I feel even though I skip through every single conversation line (Which I do) it's better than not doing it at all, then my game is incomplete and "dirty".

My cross-stitch is having some issues but when it comes to getting the prints into the pattern I am a masterful genius.

I have crafted a Warden who followed the Warden mantra of "Whatever it takes to stop the Blight", only deviating once from that by not trusting Branka with the creation and caretaking of the Golems so he sided with Caridan. I reach a cross road -
Does my character allow the possible loss of most of the Grey Wardens in Ferelden again, at least as far as he knows, by staying to defend a city that is by all reports nearly over-run and if anything probably rampant with the Blight sickness by the time you get there or does he do what is necessary to preserve the Grey Wardens by ordering the Burning of Amaranthine and rushing back to Vigils Keep to prepare the Defense?

Beaonna Auducan and Ali sharing some private time away from the others

they are heading for the Urn at the moment, but apparently the deep roads have scared Ali so much that he's now in a permanent fighting stance. lol

I know that in the story I write there's gonna be a huge conflict over this, but for the game I'm just going to torch the city and rush off to preserve the forces needed to help end the Thaw and not allow another Ostagar.

Ok Alistairians, I need some guidance and advice.

Not an Alistairian, but I could give my input.
Both decisions can be argued from a strictly Warden pragmatist perspective. If we simplify, it's a question of short vs long term implications.
Your Warden saving the Vigil means you are saving the Wardens and a large chunk of your army (especially if you didn't deploy them in Amaranthine) and destroying two darkspawn armies. But, it would cripple Amaranthine (unless you invested in protecting the trade routes, which makes the Vigil the most important commercial hub, which could be a good thing from a Warden's perspective) and will further tarnish the already bad reputation of the Wardens (aka less stipends).
On the otherhand, saving the city of Amaranthine means you are boosting the order's popularity and potentially pleasing the First Warden who wants to show that Wardens can be capable rulers. But you are committing ressources to fighting one darkspawn army and leaving the other, and abandonning a good chunk of your army and your fellow Wardens. That said if you leave for the vigil, you might be wasting a huge opportunity offered by the Architect attacking the Mother (you have no idea if going back to the vigil wouldn't force you into a protracted siege).
So that choice has several implications, short term vs long term, as well as military factors. Of cours most of them don't matter at all sadly, but still, it's cool to rp that way.

See, in the story Im trying to write (Mahariel Mage) he is going to have had ignored his morality in favor of what he thought was best used to stop the Blight (except Branka as explained before) but once the AD dies, things happen with Morrigan, and Alistair is crowned, he takes off without a word with his Mabari and Sten, leaves Ferelden to go wandering because he can't deal with the things he had to do during the Blight, only stopping after he's been through Seheron, the Anderfels, Antiva, Nevarra, Tevintier, and finally Orlais before coming back to Ferelden after getting a grip on things.
Cue the events of Awakening (obviously not 6months after the AD) and he's being forced to confront another Blight-like situation and I'm not sure whether that character will be able to turn his back on Amaranthine. As the character I'm playing is the basis for the character I want to write, this part of the game is kind of important >.<

Alistair: Yes, at my expense. *crosses his arms*
Warden: There was no harm in it. Even Sten and Wynne were part of it.
Alistair: Sten, I had no idea could even crack a smile let alone a joke. But Wynne... that hurt the most.
Sten: *eats a cookie silently*
Zevran: It is but a few letters stitched across a tunic, my scruffy faced Templar.
Alistair: Okay you can just stop that, and besides it is what the letters represent that is - that is - deeply offensive.
Zevran: Ah but isn't half of Ferelden suffering from some form of illiteracy, my golden-haired Prince?
Alistair: Again, stop that, and --
Wynne: My dear Alistair, it isn't even for you. This debate is over. Now Warden, if you wouldn't mind taking this over to your underdressed - friend, over there.
Warden: It wouldn't be Feast Day if we left anyone out of the gift giving.
Alistair: She is going to hate you for this - just as much I do, right now.
Warden: Great. Now you'll both have even more in common.
Alistair: What?!
Shale: Shush, I believe this is going to be slightly amusing.
Leliana: Wait - what? What is happening over there?
Zevran: Morrigan scrunched her lovely countenance as if Ohgren had just passed her by.
Ohgren: *passed out next to Leliana's tent*
Shale: So she didn't like it, hmm?
Zevran: Much like her passion for our fearless Leader, the tunic is now burning in a most fiery fashion.
Wynne: *sighs*
Leliana: There, there, Wynne. It is the thought that counts.
Alistair: You are all - terrible, terrible people.
Dog: *snuffles at some of Sten's crumbs*
Zevran: Ooh, the Warden, he returns.
Leliana: How did it go?
Warden: How do you think?
Everyone: *but Sten and Ohgren look at him expectantly*
Warden: *sigh* Morrigan, obviously not a fan of any kind of religious tradition, was curious as to the stitched in lettering.
Alistair: W - W - A - D. Ugh.
Warden: Yes, "What Would Alistair Do?"
Shale: And?
Warden: Her response was, "Jump into the nearest open flame."
Sten: *begins to slightly choke on cookie crumbs*
Everyone: *looks at Sten*
Sten: *clears his throat, turns away from the group*
Zevran: Anyway, did my eyes not detect a bit of a passionate embrace towards the end of that little exchange?
Warden: Ah yes, I - uh - gave her... my gift.
Alistair: And what was that some orphaned child's still beating heart?
Warden: Close. It was a fetish doll - made roughly in your likeness. A "place for my pins", she said.
Wynne/Leliana: *stifle their giggling and laughter*
Zevran: How thoughtful.
Shale: *sighs*
Alistair: Terrible people, all of you. I could've been bossing around some Mages or guarding a Chantry, but nooooooo, I was too good for a life of drudgery filled with quiet celibacy. So you really want to know 'What Alistair is going to do?'
Zevran: Go somewhere quiet and die of embarassment?
Alistair: MAKER'S BREATH!
Zevran: What? I ruined your joke. I am most sorry. Here let me kiss it and make it so much better.
Alistair: Get away from ME! Worst Feast Day... EVER!
