I'm so busted :)  I did need to move Alistair a bit however since he's so much taller than Zevran :D

That's a gorgeous picture!

Edit: The gorgeous picture is the Zevran one, not my screenies!

on prompt entries...

@ tanith - I really loved this, Only the best of friends would be able to help with such a solemn task, it's no wonder they end up with family in Antiva years down the line (i really loved that story too btw)

@ sarah - I can really feel the uncertainty of their life after the archdemon. I like how they both seem to be a bit lost. Zevs loyalty is touching, they're definitely better travelling together - it'll be a riot!

@ corker - I always like the idea of allowing Zevran to show his loyalty. Giving him that trust is crucial to his development into a good.

I've enjoyed all the artwork @Aroihkin, @ soignee, @tankgirly.

...been a bit of a lazy moo this week so not going to manage a prompt entry, working on some Zev artwork, taking me ages... how does everyone manage to complete amazing pics so quickly?

@ejoslin - I was sure all the companions wanted a piece of Zev deep down, now I've seen the evidence to prove it!

@Corker. ~ A short and perfect demonstration of trust and friendship. I liked this a lot.Posted Image

@ Tanith ~ I loved the inner thoughts of Zevran and his reflections of what their freindship means to him as he
helps his friend bury and mourn another. Posted Image Poor Rabbit...

@Sarah ~ What a fun start to what will no doubt be a great adventure! Posted Image

All of the submission so far have been wonderful!!

This week...Nothing!!!   .Posted Image   Such a great prompt and my brain will not cooperate (bled dry by the past two weeks of midterms), the only thing that sticks is possible friendship between Zevran and companion not the Warden at all...may still work. Ack.  *babbles incoherently*

I got nothin' for the prompt this week, as usual. I got no mojo to make fandom words happen. Everyone's turned out some nice stuff so far, though. I didn't know shaving was a fetish, either....

Prompt:  Friendship.

Even as a friend, Zevran tells you he'll go to "the Black City" itself to help you. I'd love to see the theme of friendship explored this week, and how you think Zevran is as a friend and what the word means to him.

Visual reference: Irini Cousland.  She's had that non-hairstyle since she turned seventeen or so; it's not the result of trauma and is not a source of angst.  Rather the opposite...

Trust

22 minutes

It was a morning ritual, kept religiously.  The warm water would be there, waiting, brought from the kitchens.  She would be awake, dressed only in undertunic and trousers; the uniform for the day, be it of brocade or of drakeskin, would be laid out nearby, an empty shell of the Warden-Commander waiting to be filled.  But Irini Cousland required something first, this small vanity, this touchstone of normalcy.

He would have his kit with him, the soap and the brush and the blade.  The warm scent of  sandalwood would escape from the soap tin, pushing aside the Vigil's ever-present odor of woodsmoke and wet dog.  She would settle into her chair, tipping her head back and closing her eyes, as he swept the brush over the small cake, raising a fine, dense lather.  Then, with practised, gentle strokes, he would paint her head with it, covering the dark bristles that had sprung up since yestermorn with a cap of snowy  white that reflected the pink and gold of the dawning day.

They might pass a few words, then, about her Wardens, or the news from Denerim, or the dead.  And eventually, he would interrupt, saying, "It is time," and reaching for the razor, long and thin and keen.  And she, whom few in the Vigil would dare interrupt, would check herself and sit  back again, ready for his ministrations.

And he would marvel, each time, at her closed eyes and exposed throat,  lain unhesitatingly under the sharp blade in his hand.

That was the measure of their friendship.

The less people there are, the harder it is, oddly. I went with what stuck with me after reading visually (since I am visually led) and went with Corker's entry of the shaving, as giving an assassin a sharp blade is a lot of trust and the image of it lingered for awhile.

Prompt:  Poetry.

The symphony I see in thee, it whispers songs to me... Could be poems, stories about poems or poets, images of poetry in motion...  Adding to the body of Antivan boudoir poetry would be lovely, but I'm flexible.  (Not that way.  Would that I were.)

Y'all: No excuses.  Haiku count for the prompt.  Just sayin'.

Time Limit: A hour.

Deadline: 25th October 2010, (Monday morning, 9am EDT...)

Prize: A poem!  Send me some details about your Warden, what kind of poem you want, who's writing it and for whom, and it shall be done.  If I'm really inspired it might even be a song, but I can't promise anything.

Ooooh, one thing, if you're on a PC, make sure you mod to get rid of Zevran's bugs.

Hey, I've been wanting to ask... Has anyone gotten the banter between Zevran and Alistair when Zevran is romantically activated with the female PC? It's the banter where Alistair asks about Zevran's intentions. I have never been able to see this banter no matter what I do. I've wondered if there's a goof in the scripting so it doesn't trigger.

There are seven zevran/Alistair banters that are not in the game because of a bug.  If you're on a PC, I fixed them.  If you're on a console, you can watch the videos on youtube :)  I'm feeling lazy, so instead of linking I'll just tell you how to find them.  Click on the Zevran Dialog Fix link in my signature, then click on the video tab from there.  There's links to 12 restored banters, actually.

Congratulations, Corker!

Everything on the last few pages has been pretty awesome. The art, the writing, the screenshots... all that!

My inspiration has been pretty dead of late. Maybe I'll be able to kick it back into life this week. This seems like an interesting one (not that the last one wasn't, so that probably doesn't really have much to do with my lack of inspiration).

All this talk of mods always makes me want to install them all and re-play the same character again, but then I might never get around to finishing all the other characters I've started...

Words in my mind since yesterday evening. Written today in 38 minutes, directly in English (no translation). I hope there are no big grammar mistakes...
______________________________________

Can I respond in poetry? No? How sad... Yes, of course!

So, tell me about Antiva...

You wish to know? I'll take you there
The sound of Lillos fills the air
The sun burns on a dazzling sea
Just close your eyes and follow me

It's a warm place with gentle rain
You hear a whisper, most arcane
of blooming flowers, heady wine
of obscure secrets, lost in brine

The narrow streets of marble gleam
A childhood's nightmare, pleasant dream
A glittering gem amidst the sand
A darkhaired beauty in my hand

A ****house near the Royal Palace
Children are trained to become callous
packed in like crates in tiny flats
The stench of leather, blood and rats

This is Antiva, is my home
And now, since through the world I roam
I'm cold in genuine concern
and wistful, cause I can't return

@ Maradeux - Oooh! I like it! Especially because it sounds oh-so-pretty in the beginning...and then reality sets in. I think it sounds like something Zev would to - talk about all its good qualities....and THEN say all the bad ones. I especially liked the first line of the fourth stanza. Haha. Too bad the filter here didn't, apparently. ;)

@Wildannie - Oh! Love it! I always enjoy it when artists post their WIP and we can catch a glimpse into the process that goes into making their lovely pieces of art. :) I really like his hair!! Hair has always been a challenge for me....
