Someone else is going to have to explain the technicalities of why they're better (if not like the lcd monitors that Inclemency was talking about which I don't think I've ever seen), I'm afraid. Now, I do know that while text is more pixilated on the LCD, it's also sharper, and they're a software thingy that takes care of the pixilization. Beyond that, I really can't say. I just know that for graphics, which is my primary concern, the CRTs that I have or have seen are better than the LCDs that I've come in contact with. And they're dirt cheap for a good screen size which didn't used to be the case.Somebody wrote...
Arent they like the old tvs though when it comes to fine detail like text?errant_knight wrote...
Really? I did not know this. Still, what I said about crt monitors remains true. I have a two monitor system, with the same graphics card on each (well, very close), and the CRT is miles better.Eber wrote...

There's nothing special about the resolution of my monitor. It's probably that I use a crt monitor, and the picture on crt is MUCH better than lcd, even when viewed on an lcd monitor, which is probably what you're using. lcd just can't match the contrast.alisgirl wrote...
@errant -- Great fire shots! What res. is your monitor, if you don't mind my asking? Mine never turn out that good…
Screenshots are not shots of the screen but rather information gathered from the graphic card so the high contrast of your monitor would not matter. It just makes the screenshots look better when viewed on your monitor.

Ohh I love Cullen. I may or may not have things in the works with him, beyond what I already have. Just sayin.alisgirl wrote...
Agree with Tigress. Just started a mage playthrough and ran into Cullen after the harrowing...had no idea that he would have had to kill me if I'd failed. Of course, most templars probably don't mind killing abominations…part of the job description, no?

@tupp - That is a beautiful shot! I enjoyed that scene with Calea. Now I get to figure out what triggers it for a Cousland.

The Cousland scene takes place at Eamon's Denerim estate and it triggers after you kill Howe. If you talk a maid that is positioned somewhere near the entrance, the scene will trigger. I think that one is my favorite all all the origin scenes.

This isn't a derp, but since people have been discussing IRS lately ... this is one of the special Origin scenes that cme added.
A quiet moment for my mage and Alistair at Lake Calenhad.

And much needed too, since Alistair really shuts down prior to the Landsmeet. I actually got annoyed at him for refusing to talk to me about anything other than the changes to the dining room while at Eamon's estate...like he didn't want anyone to know we were together, which I suppose he didn't. It made me feel "not good enough."

Ohhh!!! It's the only place in the game where I got so furious with Alistair, I wanted to punch him every time he said "they've changed the dining room" But I didn't take it that he didn't want anyone to know we were together. I thought, as we approached the Landsmeet, he went into such an extreme panic attack that he pulled into himself and couldn't talk to my pc.

I don't think it has anything to do with the PC or the relationship. It's about Alistair feeling out of place, out of his depth, and uncomfortable, hardened or unhardened. Luckily, you can make him feel better about things. It can't be about the PC as he does the same thing to a Cousland, who is definately 'good enough' according to Fereldan society, and with males where there's no romantic relationship at all.tuppence95 wrote...

Oh, very cool! Cme and Hilde used the same maid to trigger Zev's scene after killing Howe, as well so I know exactly who you're talking about.
EDIT: @PurpleLady - Very cool! I hope you enjoy your Alistair run as much as I enjoyed my Zev one. Now, I'm hooked on both and am thankful polygamy will work with both IRS-A and ZRS. LOL
