I had NO idea you could do this. I'm playing a DE who will be romancing Zev and I'm trying to avoid hearing SV's voice as much as possible. So, when I got to the soldier, I just skipped talking to him to avoid the cutscene. I got a little ways past him and I heard a *thump*; turned around and he was dead. Poor guy... he can blame it on SV's voice.

Yeah, I would have never learned it if I wasn't doing everything possible to avoid any more conversation with Alistair than absolutely necessary.  It's the only way I'm going to keep from caving in and romancing him.  LOL

@Maria - That looks a lot like how Alistair looks in many of my attempted screen captures.  He sure blinks a lot, doesn't he?  LOL

@Glor - I'm really sorry to hear that!

Hey, that's like the looks I got all the freaking time in my diced game. It got to the point where when i got the yelling-at-me-in-camp bits, I was all "Hey, it's talking to me!"



I haven't had time to start up another game since then.



Also, my husband wanted to play with the toolset the other day and was very disappointed when my claims that "No, really, your dual core can't really handle it" turned out to be true. So now he's asking if I can find a good deal on a new mobo/CPU (or is it GPU?)



We'd also need a new case since the tower we have is a microATX at the moment.



Not that I don't like PC gaming (I do), but times like these are when I really, really appreciate consoles. Except that we want to play on the PC because the graphics/gameplay are better. Upgrading is just such a pain, though.

So...what's the problem with the duel core you have, anyway? I have a duel-core machine that I built 3 or 4 years ago, and there's nothing I can't do with the toolset, although rendering levels with tons of lights and objects takes a few hours.

It's a matter of patience, I suppose, and being able to view the graphics at better levels than we would on the console version. Part of the reason we'd be playing with the PC version and toolset is to view/experience prettier graphics than on the console and be able to keep up a decent framerate. We can't really do that on the current rig and get a better playing experience, both speed and graphics-wise, on the console with what we have. Our machine is also a mid-2005 machine, so its motherboard and processors are rather on the aged side. We've upgraded the graphics card and RAM as much as possible and the holdout now is the processing capability.

@Ceb - I love "the swooping is bad" screens.

@inquartata - I've been playing DA for a year on an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (single core). The game starts to bog down about mid-way through but I've recently begun using the toolset with no trouble other than slow loading. I dunno... maybe it's just because I don't have anything faster (yet -- I have a new computer coming, with a X6 core no less, in another week or so) and I guess I'll see if the toolset runs any faster once I get it up and going.

@tigress: Yeah, I think if we hadn't played the console version first, it wouldn't matter as much. But since we've played it with good speed and decent graphics, it's harder to compromise when it comes to playing the PC version. But, hey, it's something to look forward to when we upgrade. I'm certainly jealous of your incoming X6!

I love his voice!!  I'm going to miss it in DA2.  I like this show, I'm going to keep watching it.  I think I'm going to develop a crush him.
