@maradeux - I still love Ginera, the little nutcase.  I think the day she sees her death coming, she will spread her arms open wide, look up to the sky and laugh.

@wildannie - Zev's taking a page from Leiliana's 'watch you while you sleep' playbook, eh?  I'm a little torn - it's written very sweetly, but kissing someone you've just drugged into unconsciousness (even at her request) seems a bit iffy...

@caridounette - First kiss sampler!  Late, early, Warden-initiated, Zevran-initiated, male, female, romantic and not... quite a lot of variations in three short scenes.  I like it a lot.

@Kornichon - The shift from chibi-style to not-chibi threw me (I'm not used to manga or anime) but I think I'm starting to get the hang of 'reading' what it means. I think the Warden and Zevran both look great, and I thought the Warden drooling on her sleeve in panel 3 was a nice touch.

@FutileSine - OK, you got me; I thought Torioni *was* Zevran infiltrating the house early.  I like it better it wasn't, though.  I also appreciate the reminder that Zevran's past contains some really nasty things; that gets glossed over, often.

@frostajulie - You have some very nice turns of phrase there - "he declared his love upon her body and she declared hers upon his" and "untouchable and unreachable and unstoppable" caught my poet's ear.  Seconding that lyrium use in a non-mage, non-templar (?) was a very interesting detail.

Ok, I finally got my alternative male elf kiss to cooperate and uploaded onto youtube.  I think I'm done with it, though if anyone has any suggestions, I'm glad to continue to tweak!

Edit: Sometimes I wonder if I see Zevran as a lot more masculine than other people do...  Going off to check my eyes...

Just popping in to say that I love Zev as a character and LI.

I found in my first playthrough (after my mage elf had been dumped by Alistair) that despite having turned Zev down as an LI, he was the one that stuck by my Warden's side at the end. I loved that loyalty from him.



I found out just what a sweet character he can be when I made a Warden for him. I loved how when he finally does fall for her, his eyes open up to be so vulnerable looking. I also loved how at the point where he falls for her, he stopped hitting on all of the female squadmates.

He's an acquired taste, I think, but he's a very loveable character.

Actually, the party member banters don't relate to Zevran's romance at all, well, except for a few very specific romance-related ones -- the flirting ones happen whenever. But I never really thought his hitting on them is serious. With Wynne, it's to fluster her, Alistair, it's friendly (and most goes right over his head anyway), with Morrigan, it's a bet, and with Leliana, if she calls him on it, he backs down. Zevran flirts and charms, but when romanced, he's just as faithful as the other love interests.

Gah, am I being pedantic again? Sorry I'm horrible that way! I love it when he falls in love with the warden as well -- he fought so hard not to, but it happened anyway, and when he does, it's so complete!

Edit: Hah, I've been doing nothing but modding Zevran kisses the last few days.  Of COURSE I'm seriously fangirlling on him ATM.

Oh, man, ejo.. that is beautiful.   I cannot WAIT to get home, load that, and (try to) take screenshots.

I do see Zev as masculine, but also very secure and comfortable with who he is.  And I don't know how you can look at him in-game (visually I mean) and consider him anything but masculine!

(I admit in my head he looks a little more androgynous, but that's a general elf thing for me, not a Zev thing in particular.

There is a kiss in the game with a speakline that I am VERY intrigued by. It's not in the game, so there's some missing content (big surprise there). The line is, "Here I am," but his voice there, he sounds very loving, very protective -- a voice that just made me go "squee". I'm not sure where it was going to be put, or if a sequence was just left out, I'm trying to decide if I should put it back in, and if so, where I was initially thinking just after Taliesen, but all his responses there are good -- I am afraid to add in another good one.

The real downside to this would be finding the kisses to put this line into (I only saw it for a human male) -- well, and then putting them into zevran_main.dlg as I have to make four versions. I should put up a youtube video of it, though -- the kiss is nothing special, but gah, there must have been something really good written there, seriously.

Edit: Jen, I am so glad you like it.  I wrestled with it for awhile, but it was completely worth it!

I think she's a little heavy up top for an elf, but it's very pretty work, and I love the face.

I'll actually cosign this, to my surprise.  I'm not a huge Leiliana fan by any stretch, but it seems like hardened!Leiliana would play well with others, and - if the Warden hadn't already - would call Zevran out on his ropes and chains jokes. 

sigh... I tried to work it out in my head, and this f!Surana I've never even met before showed up and was so ruthlessly vanilla that it killed the mood.  "Now he can't do those things with his hands, Leiliana.  I like those things."

Yeah but that was more in response to the user being an annoying troll whose being posting nothing but annoying crap for the past few weeks.

EDIT: Plus, the foursome is just sex, not a three way relationship, which is what that troll apparently wants.

 Anyway, here is the speakline.  I think it should be in the game!  But I don't know.  But I wanted to share.  The kiss is awful, but it can easily be fixed (or the line put into another kiss).

Who says Leliana won't take up the threesome? If hardened, she sounds intrigued. You don't have the chance to follow up on it or anything, but there's nothing that says she wouldn't do it either. You only have the chance to invite her, though, if Zevran is at 71+ so that could be an issue of course.

When my male warden was ninhaed by Zev and I got that option I lol'd. But I think a Zev threesome would work out more for me. I dont like how Isabella handled a fem warden, i felt like it was awkard how you just blurted it out and didn't even know her. I would much prefer my fems go with Zev and my males with Isabella.



I would really of liked if Zev intiated the threesome/ foursome thing with Isabela.

Question this is related to Zev and Lel. If your with Zev and ask Lel if she wants to join in, she'll think about it. But if your a male during her charming convo she'll say the chantry frowns on fun.

There are a few times he says "here I am" but not with that particular speakline (tone is way different).  I'm not sure which Ft. Drakon stuff you're talking about, though -- when you're escaping?  That doesn't seem right.  My guess is, it's missing content as there is only one kiss like this -- only for a human male.  The speakline isn't in the game anywhere else (I looked for hints).

Second edit: I have to wonder, though; there were a few things I know about Zevran taken out (the first assassination attempt for instance -- there were initially two).  Also, in a couple of circumstances Zevran gets a "still in love" flag, and it wouldn't surprise me if it were related to that as there is no reason really for Zevran to be getting the "still in love" flag unless there initially was something else in there that would be triggered by it.

 OH MY! there's been so much cool stuff posted over the last few days - amazing art, many kisses and all the prompt entries too.

I think I've caught up so here's some thoughts on the entries so far.

@soignee - Beautiful artwork as always, there's always so much atmosphere in your work - really nice!

@corker - I liked this, especially Ruthaas recognition of Oghren's first kiss... ewww!

@payroo - Nice idea with the tension between Zev and Talesin, Zev's face is particularly good, I can see him thinking behind those eyes!

@hilde - Great fun! I love your perfect blend of humorous and hot!

@Shadow of light dragon - Zev turned the tables there!  his wit and cunning wins out as ever.

@maradeux - So imaginative, as always!  I particularly like the first example, the poison is a really nice touch.

@Caridounette - I really enjoyed all three, although I think the first two are my favourites - you capture Zevran's wit and charm so well.

@FutileSine - So dark... but it's great to read stories about this less comfortable aspect of Zevran, he's not without compassion/remorse but ultimately he will get the job done - quite chilling - great to read.

@Frostajulie - This is really touching, I like that he doesn't take full advantage of the situation (or does he??? he is very cunning) She's hooked on something other than Lyrium now!

@Kornichon - Wonderful drawings, funny story - it's fab... definitely a lucky escape for Zevran!

Thanks for comments on my entry @corker, I guess you could see Zev's reaction as being 'iffy' I would have liked to expand on some ideas that may have helped but... what can I say... I'm not fast enough at writing!  That's why it's so short and sweeeet .  Ha ha I did notice that 'sweet' was used quite alot in responses - hope I didn't make anyone too ill!

 No, not exactly, though a couple of the kisses ARE in ZDF.  I've been reworking the default Zevran kisses, tweaking positioning, camera, facial expressions, extending them where possible, and making alternate kisses to them as well.  The mod itself can be found here.
