Hahaha yes they do! My character is an Arcane Warrior, Blood Mage, Battlemage with specializations, Mana clash string, Lightning/Ice string, virulent walking bomb, cloud of death and hexes.

My main strategy in any battle larger than 12 enemies or more than 3 Elites+ = SotC, Blood Wound, Virulent Walking Bomb, Cloud of Death. Any enemies left I pick the strongest and give it a Blood Control and let it mop up whats left before finishing it.

those are the specs I gave my Orlesian Warden. My origins bloodmage had shapeshift instead of AW, had cold and the whole of Entropy school, plus walking bomb line. Even without blood magic spells, she ended up soloing the room full of guardian golems in GoA on hard. Entropy and Spirit ROCK.

Couldn't agree more.  That woman wreaked of ****y snobbery.  Her personality along with her screeching  voice makes me want to puke-gag in my mouth.

Can't say I hate Eamon as much.  I mean, he did fix Alistair's mother's locket.  I can only say that I'm disappointed in him for being weak.  Pity him, even.

Honestly, I think that was the only really nice thing he did for Alistair. Everything else...he utterly wrecked Alistair's self-confidence and the Chantry didn't help anything.

I don't hate Eamon, but I'm not his biggest fan, either. Isolde, however... argh. Her voice makes me want to punch kittens.

Also, I saw that Isabella/Morrigan reaction video for the first time just now. "I swear by Flemeth's beard" had me in tears of laughter. Part of that reaction could be a result of me being sick, but still. Tears.

Yeah I can't say I'm a fan of Eamon either, though I think some of you here on the gush thread may have slightly influenced my opinion of him. After reading some posts on the last gush thread I went from total indifference to complete loathing in a couple of pages.

The one thing I don't get about Eamon is that he's supposed to be this strong willed politician that wouldn't stand for any of the ***t that went on with Loghain but as CeboCabo said he is a surprisingly weak character. The fact that he’s not even willing to entertain alternative idea’s to bringing down Loghain other than using Alistair, not exactly a sign of a strong character. I couldn’t help but think ‘So this is the guy who’s supposed to help us bring down Loghain and stop the blight. We’re screwed.’

Don’t get me started on Isolde, if my characters weren’t such softies she’d be sacrificed every bloody time.

*chortles* Not normally very anti-Eamon, but I definitely indulged that side of myself in Mistakes. *goes back to reread the first few chapters and laugh at Eamon*

I'm afraid I do view Eamon through a biased eye because of my own personal experiences with someone in Eamon's position to Alistair. I don't hate Eamon exactly, but I really do dislike him a great deal.

Of all the characters in DAO, the one I hate the most is Isolde, followed by Howe. And contrary to popular belief, I don't hate Loghain, it's a tragedy of what a great man turned into, but I put him down every time because he's like a rabid dog. Put him down fast to put him out of his misery and so he doesn't pose a danger to anyone else.

I have changed which DA charachter I hate the most so many times that I lost track.

At the first it was: Loghain. Then it was: Alistair and Morrigan, then it was: Howe and Cauthrien (still kill her every time).

Now I think its the Architect to be honest.

True enough it was the only nice thing he did (but don't forget there was also that golem doll he bought him).  Although, he never struck me to be malicious enough to be hated.  Okay, he did ruin Alistair's childhood but I think it's mostly a result of him being such a henpecked husband.  I always thought  that if he had the guts to face Isolde's disapproval, he would've allowed himself to be a better father figure to Alistair.   And I know, we can't really know for sure in game; this is just from my own observation when learning about the golem doll and the fixed locket.  And I'm not making any excuses for him - being weak is not an excuse.   But like I said before, I can't really hate the man; he's just a disappointment in my eyes.

See, I can't blame Isolde for Eamon's behavior. I think what Eamon did wasn't done specifically to be malicious, but more in line with keeping Cailan's inheritance and position safe. I don't think he ever intended to be a father figure to Alistair, more like a guardian/caretaker.

Now, sending him to the Chantry...that might have been partly to do with Isolde, especially if it was around the time she became pregnant/gave birth. Then it could be looking on as Eamon making sure his own child's birthright was safe.

@LadyD - Honestly, I always saw Teagan more as a surrogate father to Alistair than Eamon. Especially with how happy he was to see Alistair in Redcliffe. And it was for Alistair's sake, not that he was Maric's son.

@Giggles - Despise works nicely.

Teagan always seemed like he had way more of a spine than Eamon. To me, anyway, especially after watching that cutscene where he calls Loghain on his crap.

For a war hero Eamon really needs to grow a pair to be honest.

Teagan wasn't a political type, I imagine that's why he wasn't afraid to speak his mind.

In all honesty, I'd much rather see Teagan as Alistair's chancellor. He's smart, has a good eye, knows how to care for those under his rule and won't let current politics sway him all the time.

I dunno, you could go either way with that scene.  "If Eamon were here..." is a recognition that he doesn't have the clout his brother has.  But it also sounds like "my dad's bigger than your dad."

Eamon's not really a war hero, though.  They were both boys and raised in the Free Marches while the war was going on.  If he fought at all, it can't have been much.

Haha, here I was all excited that Addai was posting in the Gush Thread, only to find out you're poo-pooing Teagan. This makes me a sad panda, Addai :(

I was always suspicious that Eamon sent Alistair to the chantry as the final move to ensure that he would never be a threat to Cailan taking the throne.

And yes, Teagan seems genuinely happy to see that Alistair survived.  I liked him so much during that whole Isolde/Connor thing.  In fact, I appreciated him more than I did Alistair during that time.  Teagan accepted whatever decision my warden made.  He might not have liked it, but he understood what needed to be done and he supported her and stood up to Isolde about it.  Unlike some people ...  *cough*  ... some people who suggest an action and then after it's done, jump all over my warden about it.

Edit - Addai, we don't see enough of you here!  :)

I have actually opened the "Of elves and humans" doc to write on it...I'm so proud on myself. xD Now I only need to write to break a stalement of nearly three weeks O__O The last time I hadn't written a thing that long I was distracted by the soccer WC and the german national team in summer. So wish me luck, lol. Anyway the search for certain dialogue for my FF has become so much easier since I can somewhat handle the toolset. I love the VO's, very informative at times.

As for Eamon hate....I do. I hate HATE him and would gladly let him pass away if that would be an option...I could do that in my FF, though. But then again will the Lenya's glaring-feast with him be too much fun to let it pass. Oh yes, my Dalish Cookie loathes him...she really does. For various reasons. *whistles*

As much as I loathe Isolde, I could never butcher her, so I was able to avoid that little personality paradox.

Edit: Meri - While I dislike Eamon as a player, Marlana has a deep abiding hate for Eamon and Isolde. Both for what they did to Alistair, and what Isolde allowed to happen to Redcliffe. She also had an extremely hard time believing that Eamon was completely ignorant about Connor.

For some reason I see Sten holding Lenya up by the scruff and her howling at the top of her lungs.

Lenya: ILL KILL YOU YOU, UGLY SHEMLEN.

Sten: <grumble>

Lenya: Put me down Or I will hurt you Sten!

Sten: No.

Lenya: I HATE YOU!

Sten: I know.

I started feeling like that, and I actually bought Civ5 and started playing it.  But there's so many fun mods now, I'm back in DA and wondering how I'm ever going to get all these playthroughs finished before DA2 comes out.  Right now, I've got Cullen in my party and am about to recruit Jowan.  That should create some fireworks.
