Funny, for me it was exactly the other way around. I was bored by the Queenie ending, so I tried something different the second run. And this was the time where Lenya was born. The rest is (not so) epic historyTigress M wrote...

Lol, Alistair died my first run. Didn't do the DR, and took him up with my warden...I was in double shock, the first shock came when he dumped my elf after the Landsmeet!
You're a better woman than, I am! I started over with a Cousland after he dumped my Mahariel in my first playthrough. I wanted to be queen, dagnabit!

As for the Dark ritual, I see a trade here. The trade of the lesser evil to hinder the greater evil which would be one of the Warden's dying. I can't stand this idea, I'm too selfish for that
As for the DR, it's one night that will sting him for a while but I don't see how this would completely destroy him. He gets to keep his girl, can move on with the life he wants and be happy in the long run. Will this decision haunting him for a while? For sure with a lot what if's involved, but eventually will overcome this state. I'm really looking forward to write this part in my FF, because I will have a lot of psychology involved in that. inner fears, resentment and all that sweet stuff.
Anyway IMO, one little act with eyes closed and lots of yucky is less cruel than to destroy his dreams forever with the death of the one, single person he loves.

More to the point I dont trust Morrigan, Flemeth, the Old God, or well anything about it.
The OG is still around and that alone concerns me. Having Morrigan as a mother equally concerns me.

I have to agree with you on that. He starts his life basically not being wanted, gets thrown to the Chantry cause of some selfish twit, finally gets out of the Chantry thanks to Duncan n looks up to Duncan as a fatherr figure cause he's really not had one. If you can call Eamon a father figure, but what kind of gaurdian is he if he throws Alistair out cause his twitty new wife despises Alistair, lame. Then loses Duncan thanks to Loghains treachery n finally finds someone who loves him n not because of his blood and he loves back n finally has a chance for a happy future. That would be pure torture, to take that away from him after everything else he's been through. Can't do it. DR gets done lol.

Aye, I hear you on that. But considering the fact that most of my Warden's are like " I deserve at least a bit happiness, screw the consequences." this is not a big issue for them. If Ferelden etc are going to burn years later due to the OGB then let it burn *shrug* Or they will stand up against the own created evil and correct the past mistakes.Giggles_Manically wrote...

Either way, my chars are off enjoying the life together with Alistair in the meanwhile, blissfully ignoring Morrigan's or OGB's existance and only stressing this subject if there is an urgent need to do so. Just like Buffy once said: If the apocalypse comes, beep me

And because they are tragic figures, they have tragic endings. The same goes for Alistair.
(Besides in the Joining oath (or however its called) it says that they'll join each other after death. Right? RIGHT?)

I have the same problem tbh. Thats why its not such a good thing, my warden is dead.Elysis wrote...
My wardens are selfless through and through. Which is what a Warden is suppose to be.

Honestly I have no problems to imagine that Lenya would be reacting to the first Warden like that:
"Orders? From you? Right. You know, this is exactly the reason I have ended the Blight. To be ordered around now by a stupid person who is calling himself "the first Warden" *rolls eyes* Come Alistair, we are leaving. *grumbles*
Lol, she is special like that.

Hehe, this has always been my motto. If the OGB turns out to be the anti-maker well... at least I'm still alive to fight against it!

Eh... that's if your warden cares about being a warden. Mine doesn't.

Alistair: so now that I am King, I don't think we can be together anymore
Lorialis Cousland: you so did not just say that to me Alistair
Alistair: the thing is now that I am....{{{gargle, gargle, hrmph}}} owy! >>>Alistair dies<<<
Lorialis Cousland: Awww, it fell down.

@Meril : Lenya is awesome like that!
@Zjarcal : I suppose you're right, after all it's all about how you RP you're character! But still, the Warden who doesn't care about being a Warden is still around in Ferelden trying to end the blight. Mind you, that's probably for its own survival.
Never mind me and my idealistic heroism.
@Silver : that's a bit of a harsh reaction to a break up

Well ya know she has killed a lot of darkspawn, blood mages, demons, undead, bandits, bears, wolves, seen her whole family murdered etc etc she's not really a woman you want to break up with in such a "dude I'm the King now so everything we've been through is cancelled" kinda way.

As for the rest it is a matter of preference and RPG'ing. I have selfless Warden's as well, but they are fairly rare and even their selflessness has its limits. Lenya has corrupted me too much for that, I fear xD

Bwahahaha! I can so see her doing that. And Alistair being all, "I... well... okay."Merilsell wrote...
Yep but speaking of my main char, she isn't your typical dutiful Warden. Good in killing things that threatens her life and the ones she loves? Hell yes. Caring about the Warden rules, political games and such? No. She is doing things her way and is enjoying the ride.

First Warden: "Lenya, Grey Warden of Ferelden. You killed the archdemon, yet you live. How is that possible? Explain yourself to me. Now!"
Lenya: "No."
Alistair: *raises an eyebrow and looks at her* "Channelling Sten again, aren't you?"
Okay I'll stop now. :innocent: But after all the depressing stuff in my FF, I just needed that sort of breather. (Thanks for your review btw)

Lol! I got so mad at him in one game that I made him marry anora, kept Loghein alive and did the US ending as a 'so there', be miserable
My Warden takes the blow and sacrifices herself, placing Alistair's happiness above her own. Love is (can be?) foolish.
