It's just a disappointment.  I used to make fun of my husband's games where the women were nothing but ****** and big ass.  DAO was a game where I felt like you could play a female PC and take her seriously.

If there's a toolset and tmp is still modding, it won't be much of an issue.  I just shake my head that we were worried about the game being Mass Effect-ized and didn't realize they were aiming the bar even lower than having the camera up Miranda's rectal cavity.  FemShep at least looks like a soldier.

I don't know, I guess it's just not on my list of top concerns is all. I've played many games in my life and big boobs are kind of just normal in games, so I guess I'm just used to it. Not that I don't understand people's issue.

Yeah, I'm nervous about that too, actually. But I was overjoyed to hear more of the Dalish lore, perhaps-- hence my squeal. I just hope they won't screw the Dalish up. I don't need blond battle clown-eared chicks with giant boobs to replace my  normal looking but BAMF- Dalish girls, really.

Since BROS make up the majority of gamers to them, they will bend over backwards to make a game just for them.

Damn, the first Gaider Q&A starts right around the time I'm supposed to leave.  Turns out we've got a triple play reading and then out to dinner.  I wonder if I could watch it on my iPhone?  Think my husband would be embarrassed if I sit there with headphones on, watching Gaider instead of the actors?

I have similar concerns.

I bet the introduction of new female conpanions goes a lot like this -- First the money shot -> ("Big Boobs") Followed by a slowmo bounce, then the camera pans up to the face to reveal the new LI.

If they can avoid intros like that, I can live with the big boobs for awhile ... at least until the toolset comes out and that we can get rid of them.

Actually, and I might be coming over all oldskool feminist here, but Germaine Greer has the right of it in The Female Eunuch where she observes that men get off on things that inhibit female movement: short tight skirts, high heels, big boobs...

Eh, it's cynicism.  I think it's funny that I came to DA thinking it was a fairly intelligent, literate game that seemed designed in many ways to appeal to a female gamer, and someone in marketing obviously caught wind of women playing and enjoying the game and said "we must put a stop to this!"

I'll probably still play it eventually.  I paid 20 bucks for The Witcher and it's a male softcore pornfest too, but mildly entertaining.  So I'd pay 20 bucks for DA2.  I might even go 40, since I paid that for freaking Awakening.

I don't remember what question prompted it but he said they were laughing over the Alistair breakup, and then he added (no doubt playing CYA) that the women writers were laughing about it.
