Yes, I'm aware.  My tats didn't cause the problem.  I just want to make sure I don't lose them in a reinstall.  I think I found them, though.  I just don't want to lose all my saves and was hopinh someone here has reinstalled the game and could tell me if their old saves worked all right.

Lady D - you might have a mod that will start the problem all over again even if you reinstall. Probably, it would be a good idea if 1th you take out 1/2 the mods in your overide, see if the LM triggers, if not, try taking out the other half. If it does trigger, cut that 1/2 in 1/2 and keep whittling it down. If its not in the overide folder, then try checking the erf's

Edit:  Re- reinstall:
I switched computers & was able to bring all of my old saves over ok.

I'm gonna try yanking my entire ovveride file, but I think the game is fundamentally broken.  *sighs*  Old saves might not even work.

LadyD, when I had to do that with mine, I made a copy of my entire override folder, zipped it, and placed it on a games folder on my hard drive. Then after the reinstall all I had to do was unzip the file back in like it was never missing.

If the mod idea that Rak suggested does not work, then they may be corrupted. I know that's not what you want to hear, but it's very possible.

EDIT: Before I forget, Sarah that was a nice story to show Alistair's recruitment.
Tigress, loved that. I was even thrown with that twist when her mother showed up. I was expecting a Cousland.

@LadyD - Doing a reinstall won't hurt... don't know if it will fix it, but at worst you'll plug back in your old saves and have to a force load for any missing mods.

Yeah, you'll need to deactivate NB, its not compatible with the pants.

Is it just me or does anyone else think DAA wasn't written very well. If Alistair stayed a GW, there is no mention of him. In fact, your warden is still considered the only living GW in Fereldon which is ridiculous because Alistair in the epilogue of Origins is said to have only left his love's side when he went to Highever to put up a memorial to Duncan, but he was still a GW. In fact, at the end of Awakening your GW and Alistair are never separated again. Huh? Also, I could have sworn the seneschal said it took 3 GWs to end the civil war and the blight when in fact, Riordan wasn't really even a part of that if they're talking about Riordan. I've played DAO 13 times and loved every minute of it and find it difficult to get through 5 minutes of DAA,

If you say that you are going to stay to rebuild the GW's, he doesn't get called to Weisp.  Otherwise, he does.

Also, if you make Alistair king, I think his status as GW is removed, would it not? Being king and GW would prove to be a conflict of interest of sorts.

Actually only in HNF warden ending does Alistair get called away to Weishaupt. He doesn't if he isn't the king which is weird.


If he is hardened, he will surprise many by studying governance, though he still likes to sneak out of the castle to visit local taverns. He will also be willing to continue his relationship with the Warden if it has occurred (if they are not of Human Noble origin). Spending time after with his love before leaving for Weisshaupt - promising to return shortly.
 
If Alistair does not become king, and is in a romance with The Warden, he can stay with the Grey Wardens, not leaving his love's side except to make a memorial for Duncan.

In fact in Awakening, when Alistair is the king, he says that he has to take care of business in the Bannorn.  If he's a GW, which he was in my Dalish elf playthrough, he should still be with the warden.

Some think it's Cailan because, accordint to Anora, he had many women & no know bastards.  I don't realy buy Anora's tale of many women and I think she was the problem.

Anora and Cailan were married for five years and had no children. If both of them were fertile then this is very unusual provided they slept together on a regular basis. Eamon blames the lack of fertility on Anora since he wants a Theirin heir and if Cailan's sterile then that won't happen. Anora says that Cailan had mistresses. We never hear anything about him having any bastards of his own. Therefore, some believe that it was actually Cailan who was sterile. If any bastard of Cailan's shows up or if Anora gets pregnant, we'll know for sure. Until then, it's all speculation thus fanon not canon.
