And because of my choice to save Amaranthine I just had one of the best epilogues in a game ever. Amaranthine was greatful and rebuilt in a year, The Keep held out for a week and the horde broke on its walls. Justice' head was removed (but we all know where he's going), Valenna disappeared, Anders left the Wardens for two months before returning and deciding to make it his home for ever more (lies!), Oghren rallied the last defense and woke up a hero + took a bigger role in his childs life, Nathaniel decided the life of the Wardens wasnt for him, but his nephew became a Warden Commander some day, Architect and Mother dead, and I disappeared to go search for Morrigan.
~~~~~~~~
and now to just do Witch Hunt, and I do believe I'll be ready...
Though I may leave to chase Morrigan, I know I will return to go through the Calling with my Brother in Arms. So mote it RP.
Well, I actually think it is good that his appearance is short. I don't really want them touching my wardens story in DA2 lol.
I would have preferred to have a side quest with him, or else for him to be important in some way in DA2 events if he's king or Warden, or some way to affect him if he's a bum.
Moi aussi... A character important to so many femme gamers and they just drop him... It stinks!:sick:
Well that is the rule of having new shiny toys. See how many have leaped on Fenris already, despite knowing so little about him.
Idk, I don't understand why I can't like Alistair AND the DA2 lis. I really have no need for my Hawke to get involved with him...I mean drunkistair maybe but beyond that, no. A cameo is good. TBH I'm looking forward to "fresh game" ;)
Honestly, I call bull on those audio files. And so what if a character is popular? If they retcon a character because he's popular it detracts from the original plan of a story, and I'd prefer it if they keep it the way they planned it to be.
I'm not going to rule out anything until I play the game, but I guess they don't want Alistair to mention too much about himself because that might detract from the way players imagine him to be with their Wardens post-Blight and thus another reason to argue.
Or simply because there is nothing interesting he can offer anymore. Trying to extend a character's role, just for the sake of making him show up every time, is just going to cheapen him.
With Morrigan, we knew her story was far from over, in fact it kind of began. Alistair's story on the otherhand is finished and there is very little that needs to be added.
Oh, I am too, and I'm on the Fenris train.  But I had hoped for a little more than we got in Awakening, especially since they teased us by saying they had considered an Alistair DLC.  Oh well... glad he's got a cameo at least.
But his story is not over, any more than Morrigan's is- assuming he lived through the end of Origins.  It ain't over til you're dead.  Just look what they're doing with the (spoilers ommitted) mage.  Granted, they can only go so far before they impinge on possible Warden outcomes.  It might be a case of "be careful what you wish for."
You're honestly comparing him to Morrigan, who is connected to Flemeth (who is crucial), had her own DLC, possibly raising the OGB and knows about what will happen in the short future? Add to that that he can die and she doesn't.
That mage didn't have enough development time when he first showed up (Alistair had plenty), and during that game there were hints of something to come. Plus, he fits into the whole chantry vs mage conflict.
Yes, Alistair's story is practically over. There is nothing interesting to add, unless they want to extend his role just so he can show up again, making the whole thing feel cheap and unnecessary. And yes stories can and do end before people die. At least interesting ones.
I, am gonna have to agree with KoP on this one. I'm not sure with all of the options they gave us for Alistiar, that there is really anything they could add. If they did add him a lot in DA2, then you would get people complaining that it didn't fit what THEY wanted this and that. It's really a no win situation.
But anyway, on with the Alistair gushing!
I disagree.  I wonder why you visit this thread so often, is it just to annoy people?  You're like an unwanted visitor who doesn't wipe his feet before going into someone's home...
So...don't buy it? Nobody is forcing you to. I don't see what the issue here is.
@Maria: That's a bit harsh don't you think? Why not take your personal vendetta against KoP elsewhere? And he is right in a sense. You can't just keep milking something until it's milked dry. In the end it just turns into bad writing, and I don't want that.
