@ Tig - Thanks for the advice. I'm just tidying things up in Orzammar - and picked up Shale's personal quest (can you say avoidance much!) then I'm off the Redcliffe to wake Eamon from his nappy pie. I'll do that.
The Redeemer ending is when you keep Loghain, right? Just can't back myself into that corner. I'm of the (completely unsupported) feeling that what Loghain did at Ostagar was premeditated to seize the throne. Otherwise, why would he hire assasins to kill the remaining Grey Wardens, especially considering one of them has a pseudo-legitimate claim to it (I'm in no doubt he knows of Alistair's paternity). I haven't read any of the books so I'm only going on what I see during game play. Plus, I just don't like him.
My 2 cents in now.
It's cold in the Back of Beyond, too. No snow in the city but we're down to 0 C. Our "blood the consistency of iced tea" can't handle it. I prefer the "surface of the sun" heat we normally have.

@Cat - I hear you and fully understand your opinion (as it was my own for almost a year). I just can't subject Alistair to the DR any more (except with my Couslands and even with them it's ONLY because I want to see that wedding LOL). I really think the DR would tear him up on so many levels. So, I've started taking the lesser of two evils, losing Ali but saving his life without making him do that horrid deed.

You have a point. Even though I
personally like Morrigan, I know how Alistair hates her and how
abhorrent that particular deed would be to him. I've only made him go
through it once (my first play was a male who happily took on that
particular duty), so I may come around to your side of the fence one of
these days after a few more runs. He's so sexy when he's king, though!
Come to think of it, when isn't he sexy?

LOL no, sorry I didn't get caught even almost, I was just messin' honest I love the Smutistair. For kotor I used to do various comedy posts as if all the characters worked in an office.

You know, and this is clearly just my opinion, I know the DR will affect him, but I don't think it'll be that horrible.  If he does the DR, he might have some lingering questions in the future, but he seems pretty fine.  He still has his friend/love and everyone lived.  Comparing that to exiling him, or marrying to Anora after recruiting Loghain, is that really the lesser of two evils?  If you're only concerned with his well-being?  What is the point of saving his life if it destroys who he is?

@LadyD - I can fully understand your position, again, having felt that same way for a year. But, what he does in the DR can't be undone and if that OGB turns out bad, I think it would destroy him. Maybe he won't live long enough to know what he helped create, but I'm just to the point of not wanting to take that chance.

If he marries Anora, or even if he is exiled, he still has a chance to find happiness again... even with the Warden, perhaps. But if he fathers a monster and lives to learn of it, I don't see him ever being happy again. I could be wrong and my canon still includes the DR because I didn't feel this way back then, but nowadays, I have a whole different view of things.

I agree. I have a hard time doing that to him, in my first run I couldnt, and did the Ultimate Sacrifice.

Lol, Alistair died my first run. Didn't do the DR, and took him up with my warden...I was in double shock, the first shock came when he dumped my elf after the Landsmeet!

You're a better woman than, I am!  I started over with a Cousland after he dumped my Mahariel in my first playthrough.  I wanted to be queen, dagnabit!

That's why I learned from all your pain. I added the Alistair marry anyone mod. Of course, it's not anywhere near as gushy as dahlialynne's masterpiece, but it did keep me from getting dumped. I couldn't stand the pain of rejection. I'm not romancing him this time, but he's more like my best friend (I know - I said I didn't talk to him - I lied). Just finished Goldanna the Gold-digger, so he's all set to take over. I love him in his king armor. *SQUEEE*
