Ok so here is my entry:
Sometimes its good to be
king.Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.... left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot, don’t bump the end
table and repeat. The same thought kept going through Alistair's mind as he paced in the small room outside of the hall where... NO. A mental block came out and stopped him from thinking about what was going to happen any minute in the next room.
The sudden desire for air came over him, and clanking in his newly shined up armour Alistair made for the open window like there was a plate of cheese on it. Breathing in the fresh air and calming himself Alistair tried to relax before his... his... wedding took place. Thinking about it was bad enough, but realizing it was moments away was enough to make him want to be sick. Steadying himself Alistair really wished that he had someone to try and calm him down right now, or say something to him to steady himself.
“Great husband material your majesty” a stray thought crossed his mind.
“You can lead men into war, but are almost wetting yourself at the thought of marrying a pretty girl” it concluded. Putting his face in his hands Alistair really wished he had someone on hand to help him out.
Teagan and the rest of the Guerrin’s were in the audience waiting for the main event. As were the rest of his
friends. What he would not give to have Wynne here or to have Zevran or Bob crack a joke to make him laugh.
As if on cue a rapid set of footsteps came down the hall followed by a rapid pounding on the door.
“Alistair!” KNOCK “Alistair!” KNOCK KNOCK “ALISTAIR!” KNOCK!
Alistair moved and quickly opened the door, nearly causing Bob Brosca to land in a heap from his surprise.
“Are all kings so slow on the uptake or something salroka?” the dwarf asked up at him with a smirk on his face.
Smiling down at his friend Alistair felt a lot of tension leave him, and was quite thankful that Bob was here to save
the day.
“We are heading out in a few minutes and I am just doing my part as the best man to make sure you don’t run away” Bob said moving over to sit on a bench.
“I sure as sodding hell don’t want to make... uhm... Eldanor angry” Bob said.
“Its Elanor-“ Alistair started to say.
“I KNOW!” Bob said back cutting him off.
“I got Brother Genitivi’s name right though before I met him” Bob said, “don’t worry so much salroka I won’t forget
her name during the speech, Leliana wrote it on my arm” Bob finished.
Pulling back his left sleeve Bob showed Alistair his now bare arm.
“There is nothing there Bob” Alistair said.
Looking at his arm Bob cursed and pulled back his right sleeve revealing the name Elanor written on it.
“No problems salroka, you see the wedding happens, I make a speech, and then we all get really drunk!” Bob said.
“Well then you have to take Elaner and chase her round the room a few times” Bob said.
“ITS-“Alistair began but soon stopped.
He realized that Bob was now grinning at him, and Alistair realized he had been had by his friend. Soon both of them had started laughing until tears came from Alistair’s eyes and a genuine happy smile came across his face.
“Good to see you smiling salroka, well let’s get this bronto on the road as they say” with that Bob headed to the door and with a wink went out and headed for his place.
Letting the last chuckle escape from his mouth and wiping a tear from his eye Alistair felt much better than before. All in all having a friend like Bob around was helpful.
Bob the best man.
