Yep. Word. Tbh, I'm actually afraid what concerns the DA2 chars so far. Fenris and Varrik are the only characters I remotely like until now ( and Fenris only has an elf bonus with me ) I don't even like Hawke much.This isn't the best premise for getting euphoric about it, really.

Well at least I'll have with Sebastian a char I will love to hate. So yeah for the signature edition, cough

Edit: Tup, I have only seen the little trailer as well. Do you know this feeling in real life when you see someone and thinks: Ugh, I hate him/her? I had that with this character...so yeah. A picture was enough to achieve that with me, however.

Thanks, Queen. It's just that I've never written fanfiction like I have for DAO before this, especially some of the, erm, steamier content. And the only way I could see them topping it is if they had a game based on Alistair again.

I'm not loving or hating anything in DA2 until I play the game.  But with all the great mods coming out for DA:O, I have a feeling I'll still be playing this game.

I'm a little nervous of what Alistair will look like in DA2.  Other than that ... we'll see.

Edit:  I can't wait for the Teagan mod!

I'll still be around when DA2 comes out. I don't intend to abandon my friends. On the other hand, I am looking forward to DA2. I don't expect anything in it to grab me as hard as Origins and Alistair did, but I'll enjoy it.

In other news, I've started my Cousland for the 6th time. It's been so long since I've played the origin that I'd forgotten how hard I loved the Couslands. And fresh Alistair. There's just nothing like it. He's so happy and confidant when you first meet him, and I'm all sad for what's going to come. ( ._.)

Edit:  Also, for those following in the Highever Born group, I believe tomorrow night (Monday) we'll be doing the reveal for the Male Cousland Contest.  I'd suggest 8 PM EST, providing that appears to be a good time for most.

Also, I think DA2 will be ok. The trailers do remind a lot of what the DAO trailers did, and whether the charaters look like that ingame, doubt it. But there is no way there will be characters to replace Leliana or Alistair. For me at least, romancable characters have been around for a while, but none measured up to Leli. I doubt any will come along to match her either. And I think the same can be said of Alistair for many of you ladies and gentlemen.

RE: Abandon Thread/DA 2

I'll probably test the waters in another fandom thread (if that particular character happens to appeal to me. I'll reserve judgment until after I've played the game, however). But Alistair will always be special. As are you all who make this thread so livley and fun.

I'll still be here after DA2...even on the very off chance there is a romance I love almost as much as Alistair. The character is what got me lurking here but it was the thread and the posters that got me to participate...I don't want to talk to anyone else, I want to talk to you guys! If we must move to the DA2 forums then we need to move the thread...we can call it something like "The Gush thread's thoughts on Alistair vs DA2 LIs" that way we can still talk about Alistair and still be on topic.

You are free to RP all you want.    And I don't think your ego is what you need to be worried about them handling gently, boys.  Our judges are very, shall we say, enthusiastic.

I don't think they'll shut the DAO boards down.  That just seems silly to me.

KoP: You can pre-order at a brick and mortar store like Gamestop and pay nothing down.  That gives you time to decide if you want it and still get the signature edition.

Giggles:  Technically, the contest is closed, you if you get me pics, I can still add them.  The judges are still ogling looking the hot beefcakes contestants over, so there is time.  And the more the merrier.

It's going to be more expensive.

If I am sure to get it, it makes more sense to pre-order it.
I am almost sure that I will get it, but I am not that interested.

I preordered Spore and got burned by it.

Also New Vegas had horrific bugs affecting it at release.

I'm relieved to hear that I'll be not the only one that keeps posting here I would miss all of you way too much.

I'm in the same mood, KoP...yet I have preordered DA2 to get my (already) beloved extra character, lol. Anyway I have only done that because the game was so insanely cheap in the UK where I have ordered it (20 Euro only for a NEW game, wow...that's half the price it will cost here in Germany)
