Top? Really? Fine. Give me... a few hours. If I don't get pissed off.

The first actually is not in the toolset, but it is referenced a few times, both in script notes, and in a couple of lines that ARE in the game. Zevran may say to a femwarden, "Try to kill a lady twice, and she gets all icy on you," or something like that. Alistair mentions it in a banter. There's also a script note about the assassination attempt in game calling it the second attempt.

Maybe he could betray to Talisen, but you were given another chance to spare him?

Or was the first attempt earlier? with him escaping without any interaction with the warden? I guess that could have worked.

I thought that that ambush with the caravan and the guy trying to sell you books might have been the first attempt.

Just popping in to say that I love Zev as a character and LI.
I found in my first playthrough (after my mage elf had been dumped by Alistair) that despite having turned Zev down as an LI, he was the one that stuck by my Warden's side at the end. I loved that loyalty from him.
I found out just what a sweet character he can be when I made a Warden for him. I loved how when he finally does fall for her, his eyes open up to be so vulnerable looking. I also loved how at the point where he falls for her, he stopped hitting on all of the female squadmates.
He's an acquired taste, I think, but he's a very loveable character.
That was annoying. He introduced himself and you knew he was a fraud so you had to confront him? Why not just leave him to it? It's not like I really cared if these people were gullible enough to buy his phony relics.ejoslin wrote...

I didn't write that... But the guy selling books is triggered by collecting papers in the mage tower.

Well, he's all 'Hi, I'm so-and-so' and then you are forced to out him as the guy who sold multiple 'unique sacred texts' at the Tower and then he tries to kill you to protect his secret. He doesn't show up unless you know who he is (or, I suppose, you pass him without incident since you don't know him but it's not an event) and that doesn't fit with an assassination theory.beggargirl wrote...

I was under the assumption that it was an assasination attempt, and that was just their cover story.

@frostajulie - nice story about your Warden. Although it is a bit confusing that she's called Antiva. An unusually cautious first kiss for Zevran.
