all the DLC, then three times.
City-Elf, Dalish-Elf and Lady Cousland (my character of the canon). All were rogues.
The others did not reach the finish line.
Now again play for Lady Cousland because of the loss of all saved.

I hope to hear something in the DA3 for Antiva, Crows and Zevran.
And I would like to know that Zevran did not part with his Warden,
and they lived happily ever after.
Although I do not think this will be possible...

The DA3 seems to be to cover more area, and parts of several countries.
Orlais and maybe part of Tevinter... Something heard.

Well, I'll wait for the Antiva game ... Orlais not very attractive.

I know it takes place after/during the Templar/Mage war thing... So I suppose this should be quite interesting actually. I really like the lore for Thedas.

 Let's see what us will show ... While we have very little information.Unfortunately, for me, the conflict mages / templars are not important, I never played a mage or a templar. But in the comic showed Tevinter very original,it will be interesting to visit. If us allow it.

Zevran won't appear in later games in an important role -- too many people killed him and hate him. Which means by the time Antiva is dealt with, it will most likely be far in the future. While it would be exceedingly cool if whether Zevran lived or died makes an impact on what happens to the Crows, I seriously doubt that will happen.

Though perhaps it will. Zevran's fate IS imported into DA2. Yes, the romance was all bugged up (Zevran did not give correct lines) and there were import bugs as well when it came to all the romances (several different issues). But every possible outcome to Zevran, including whether he was killed or kicked out, and whether he was in a romance when kicked out or with the warden to the end or in a romance -- those were imported, so there's hope.

As an aside, I couldn't even begin to count my complete playthroughs, but I clocked in 2273 hours according to Steam. A lot of this would have been bug testing and being windowed out, but that's still a LOT of time on one game!

I got my $60 worth...

Very strange that the developers have made this the interesting character is easy to kill. I do not understand how can hate Zevran, he is most cheerful and positive character in the game. I feel sorry for his foolish haters - they have lost so much in the game positive!

A romantic story with Zevran, perhaps the most surprising and touching.
Especially if you play as a noble human, where between them there is a social
and racial inequality. My hero has refused her high position and noble name in
order to be with Zevran ...
Their relationship reminded me of the plot of the movie "Titanic".
But with a happy ending, of course!

I like an Amell with Zevran. I feel that the fact that he is looked down on for being an elf, an mage is often mistrusted and are often even demonized by the people around them. Both have lived in a "gilded cage" as they like to say and the mage is finally able to get out and spread his/her wings. Having Zevran around allows them to experience what is beautiful in the world and learn things about each other they never realized they were.

I'm such a romantic. lol

I thing, Zevran suitable for romance with any hero.
It has the charm to conquer and elves and dwarves and humans, whatever their origin.

if you are waiting for the DA games to tell you that zevran did this or did that, or that zevran and your warden lived happily ever after.... you are just waiting for heartbreak. YOU decide what happens after the game ends! never mind what those silly game developers say.


alex... you played the same character through three times? or just the same origin, with different characters? that's funny. i thought i was nuts for playing the same (exact) character twice.


a lot of people hate zevran, because they don't understand him. i didn't understand him at all until i made a character specifically to romance him. and i didn't think they would last; i thought they would not care about each other and break up. i just did it to see that part of the game and story. ha-ha, boy did they fool me!

i think that's more the norm for the hardcore DA fans. i, myself, have this problem with conflicting urges. i want to play the game more, and try the different characters and decision paths and all, but sometimes i just don't want to go over the same old ground in ostagar and orzammar and all. and sometimes i really, really enjoy a game, so i don't want to play it and finish it, because then it will be over. yeah, i'm screwed up.

are the bugs you're talking about with zevran's romances/options in DA2, or did you mean the ones in DA? (and didn't you fix those? the latter, i mean?) i haven't yet played DA2 with an import where zevran was alive (yeah, i've only played DA2 once). i want to. someday. but that game... you know. eh.

Bloodsong - Almost the same. The first time I made my mage he was just a blood mage and looked radically different than my subsequent play-throughs. But the next two looked pretty much the same,only difference was game difficulty. So no, don't think that's weird at all, I just loved my character (the next two started off as Arcane Warriors, but after meeting Avernus in Warden's Keep were convinced that they needed to do anything to stop the darkspawn and thus took up Blood Magic too anyway).

Yeah, my character romances Zev every time. I made a female character just to romance Alistair once for the achievement, and had to delete her before I got to Zev just to resist the temptation.

BloodsongVengeance, ah ... I wish that would have their fantasies about the Zevran future coincided with the decisions of developers, but most likely, this is impossible.
And choosing between the my fantasies and the canon of the game,
I would prefer my fantasies.
I will not be penny wise and will make Zevran bright future with my hero.

In DA2 is not a bad quest for Zevran, but it already begins in the third act of the game.
And Zevran must relinquish sex with Hawke and Isabella, if there is
romance with the Warden, but it does not happen because of a bug. .
