I wasn't even talking about anything you said, just the quote from DG. I did read it. I have seen that quote before. I know that it is meant facetiously. I still don't like it and don't see why not liking it is so damn offensive.inclemency wrote...
I would rather you ignore my posts, Sarah, thank you very much.

I'm not very impressed with Alistair anyway. He's a whining, babbling idiot who can count pretty high.
Here is a David Gaider response to things like this *points to above quote*
"Tell you what.
Next time we put in a male lead, we will make sure to make him the
manliest and most stoic creature you could possibly imagine. Just for
you.
He will be so manly he will suck the body hair right off of
John Wayne and make Chuck Norris weep with envy. He will never show a
single emotion, not even at his grandmother's funeral, and will never
utter a single complaint about your actions... he will simply reach out
of the game, slap you across the face and then take over the party.
The
rest of the party won't mind, and neither will you... because he will
be that awesome. Deep down inside you will resent him, and resent the
fact that every NPC in every town the party enters falls in love with him and not with
you. But that part of you also knows he deserves that love. Even needs it.
I am certain there is not a single fault that you or anyone could find with such a character."

I don't really like that quote. People can not like Alistair (even if they might want to post that elsewhere) or think that he complains or talks too much without automatically wanting him to be the most badass badass that ever lived.inclemency wrote...

And KoP, you didn't miss the prompt. Regular prompts start up again on the 8th, these are just guest ones.

I know they were trolling and I did say that someone posting that here probably wasn't. I did not feel that it was out of line to see a joking DG quote and comment that the quote in general (not the situation it was applied to, the person who quoted it, anything else specific to anything outside of the quote) kind of annoyed me. What is so offensive about doing that anyway? No one here wrote it.I don't think anyone who would post that Alistair is a "whining, babbling idiot..." in the Alistair Gush thread is too interested in having an intelligent conversation, so Gaider's quote works just fine.

Well said, Storm. Clint Eastwood's best character, imho, was William Muny from Unforgiven, and he even whined and cried.
Nope. I can see Battle of Ostagar on the lower line, that's it. Sorry.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

Will I get tarred and feathered if I think that Gaider's comment is hilarious. "Snarky" - yep, that it is. Hi KoP, Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you, too!
It's on my ff.net page. Don't have a convenient link atm. Of course, it's Alistair-centric so you probably won't like that about it. But still. Loghain. Awesome.
