My character extracted the information he needed from Zevran after the ambush and then promptly slit his throat.
Wasn't very romantic.

Okay, I legit have a question for Some Gamer Guy:
What are you doing?
I seriously don't get the folks who come in to troll these aging forums. If you're looking to stir up manure, Tumblr seems to be where it's at right now. The Dragon Age Confessions Tumblr regularly gets confessions that get upwards of 100 reblogs, often with plenty of sniping, eyerolling, hostility and frustration. I see some go upwards of 200 at least once a week or so.
Even around here, the DA:I forum is the happening place. Is it too heavily modded? Are people coming back to the older forums precisely because they're quiet and empty and infrequently posted-on, in the theory that the mods aren't looking?
I just... to the extent that I understand troll-logic at all, the goal is to walk into a place, post something inflammatory, and then giggle when people react, right? But there's hardly anyone here to react to you, and mostly they'll offer you some cookies or something. ejoslin may post a dwarf kiss.
So really... what's the motivation here? I ask because you're not the first troll to suddenly pop up in these forums. Is there a migration going on? What's the story?

This is the Zevran thread, where even Zevran-dislikers can share their experiences. Or so I thought.
I do not understand people who go to the topic, only to have to report that they "hate the character and killed him." What do you prove it? Yours heroism? Or just want to spoil the mood of the fans of the character? In the first case - it's stupid and a waste of time, in the second case - a fat trolling. Some Gamer Guy wrote...

Maybe if you had more to say other than the fact that you slit his throat. Why you dislike him maybe? Simply coming in and saying, "I hate him, so I killed him" is really a waste of a post.

The thread title "Ridiculously Awesome" *might* be something of a clue that it's a fan thread.
Honestly, I'm not that big a fan of "sharing experiences." I am up for discussions, though, in the vein of:
"I've never been able to justify keeping Zevran in my party. He just tried to assassinate my Warden! I mean, I know it's possible and he's a LI and all, but how can you justify sparing him without using metagame knowledge?"
or
"How do you get past all that groveling he does when you recruit him? Ugh, I lost all respect for the guy."
or
"I think it's kind of creepy that he never really expresses remorse for all the people he's killed. Doesn't that bother you all?"
...but only if you're actually interested in the replies. Most people aren't. They don't like him, they don't care why other people do like him, and they have no interest in understanding that. Which is fine. I don't like Anders. However, I also don't go into the Anders fan thread to complain about Anders, because that would be dumb. And trollish.
So, if you're legit not a troll, welcome to the Internet. Someone will be along to issue you a lolcat and a link to Google shortly.

He betrayed my last character, a sweet Dalish elf, in Denerim because she didn't talk to him frequently or buy him enough pretty presents. This was of course after she spared his life, and then later tried to protect his identity when encountering the Crows in a back road. Thus, Zevran is what I would personally call "vile".
My second character had reasons of ruthlessness (he's a villainous Grey Warden who I personally wouldn't "like" either if I met the man), but the above is the reason I dislike the Zevran from a meta standpoint.

Zevran has the potential to change more than any other character in the game. If you got to know him, you'd find out that he also finds himself vile. His major problem is he's not as cold blooded as he wants to be, and if you talk to him, you can get to that side of him. He's a loyal lover and a loyal friend. He is not only willing to, but asks to die in the warden's place. That's a far cry from the assassin you allowed to join.

You're just being way overly-dramatic now.
