"wow...maybe he will after all"
(This is Tess Cousland, she'll be the true mistress ending, since it leaves her being kinda pushed out in the epilogue she'll be free for other endeavors in the future. Also thanks to cme for the xtra scenes;)

All I can say is wow, I absolutely loved it. It brought a tear to my eye. It's really awesome to see how much IRS Alistair has grown, and to see that people use and appreciate it. I spent 7+ months on the mod, and it really feels awesome to see it like this. Seriously, good work on the video.

@Merilsell I won't be going anywhere either, have only been playing DAO for two months and have more playthroughs to do and lots of FF to read and maybe write. But I'm hoping that DA2 is good enough to at least distract me!
For me, it's more of me saying goodbye to my warden rather than Alistair. I don't like the way her story wrapped up in Witch Hunt and the writing was on the wall when DG said all companions had their own resolution in origins (save for Morrigan, where Witch Hunt's primary purpose comes in). I'm happy with my default Aeducan and my default Brosca so I consider myself done with DAO. (I've played at least 12 dwarven games, not counting my non-dwarven runs -- have played the hell out of it. =p) I just haven't posted in this thread because talking about DA2 has mostly been discouraged and it does run the risk of going off topic and getting the thread locked. The DA2 forums should get better when the game launches and there's more categories added so I will definitely see some of you on the other side!Merilsell wrote...
Well normally I'm one of the few still very active in the thread but you know...busy days and such. Also I'm yet not finished with DA:O since I only have it since 2 months for the PC...and there is also a monster-seized FF I need to finish. And I won't be when DA2 is out, so I'm going nowhere. Especially not in that scary DA2 forumLady Jess wrote...
With DA2 coming, and having finished my saddest playthrough yet, and this thread slowly dying. I feel like we're really saying good bye to our guy.I'm semi looking forward to DA2 now since the demo (still hate these artificial Devil May cry battle animations) but I'm excited about its story and new lore. Alone for that I will play it...but I will never stop playing DA:O -- of all games I have played this is my all-time favorite EVER. And with 20 years of playing this says a lot. Never had I a game that drew me so in like DA:O and for that I will love it all my life.

@Jess - I had a list of things I wanted to do before DA2 got here but I realized a couple weeks ago that I was no longer having fun playing DAO because I kept worrying about all the stuff I "had" to get done. So, I abandoned a playthrough I was in and decided to replay my canon with no purpose in mind other than to enjoy the game again.
Much more fun and much less stressful. I figure if I like DA2 enough to explore different imports and decide I want a specific import, I'll just go back to DAO and do it, then. I've got quite a few different DAO endings already, so I'm just not worrying about the rest of my "to do" list.
I'm also considering playing my first run of DA2 without importing anything, just to see what the writers have in mind as the "default". Not sure if I'll do that yet, but I am thinking about it.

PS -- I think the thing that most surprises me is that early on, I used to get crap for sparing Loghain and doing that to poor Alistair, but now there's a ton of people with drunkenstair endings ready to go first thing. =p

That is part of the WTF for me, really. Given, I wasn't in the forums prior to DA:O launch and hence dunno if there was such "the sky is falling" mentality either...or squeeing over a character I know next to nothing about too, but I find especially the last point... scaryGilsa wrote...
DA2 forums are a different beast. There are weekly prompts for characters we know very little about. =p
LOL, I remember that, too. I used to be bemused with the constant bumping of the earliest thread and wondered why they just didn't take it to a group. People wanted one for Alistair and there were a couple false starts and I wouldn't contribute to it because hey, groups are still over there, but after a while, screw it. If you can't beat them, join 'em.Addai67 wrote...
A lot of the gushing protocol was originated in the Zevran thread, I think. They were the first here, and also the first to do prompts, which is now like- mandatory. They also originated the ToP protocol and daily themes. But I suppose the idea of fan threads might have carried over from the ME boards?

It didn't die. It's just busy holding back the darkspawn while surfacers sip wine and gossip about Hawke's rise to power. =p

Oh, yeah, I'll be checking in here for two possible Alistair outcomes: 1) Cousland marriage ending and 2) GW ending. I don't have either. I only have one game where he rules as sole king. Rest are him married off to Anora.cmessaz wrote...
I bet once people see Alistair's cameo in DA2 they will post about it in here.
