Perhaps some kind soul will do a DA:O face mod for DA2 and then all will be right in the world again.

Maria, that is true and I love Valentine for his delivery...but I can't shake off the feeling that the overall dialogue is (going to be) cheesy in this game. At least of what I have seen from it so far (romance scenes etc). I hope I'm wrong, really. Maybe it is the voiced PC, maybe it just needs time to adjust to it...but then again in ME it felt more...natural to me somehow. Hmm.

Well having played for several hours now, I love my voiced Hawke. She's just...cracking me up. Whoever her actor is did a good job. She's being a complete smartass the whole game by choice just because I like the delivery. haven't seen Alistair yet,  but meh, not playing it for THAT. If I need my fix I have Origins.

No romance yet...dammit. I keep getting distracted.

Hmm then on the other hand ...I have only seen M!Hawke videos so far and his delivery is just plain awful/awkward. I can't help myself, I'm a huge dialogue geek (as my FF is a testimony of that) and at every bad dialogue/delivery I die inside a little.

Thats the problem with every face in DA2 though, every single person has that bloated chubby cheek, overly rounded jaw and the noses are all basically the same, and everyone has the dead zombie eyes. The new face morph system is really terrible- I have no clue why they did what they did when the old character look so bad in it. *sigh*

For the nice responses she sounds kind, for the smartass responses, wonderful deadpan delivery. I haven't "OMG" and "HOLY SHHHH!!" this much over a  game...ever. And that includes Origins.

And my F!Hawke disagrees with "Hideous" as mentioned about morphs. She feels quite pretty thank you. And I LIKE that she doesn't have a skinny face with prominent cheekbones. She looks like she actually EATS.

Alistair would approve +10.


He'd have to, she's like his chancellor's cousin or something.

I wouldn't mind an older looking Alistair, but the face has no life in it.  I watched the clip, so it's not that it's a derp shot, watching it looked even worse - so expressionless.  And your Lady Hawk is very pretty, but it is very hard to get anykind of unique look to the ladies.  I have seen good results with the guy Hawks, but the women look like slightly different variations of eachother with different hair, IMO.  I tried all of the different presets on the CC, and they all led back to the same face.  looking at others hawkets, they look like they would be mostly indistinguisable if they had the same skin tone & hair.

Actually, I'm enjoying my male Hawke. He's my favorite NPC. He feels more like a pre-existing character over whom I have more control of the others, rather than 'me', like the warden, but I quite like the voice acting. I'll never feel that a voice acted character who goes on at length in ways I didn't actually tell him to is a character I'm creating, though.

Eye shapes are very limited, there's less control of nose, mouth and jaw shape--the CC is just not as versatile. That being said, it's improved since the demo. It was less difficult to make a passable looking Hawke.

I don't mind an older Alistair either but personally, to me it looks like as if Alistair has been spending his spare time on a Botox farm. Much. There is no life in his face, no expression just the dull, blank face with a still awesome voice in that clip. The thing is SV's voice and THAT face doesn't work/fit together (for me) at all anymore. I could stomach those bloated cheeks, if...IF his face would actually show any signs of life while talking.

But it FRIKKIN doesn't.

And this is what gets me.

I mean just compare his appearence above to that screenshot below and you'll get my major gripe. The new pancake-face-morph system is another story, however.

Yeah, while from what I've seen of DA2 armor and clothing is a vast improvement over the original, the faces I'm rather unimpressed with, and vastly prefer DAO's. DA2 faces seem a little too Hollywood/anime' for my tastes. Alistair looks more like Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots all tanned and tarted up after coming off a 3 month drug binge. It just doesn't seem to capture Alistair's personality, even a drunk-istair.

Though I'm pretty to happy to hear Valentine's still got the touch, and DA2 Alistair at least sounds and feels like his older self. So far, most things I've seen posted about DA2 seem to be pretty positive, which is certainly hopeful.

Anyways, speaking of awesome armors, a couple days ago I asked people here who used the Phoenix armory and Universal Dye kit about the whole screwy tintmap/inky stockings problem, and others did, but didn't know what caused it.

Anyway, when you unzip the fines, and it tells you to copy that one particular folder to medium and high folders for the textures in the mod? Well, that's the problem, copying the whole folder to those subfolders, you have to instead copy the file itself, minus folder, the medium and high subfolders. Once I figured this out, the Phoenix Armory armor becomes a dullish grey, meaning it's original tints have been stripped, and it will now take dyes properly.

So, I went from my Warden pulling her hair over this sloppy mess:

To this, A Warden who can now dump bodies down Chantry wells in style wearing her neat and properly tinted armor, while Zevran and Alistair ponder why they never before noticed how much buttcheek the Dalish leather armors display:
