Actually, Wynne tries to mother Sten also, he's just more resistant. ;)

And I'll admit, there's reasons why I kind of glossed over Ostagar in my FF, particularly Marlana's thoughts about Duncan. I don't think Alistair would appreciate it... ;)

Edit: Gah! Need to take more shots.

ToP Again. Because I still find this funny.

True, you have a point. Was there a codex saying that Andrastian's are cremated and not buried?  My DE has a crush on Alistair from Lothering on.  My HNF had a crush on Duncan, lol.

Probably, but there's also discussion of it in-game. They burn their bodies as Andraste was burnt to mark her sacrifice. It also has the handy side effect of destroying taint, but that's not their religious reason for doing it.

I don't believe that there's a codex entry per se, but it's generally given that there's always some sort of funeral pyre for Andrastians.

Well see it does say that Cailan's of royal blood and deserves a pyre, but that leads me to believe that it is only done for those of royal blood.

It's also sort of hinted at that pyres might have to do with noble blood, but we seeing villagers being burned in Redcliffe, and there are no cemetaries at all except for the one for the dragon cult. ;)

Edit:  Also, when the Dalish mention burial, it strikes Alistair as odd and unusual.

Yes, and in the 'how do your people deal with the dead' conversation, Alistair calls the dwarves burying people weird and the Dalish burying people and then planting a tree on them 'beautiful.' Go figure. Image IPB

In Redcliffe after the Battle of Nightfall, if you talk to some of the people by the pyres, they comment about giving a proper send off and most of those who died were commoners.

There was another place that it was mentioned, but I can't think of it offhand.

I must not have paid attention to that. I thought the burning their bodies was to make sure that no abominations existed, lol. I'll have to listen better next time. Now since the cultists were strict Andrastian's it completely surprises me that they had a cemetary.

Maybe they buried the ashes? Or they split off from the main Chantry before they decided to burn bodies like they did before the Chanrty decided on only female priests.

Not only that, but the Haven Chantry isn't like the rest, the guard at the beginning says that. And I believe the other people you can talk to say the same.

After so many playthroughs "I" am starting ot get a little tired of Wynne, but my wardens almost always like her. Tbh, the banter at the end of RtO never bothered me, I alway took it like LadyD...Wynne trying to distract Alistair by teasing him about something she knows will embarass him, like she does throughout the game. Aside from not finding Duncan, what really bothered me about RtO was the lack of dialogue that included the warden. Alistair and Wynne continually comment to each other and I was like "hey, I was here too, you know!", especially if in a relationship with Alistar.

Celea is so smitten with Alistair, and at the time this pic was taken in Lothering, he was still totally clueless.

Yankee - You just put a finger on what was bothering me with RtO and just couldn't pinpoint what it was. Ostagar represented the loss of everything the Warden had before then. Near as I could tell with all the Origins is that you didn't have much of a choice when Duncan gave you his "offer". Well, you did have a choice, it was just becoming a Warden was the lesser of two evils.

Yeah, I think for the me, the biggest letdown was finding the joining chalice and having it be a gift for Alistair, and not even a cutscene gift, at that. A) The joining chalice should really have been a gift FROM Alistair to the Warden since it was found in the location of their joining, not his. B) If it's got to be a gift for him, let it be a cutscene where the two of them can share their memories of the Warden's joining.

But, I just chalk it up to a hastily created addon and move along.

Agreed, Reika. Regardless of how anyone's wardens felt about Duncan and becoming a warden, imo, Ostagar has significance to the warden, as well. Add on the fact that all my wardens romance Alistair and knows how hard it must be for him to be back there, I felt the warden was "left out", it should have been more something that they shared, rather then Alistair and Wynne.

@Tigress and Yankee - I agree, the joining chalice should've been more than just "another generic Alistair gift".

I think it's the idea of the tree and life coming from death that he finds beautiful.

@Tigress...don't even get me started one that one! My wardens give the chalice to Alistair because it means something to them as a symbol of their "new" life. And they give it to him as a symbol of how much a part of that "new" life he is. I never think I explain this well, it always makes much more sense in my head, lol.

It makes sense to me, Yankee. Though in Marlana's case, she wants nothing to do with the chalice, since while she didn't throw the fuss others have, the Joining marked when life became hell. Except for Alistair and her other companions.

Kaylith, my CEF, would've appreciated it as a gift, because other than the whole thing with Vaughn, she was happy to get out of the Alienage. And has been happy to have the chance to kick human ass from time to time. ;)

Vanessa, my mage, would just be confused, since she didn't really want to help Jowan, but felt forced into it with Irving's insistance. And she most certainly didn't want to leave the tower since she remembers what life in the Denerim slums was like, and the tower was a huge improvement. (That's character's PoV, player PoV is pretty dim on how the circle is run.)

Ah catching up on the page I missed.

re: Leli and elves. That does bother me a little because at first I thought it was just bad writing, but then after LS and Sketch being a main character, I think the writers really dropped the ball on that part of her. I notice, though, that after that one convo it never comes back up.

re:RtO, I didn't like the thing with the Chalice either. I did like the Ogre part, and Cailan's funeral, but the rest was like Awakening Lite. Too little substance. I think it's just a nice little add on to get more stuff.

Rage - From what I could tell, all the DLCs for DAO from RtO were written by the Awakening team. I haven't read up on who from DAO did Awakening, but I've been told by several people that Awakening was a different group of people.

Wasn't Awakening written by Gaider and the main Origins writers?   I could've sworn I remember Gaider talking about what parts of Awakening he wrote.

Edit: I also remember him talking about what parts of RtO he wrote and commenting on Cailan's notes and how Celene was supposed to have been part of it?

It just seemed so disjointed from DAO that it made sense to me that Awakening was done by a different group.
