Do you agree with how the Darkspawn DLC portrayed Alistair's choices as leader of the party?

I barely remember it, just remember wishing one of the darkspawn had 'Haste' as a spell...everyone moved too slowly.

From what I read, he would've been better of with elves and mages, since those have ranged attacks. Then again the DLC was made to show the alternative and Alistair not once claims that he's a horrible commander. At least he kept his pant on at the end of the DLC XD

@Kyle - Alistair does seem to be awfully interested in certain sections of the Warden's anatomy quite often, doesn't he?

@Collider - I don't remember the choices he made in DC... I only played it once and wasn't impressed enough to try it again.

Only played it once an don't remember everything...but no. As the darkspawn you fought those allies that made a better dungeon crawl. It had nothing to do with what choices Alistair would actually make.

Speaking of his age, I was always curious about it. I always thought he's in his early 20s, no more than 25 though. Thoughts?

@Kyle - That's about where I think he was eventually supposed to be. However, he started out as older. The Toolset has him at 30, I think, because initially he was supposed to be older and rougher around the edges.

@Kyle - I believe its been said that Alistair is in his early 20s. The toolset says 32, but that was before their current design.

@Kyle - Shale is rarely amused. I'd never taken her into the forest in my initial foray before now. Her telling Celea not to perish because if she did, Shale would overgrown within a month, just cracked me up! I love her.

I kind of like dthe older Concept. This tough general who's Sten like or something, who actually very romantic inside. I'm not saying current Alistair is bad, I'm just saying that that wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Also, Shale is awesome. She makes a kick ass tank if you're a mage and she's pretty strong. Killed Flemeth, when Zevran, Alistair and my warden got knocked out...granted, she sucked down all my deep shrooms and health potions in processes XD

I'm with you, Kyle. I tend to like to RP my characters as older than the norm, so I like thinking of Alistair as older, too. Originally, Gaider said that Alistair was supposed to be a kind of tough guy, maybe even one with a sharp tongue similar to Morrigan's. Anywho... that didn't fly with the test groups so they softened him up. Probably the reason Gaider gets so annoyed when people complain about Alistair being whiney.

I like Shale a lot. I randomly pick my travelling companions because I like to hear the variety of party banter but I do enjoy having Shale in my party... except when I'm doing something where I want everyone using ranged attacks... then she and Monet (dog) can be a bit annoying. lol

I may be incorrect, but I recall reading an article that said Alistair was originally intended to be the Male Warden's gruff (as mentioned in previous comments) bff. So, I'm not sure if he was even a LI in the early development stages.

I like Alistair the way he is, though I probably toughen him up more and sooner in my FF than the game does. And he strikes me more as a 20something than 30something.

Schratty: D'aaw, but that would be awesome. Tough guy boyfriend XD

Tigress: I'll agree, there are moment where Alistair is being imature, but if he was flawless, then he'd be a Marty-Stu XD My usual party consists of Alistair, Zevran and Shale. Two tanks, a rogue and a healer(warden). I alternate Shale with Oghren though, because his sex Ed talk with Alistair is hilarious XD

Also, Perish the thought indeed. Let's go squish something into fine past, that's a girl-ish thing to do isn't it?
