Questions for all you knowledgeable Zevran fans, mostly about stuff I've read in the romance faq. I'm a console player and set in my ways, so I'll always be visiting the Circle Tower first, without Zevran. What exactly does he say in defense of the mages should you choose to execute them? I looked for this on youtube, but didn't have much luck. Also, what does he say in the Deep Roads that's so great? I usually keep Oghren in my party then, because why wouldn't I? He's relevant! But I'm curious. Whenever I take Zevran through Orzammar and a Paragon of Her Kind, I'm usually like "oh, shut UP, Zevran, you're just terrible" but I'm like that about everyone there, party member or not. Orzammar! What a place.

I find his romance the most interesting. The way his character is revealed over the course of the dialogues gives a nice arc.
I only play female chars so I can't speak for his romance of males but I like that its not just about love - that grows over time as you get to know each other.
Okay that's enough gushing from me...happy Zev thread /salute!

For the mage tower, this is what he says:
Zevran: I am hardly the person to lecture on the worthier points of human nature, but surely this is a fine time to display the oft-lauded virtue known as mercy?
Zevran: I deserved to die, and you spared me. Why are you so quick to condemn these mages?
Warden: Magic and knives are different.
Zevran: Magic can kill. Knives can kill. Even small children launched at great speed could kill.
Zevran: Why single out the wielders of one and not the others?
Warden: Mages can do more damage with one spell than you ever could.
Zevran: Mm. Touché.
Zevran: I've taken the lives of many throughout my career, but this is no measured act. There is no chase, no hunt, no dignity in this... there is only slaughter.
Various possible outcomes here:
Outcome 1:
Warden: Zevran, you're a hypocrite.
Zevran: Perhaps I am that, and a thief and murderer as well. But I looked my victims in the face.
Outcome 2:
Warden: (persuade success) What about the people they might slaughter?
Zevran: I've thought about it, but... ah, I don't know why I'm so concerned about this to begin with.
Zevran: Do as you like. Certainly the notions of morality brought up by a professional assassin are dubious at best, yes?
Outcome 3:
Warden: (persuade failure) What about the people they might slaughter?
Zevran: Might, not will. Committing genocide just because something might happen is more than the mark of a weak mind. It is insanity.
Zevran: As I said, it is not the killing I object to. It is the senselessness of it. I cannot support this.

I've never had this one. Zev has never said anything when I spoke to Ruck. Is it a bug?

It's complicated; I believe you have to talk to Ruck and tell him you're leaving for Zevran's dialogue to trigger. (So, for example, if you look at Ruck's "store" and exit, without using the "goodbye" dialogue choice, it won't trigger.)maradeux wrote...

If Zevran does comment, he says this:
Warden: I should go.
Zevran: I am not what one would call a sympathetic man, but seeing him like this pains me.
Zevran: We should at least put him out of his misery.
Ruck: Is not so bad. The dark and the burning keeps Ruck warm... warm like Mother's arms--
Zevran: His mind is gone, and his body will soon follow. I have seen victims of poisoning in better shape.
Outcome 1:
Warden: (persuade success) He may not live as we do, but that's no reason to kill him.
Zevran: I guess you're right. We'll just leave him here to his fate.
Outcome 2
Warden: (persuade failure) He may not live as we do, but that's no reason to kill him.
Zevran: That is not my point.
Zevran: He is no longer who he used to be. If his sanity were intact, he wouldn't want this.
Zevran: I suppose you will do as you wish.
Outcome 3
Warden: Perhaps you're right.
Zevran: I hate to say it, but leaving him alive is crueler than just killing him.
Outcome 4
Warden: Enough. I will not have you questioning my decisions.
Zevran: So I am to follow you like a dog and have no say in what we do? I see how it is.

I'm not 100% certain as I haven't tried to do this myself, but it appears that it would work. There is no overlap in the files altered by each mod.

Um. Nothing new to report here, I've been fubar for the last month health-wise and pretty much hiding under a rock again. That's my natural habitat anyway.
Have an aion-Zevran since that's where I've been lurking:

DA characters have bigger pecs, especially with some of the body mods, while naked. He's wearing thick leather armor, cut the fully-animated base mesh with thirty billion more animations and armor meshes some slack.

Hello Aroihkin! Nice to meet you here.I've read your Immovable Object and I like it very much.
Have you any plans to write it on some day?
I plan to continue someday, yes. Glad you liked what was up so far, anyway.
It has too much sequential plot for me to currently handle. Actually, scratch that, it had too much sequential plot for me to handle when I was writing non-sequential plot a month ago, which is easier than sequential. Right now I'm lucky if I can hammer out a one-paragraph RP pose here and there.
Aggravatingly, IO was not supposed to be sequential, but I sort of got roped into it by all the continuation crap when Alley's ribcage was crushed. I spent about a month trying to figure out if I could get away with doing stuff out of order the way I'd originally wanted to, and then stalled completely.
TL;DR, it should eventually get worked on again. I just don't know when. Creativity takes a lot, and sustained creativity for fic-writing takes more. Incurably ill Aro is incurably ill, etc etc.

Psh, it's not like, "Oh sweet merciful Maker my poor useless eyes!" It's more like, "Hurr," *squishsquish*
Yeah, but I didn't make him a tran, and that's where folks will invariably go with it. And after being flamed the first time around when folks went there, I really don't feel like a repeat.
I could just post stuff that's not tangentially Zev-related at all, like my main --

-- who isn't in leather armor, but is twice as buff as Zevran.
Edit: Also,

sometimes the preview window is hilarious. That's a polearm, so he couldn't ever actually equip/use it, but he gets to pose with it all tiny in one window. Lulz.

OKay so, I've been thinking about my "canon" Warden (lolMissa) and her story, and where Zevran fits in with it. Indulge me, Zevran thread.
I don't know how many of you picked the "yes I will be Warden Commander and that way Zevran doesn't go away" option, but it seems pretty common. I did, but the pisshole that is Awakenings made me realise that Missa wouldn't stay around for that nonsense, or deal with the politics of what it entails. She runs off to Antiva to find her Zevran, and when she gets there things aren't exactly peachy.
The rambling point I'm making here is that some relationships aren't built to last and that I wonder of the "...for a time," endings with Zevran imply that he's not meant to stay around and be the sorta fairtytale ending for our characters. I can't work out it Missa and Zevran stay together or not because of who they are, and was wondering if anyone else had a similar trail of thought.
I know this is kind of blasphemy to speak about in some ways, but just because you split up with someone or it ends, well-- it doesn't mean you love them less or regret it.

I love that hair in general, my main uses the same style in black and it's a completely different look. But yeah, it's got the same swept-back front bit and even has some braids involved, but it's a more complex hairstyle than "two braids and a brush", lol.beggargirl wrote...
I wish you could get Zev's hair like this in DA:O, considering his concept art and the comments the other party members make about how he spends so much time on his hair.
I wish DA in general had better options for that sort of thing, most especially for dudes.
Yes, and since I can't play DA anymore for now and haven't written or drawn more than a page or two in over a month, and certainly am not capable of writing up character analysis, Aion!Zevran was the best I could do.Tellervo wrote...
Ah, but Aro, the Eye of Mod is upon us now--no severe jaunts off topic.
I think his face still needs a little more work, but it's passable at least, and I'm certainly not throwing $10 at it to tweak a few tiny things right now.
