Two assassination attempts? Really? I'm going to have to mess around with the toolset some more...

Top?  Really?  Fine. Give me... a few hours.  If I don't get pissed off.

The first attempt actually is not in the toolset, but it is referenced a few times, both in script notes, and in a couple of lines that ARE in the game. Zevran may say to a femwarden, "Try to kill a lady twice, and she gets all icy on you," or something like that. Alistair mentions it in a banter. There's also a script note about the assassination attempt in game calling it the second attempt.

Maybe he could betray to Talisen, but you were given another chance to spare him?

Yes, I had wondered about those... I think it was best left at one, I don't see how the warden could ever have let it go a second time...  Or was the first attempt earlier?  with him escaping without any interaction with the warden?  I guess that could have worked.

No, I don't think so.  Here is the script note regarding the ambush:

IF: Zevran is selected after being defeated in the second ambush
(if we don't have the camp, this one is probably never going to show up)
CNM set: cod_cha_zevran_beaten

Edit: You know, I think it's best it was one as well.  I think he would die a whole lot more often if he made two attempts in game.  It's a bit disconcerting when you hear Alistair say Zevran tried to kill them more than once, or Zevran say it, but oh well!

Second edit: And I will admit, the missing Zevran content (whatever it is) is not nearly as bad as the missing Alistair content.  Gah, the entire endgame assumes he's king or not in the party.  One small dialog for Gray Warden Alistair post landsmeet, that's it, then he's calling himself king.

I thought that that ambush with the caravan and the guy trying to sell you books might have been the first attempt.

I didn't write that...  But the guy selling books is triggered by collecting papers in the mage tower.

Just popping in to say that I love Zev as a character and LI.
I found in my first playthrough (after my mage elf had been dumped by Alistair) that despite having turned Zev down as an LI, he was the one that stuck by my Warden's side at the end. I loved that loyalty from him.

I found out just what a sweet character he can be when I made a Warden for him. I loved how when he finally does fall for her, his eyes open up to be so vulnerable looking. I also loved how at the point where he falls for her, he stopped hitting on all of the female squadmates.
He's an acquired taste, I think, but he's a very loveable character.

*Growl* Trouble with the stupid Southern Hemisphere time zone is, when you are online, everybody else's asleep! <_<

Jade, I hear you. That's why I, ahem, everyone on this thread adore Zev so much. He's dead loyal and full of life! Once you managed to get past his playful exterior, he's story was quite heartbreaking as well! Which is what I said to an Alistair fan when she questioned why I would be a fan of someone who tried to kill you twice: You will be surprise how sweet he is if you do a playthrough and romance just him!

That was annoying. He introduced himself and you knew he was a fraud so you had to confront him? Why not just leave him to it? It's not like I really cared if these people were gullible enough to buy his phony relics.

I was under the assumption that it was an assasination attempt, and that was just their cover story.

Well, he's all 'Hi, I'm so-and-so' and then you are forced to out him as the guy who sold multiple 'unique sacred texts' at the Tower and then he tries to kill you to protect his secret. He doesn't show up unless you know who he is (or, I suppose, you pass him without incident since you don't know him but it's not an event) and that doesn't fit with an assassination theory.

@frostajulie - nice story about your Warden. Although it is a bit confusing that she's called Antiva. An unusually cautious first kiss for Zevran. :D

I created ANtiva Specifically for Zevran, He loves his city of Antiva, I wanted it to be fate and there could be no doubt.  Then I dowlloaded the Alistair  tweaks romance stuff and I really have an awful time resisting him with innocent characters.  I played my dalish as young, mature but very naive and she was very lonely and bereft trying so hard to be strong but still just a kid really.

I found out that if you say I never really knew you Alistair breaks up with you.  I did not know that and there was no scene or anything.  What a lovely unexpected bit of angst for my poor girl.

Then I learned to use the toolset to change my head and so I gave her a softer look, I downloaded the sexy mage robes and made some with archer stats but then had to figure out a reason she would go from such a practical leader to  dressing like a ferelden skank. Also A dalish once burned might never fall in love again but a Dalish confused and on drugs might allow herself to be vulnerable enough to fall for a clever rogues romantic ruse.

So Antiva became Zevs after a hard life lesson about the dangers of drugs and a carelessly considered turn of phrase.
I am finding this playthru very satisfying RP wise.:)

An option to say, "Not interested, good day.", would've been nice.

It better not otherwise I can't use any ideas I have.  I always try to rp my characters, they have good stories but I never write them up. this first kiss was perfect for my Antiva:D

Okay, here's my prompt entry:

Alistair was still grinning goofily a full twenty minutes after Anastasia had left him. From what Zevran had been able to tell (though Alistair was strangely reluctant to discuss the matter) he was a virgin and so if that had finally changed then perhaps he could understand such prolonged and unabashed glee. He had certainly seen other men celebrate in similar fashions although he hadn’t been so inclined after his first time.

“Ah, my dear friend,” Zevran said jovially as he approached the warden.

Alistair, so caught up was he in whatever was going on in his head, jumped. “Oh, uh, Zevran. Did you need something?”

“No, not particularly,” Zevran said breezily. “So good of you to ask, however.”

“Then why did you come over here?” Alistair asked confused.

“What?” Zevran asked innocently. “I can’t simply wish to bond with one of the prettiest Grey Wardens I have the pleasure to be travelling with?”

“There are only two Grey Wardens that you’re travelling with,” Alistair pointed out. “Me and Anastasia.”

“True, so I suppose that’s really not that much of a compliment,” Zevran mused. “I would change that to ‘one of the prettiest Grey Wardens I know’ but I never made it a habit to associate with your order before this mission.”

“I…see,” Alistair said, clearly feeling this to be a good thing given Zevran’s assassin upbringing.

“So you appear to be in a good mood,” Zevran noted. “Any particular reason?”

“What?” Alistair practically squawked. He cleared his throat and tried again. “What? No, no reason.”

“It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I just saw Anastasia over here?” Zevran pressed.

Alistair colored. “You saw that? Well, let’s have it.”

“Have what?” Zevran asked, tilting his head slightly.

“Oh, you know,” Alistair said, trying to cover his embarrassment. “The jokes, the teasing…if you don’t hurry it up I might turn as red as I can get without you even having to say a word.”

“Now that would certainly be a sight,” Zevran considered slowly. “But I see no reason to do any such thing. Really, Alistair, it wounds me that you think so little of me.”

“Wait, it’s not-I’m not trying to insult you or anything,” Alistair insisted, running a hand through his hair. “I just would have expected you to give me a hard time. You seem to do that about everything else and to everyone else.”

“Why Alistair!” Zevran exclaimed, greatly amused. “I would never stoop so low as to mock someone at the beginning of a great romance!”

“You wouldn’t?” Alistair asked, confused.

“No, no, no,” Zevran assured him. “So she kissed you?”

The goofy grin was back. “Yeah. I think it went rather well but it’s not like I have anything to judge it by. She’s mentioned that she has, though, and she seemed pleased.”

Zevran couldn’t help the smirk that formed on his lips. “Are you, dear Alistair, by any chance telling me that I had the unexpected pleasure of witnessing your first kiss?”

Alistair winced. “Hey, I thought you said you weren’t going to give me a hard time!”

“Who’s giving anyone a hard time?” Zevran retorted. “I just asked a simple question. I will take your lack of a response as a yes, of course. And let me tell you that I find the matter decidedly adorable.”

“Adorable?” Alistair repeated, looking a bit shocked that the assassin had used that word.

“But of course,” Zevran assured him. “And since you seem the good little Chantry boy type then I’m going to have to assume that if this is your first time being kissed then you also haven’t had very much experience with certain other fun ‘grown-up’ past-times.”

Alistair turned a darker shade of red. “No, I haven’t. Why?” he asked suspiciously.

“Well, as you may or may not be aware I am quite well versed in all of them, including several that I do not believe are even legal here in Ferelden,” Zevran informed him. “So if you would, at any point in time, like some advice or even pointers – or you think that Anastasia might – then I would be happy to-”

“No!” Alistair practically shouted. “I mean, no, I think I’ve got it under control.”

“Are you sure?” Zevran asked, sounding concerned. “Because if you’re not then I can always-”

“I’m quite sure,” Alistair said firmly.

Zevran shrugged. “Suit yourself.”

With that, he left Alistair to futilely recapture the magic of his first kiss while he went off to go find Wynne. It wouldn’t do to spend too much time teasing the same person or his words might get less effective. Well, that or they might attempt to kill him. Really, neither scenario was particularly desirable.

Wynne looked up as he approached her. “Yes?” she asked cautiously.

Zevran smiled winningly at her. “Say that I believed that murder was wrong…”

<== is a bit of an idiot at times. That speakline I was talking about earlier that is attached to the kiss IS in the game -- it's his neutral response. Wow, it comes off way different with a kiss though. Since it IS a different kiss, I wonder if there was something in the works, or just an animator playing around.

Yet another kiss!  This one is an alternative to the Human Male default kiss.  It has a little bit of clipping unfortunately, but it's just in one small spot and I did not want to sacrifice the positioning or the camera angle, and it's less clipping than the vanilla kisses for sure.

@Ejo Since you do lots of scene modding and ive never done any... Do oyu think it would be possible to like be seaten at the campfire with Zevran when he tells his Crow stories? I have no clue what is doable and what isnt really.

And those stories are missing a cup of wine or something to feel realistic !

Unfortunately, I don't think it would be. It's not so much changing the animations (though that in and of itself would be some work) as it is, those conversations can trigger anywhere, and you don't want to sit down in the middle of the deeproads or wherever to start a conversation.

It's a good idea, and maybe someone more talented than I can see way to do it, but I can't :(
