I did decide to do what I said earlier I was considering, and replay both games with the original characters again. I've made it all the way through DA:O, this time with some dialogue fixes and such (made a nice difference), and have recently started on DA II. I'm already missing many things about DA:O all over again, of course. My main method of keeping track of choices has been to keep an in-character journal, since that seemed like a fun challenge to vary writing style between the two characters and all. Hopefully that way, if there are any decisions to be tracked that don't stand out to me, I'll be able to figure out what they were anyhow.
I remembered most things that I expect to be major about DA:O, it turns out, but so far it seems I really don't remember all that much about what went on in DA II. Replaying DA:O was fun, anyhow, so I can't complain. Maybe next time I'll actually make a dwarf character like I was planning long ago.
This time I tried to make Zevran more effective than before, with an attempt at a largely cunning-based build, but he still ended up rather noticably lagging behind my main character with his strength-based build. Was better at locks and such, though, and was certainly an improvement over the "all dex and use two swords!" idea applied to both from my first run through the game.
Shadow of Light Dragon -- Ah, that makes sense. Goes to show how long I've been away, I suppose.
Aroihkin -- I agree. I generally think all of the characters look the best (or at least the most right) unmodded. And as for the DA II appearance... well, the less said about that (and the elves in general) the better, if you ask me.
Klidi -- I'd be up for prompts. I haven't had as much time to draw (or write) lately as I'd like, and they're great for some quick inspiration.
Laptops dying is a pain. At least if your desktop dies you can usually just swap a card or two and keep the hard disk(s), but laptops? Not so much.
