There's quite a bit in that conversation that doesn't make sense.  It's not about the sex, I don't think.  It's the feelings involved.  He has no issues about having sex with the warden, provided his feelings are below adore.  He also has zero issues, none at all, staying around if the warden marries Alistair/Anora (provided Alistair is either below adore or not romanced) though he will accept a breakup at that point because he understand he may be inconvenient.

It's those two things that make me think him saying he's "not a cheat" is just not a completely honest statement.  I think it's an acknowledgement that the relationship has grown beyond casual, not that he's suddenly concerned about Alistair/Leliana/Morrigan's feelings.  He wouldn't be the one cheating, anyway.  

What I think he wants is for the relationship to be out in the open and acknowledged, and he knows full well that the other love interest would not accept that.

Edit: I also think he doesn't expect for the warden to pick him.  He doesn't think he has anything to offer the warden.  And at first, he does sound like it's very casual for him and that he doesn't care either way.  But if you question him, he cracks a bit.  There are lines like this:

Zevran: You and I have had our fun, but if this thing between you and Alistair is leading somewhere, I'll happily step aside. Complication avoided. Everyone's the happier, yes? (makes it like it's no big thing)
Warden:It would be that easy, would it?
Zevran: Oh, I don't know that "easy" is the right word. Perhaps "necessary" would be better. (trying to maintain his uncaring facade, not doing a very good job)

I agree! That's it - he's lying about "I'm no cheat" - the truth is: He doesn't care, as long as he does not really feel affection for the Warden. You can be 100 love with Alistair, Leliana or Morrigan and Zevran would bed you without hesitation as long as he is lower than "adore". (and also - the other way round - he doesn't care if the Warden is also in romance with someone else or even married with Alistair/Anora, as long as the other person is lower than adore).

I literally cannot think of anything my Wardens would ask and Zevran would say no to.



--Missa Brosca would ask for something lulzy and he would oblige anyway, just because. ("Walk the Diamond Quarter wearing your nightdress? Certainly cara, what do I get in return?")

--Vardel Mahariel would pretty much do what Corker's Mahariel would do, but be far more hypocritical due to the boning of Morrigan. ("Oh, you do not like shemlen, warden? A pity. Does the fair witch of the wilds know this of course?")

Once again its a good showing of Zevran having his own ethics. To me it looks like 'cheating' doenst have much to do with sex for him. Its more about the feelings involved. In fact if you look at Zev/Ali jalousy  (or Leli/Zev i guess) Zevran can get jalous without your Warden even getting near the tent with mister Prince of Ferelden. That tells alot. I think hes scared to get hurt

In my canon mageWarden run, i always see her explaining to Zev that she will remain very close to Alistair because by the time Zev gets jalous, she usually thinks of Ali as her little brother (tho he might not see it that way). She loves him alot, will always try to protect him and make him happy but romance ? hummm no. (needless to say, she doesnt harden him or get him married with Anora).

You'll note the tramp stamp is gone.  It just wasn't playing nice, which is terrible, and makes me sad.

So I just got the Wynne convo about how Zevran is bad for my warden, had Leliana give her the "your Zevran" line, and then had Zevran read dirty poetry to her right in a row.

I'm the same RE: Alistair approval for the tent, but that's because I wait for him to initiate (which doesn't happen until 91+).  The whole waffly/blushing thing Ali does when the PC asks him to the tent is in character, but I much prefer the speech he makes when he asks to the one that happens when he's asked by the PC.

Zev really does prefer for the PC to make the first move by a rather large amount, which I've always found interesting about him.  Depending on RP, my Warden's don't always wait for the "massage" offer; it's probably 50-50 at this point.  The nice thing (approval points aside) is that both Zevran's tent conversations are fun (whether he asks or PC asks).

Edit: Regarding the approval for Zevran and the tent -- I think if he asks, you can get up to 17 approval, so yeh, it's a pretty big difference.  Honestly, I often lose approval if I wait for him to ask -- I can't resist asking him if it's all a part of his plan.  But I think it's an interesting part of his romance that each tent trip is +1.  The characters whom sex is supposed to be special for, beyond the first time, no approval gain.

I don't believe he likes sex that much more than everyone else (hah, done right, who doesn't like it).  I could over-analyze this whole thing, though, so perhaps I'll stop here!

@ Corker ~ (prompt) The last line of wishing to stay with her broke my heart. I was screaming ..turn back around..but to no avail...So well written.

@ ICevol ~ Love how he would not let her use him, shows how much he cares and what integrity (in total agreement with all others on this) he has at that level! And her level of expectation and shock was so well displayed. (I will admit I thought it served her right)

@ Maradeux ~ such an interesting expansion story to his time in the crows and the further elaboration of that remark in Haven...so creepy and macabre.  He would be in the best place to understand the wardens reaction to and living with the taint. And her declaration to him.Loved that!

@Sialater ~ again so hard to read, painful but beautifully written...Leaving rather than live in heartache makes sense but I still wanted the warden to follow him out of the door. 

What a great prompt this week...But I am at a complete loss. Now that distractions are finished at least for a few days I can come up with something this week...maybe..

 So...  It's been awhile since I pic spammed (a few hours at the very least).  I've been playing with the toolset again, this time morphing Zevran's face!  I changed his facial proportions quite a bit, but left his features and skin pretty much intact.  So I made two versions, one with his standard blond hair and brown eyes and one with dark hair and blue eyes.  Oh, and I gave him elfier (new word for me, YAY) ears.  Be kind to me, this is my first attempt at making a morph!  I like the dark one better, tbh.  I think it suits his coloring better.  But...  hmmm, I'm actually debating putting these out in the wild.  Unless they really suck and I just have no eye at all (which is VERY possible).

I think so too... Though looking at the blond one, he doesn't look too much different than he does in the vanilla game, despite the changes I made (which were actually numerous). I think that means I did it the way I wanted to -- he's still Zev In the game, the differences are more noticable.



But yeh, dark suits his complexion so much better. If I ever write a fan fic, I'll make everyone mad at me describing him as dark instead of blonde!
