I wrote a bit of ff about my Beyona Auducan and Alistair. (it's just her internal struggle with falling in love with a human.) It's my very first thing I've written in a very very long time(and the first fan fic EVER) Beyona has been in my head for several days so I had to finely get her out of there.

if you want to read it:
http://social.biowar...692/blog/16619/

and top of page.

well here is the couple in question.  Beyona and Alistair sharing some quite time together.

I say go for it! It might actually help you overcome your lack of confidence.  Read stuff that's been written to work out where you want to go and take it from there. I'm 47 and I only began writing last year thanks to DA:O :D

Thanks Maria, I have stopped in from time to time to share some screen shots, but I mostly hang around the Zev thread. Beyona on the other hand is deeply in love with Alistair. :D

Also Errant, is Kaillan(sp) your dice warden? Because it seems to me that if it is you're doing a lovely job of using fanfiction to eviscerate her :D

I also love the creepy warden take.  It's a nice change from the holier than thou wardens.

Ha, DA: O inspired me to start a bunch of short stories which I'm planning to use as part of the Creative Writing segment of my degree (yes, it's English). The male protagonist is a sexy elf so you can see the Zevran influence, and my female protagonist has elements of Zevran, Leliana and my City Elf Warden who was in love with Zevran - I was deeply disappointed that they weren't guaranteed a future together at the end of Origins! There is no Alistair character as yet but that may come in time, who knows...

QFT
I tend to dismiss these wardens... And air quote them. But that's a whole other topic.

Just finished DA2 (yaaay) and now I'm launching back Origins. You know, 'cause I miss Ali:wub: and I need another import for DA2
..What? I like a talking PC! And see the face of the character I've created!

Edit : Errant, read your whole part 1 this morning. LOVED it! And I love Kallian. But that's because I have a misplaced love for villains. Not that Elissa is uncool. Well, you know what I mean.

I dont know why I bother defending Origins in the DA2 forum, it's just a cliched poorly written story to a lot of them.

*facepalm* Ah well, I'm off to go play Genevieve Cousland, the future Queen of Ferelden.

You actually went on DA2 forums, and actually defended DA:O? Actually?
That's courageous.

Elysis - She was talking about how cliche DA:O was and how it was a ****ty story and blah blah blah. I went through a description of each main treaty area, Loghain, and the Archdemon to show exactly why it was epic and so much more than the cliche nameless enemy she made the whole plot out as... and she just called Orzammar, Redcliffe, Brecillian Forest, and Circle Tower side quests.

@et al It's weird to play a female! I keep going "Wait a second.... I'm being flirted with. Howe is making eyes at me. Alistair is making eyes. What the hell is going o... oh wait, boobs. Hehe, boobs."

Well, the main story of Origins, that is defeating the Blight, is indeed nothing special and a tad cliche. What makes Origins great are all the subplots (from each treaty quest), the civil war subplot, and of course, the companions.

But I won't disagree with the claim that the main story of defeating an ancient threat driven by some evil power, is indeed cliche.

Oh I know that it is a cliche - but the problem was that to disparage the entire game as crap because the defeating an ancient threat of evil was the end-game was dumb and then that made me a poor gamer who didnt appreciate originality blah blah Ive heard it all before :-p

and yes Elysis, boobs are indeed powerful. I win now! I'm having trouble making the decision of what I'm going to do with Conner- in my mind he'd remind her of Oren, so that won't be a kill connor episodic issue

My boys love DA2 and they can have it. I love my DA:O and Alistair way too much. So back to Arwen Cousland my PC version while they play the other on the PS3. I do wish I had the hair choices that are in DA2. Just can't get the hair mods to work on the PC version. =(

Also it's fun to take Oggie with you in the gauntlet and in the Fade. He has some funny remarks. Only did it on one run thru though because I love having a certain ex-templar. Image IPB

I am really wishing I'd bought this game early last year. Missed so much and now everybody is off playing DA2.

You know...playing DA2 makes me aware of how MUCH I miss Dragon Age. And I mean the real one...not the spin off, Bioware throw out this month. I miss Alistair, Lenya, Morrigan, Zevran, Shale, Dog (the mabari in DA2 is nothing but a cheap copy), hell I even miss Wynne's constant nagging. So right after I finished Hawke's soap opera I could not care less about (I even laughed when that happened to Bethany) I will run back into the shelter of Alistair's arms and the awesomeness that DA:O is. There are many mods I haven't even tried yet, so yeah. :wizard:

A pity that so many here are off chasing the new shiny things, though. Ahh well, I'm not leaving my second living room which is that thread behind. <3

My monster FF will keep my love for DA:O alive for a long time still after all...and there also is Alistair, whom I now even more appreciate than before. And my character Lenya whom I love to pieces unlike the bland Hawke I somehow click through her story without real attachement. :ph34r:

Gang of awesome:

And now I shall return to write my next OEAH- chapter. B)

I love both for different reasons. I definitely want to play Origins again since I have 3 Origins stories that I haven't taken all the way and 2 archdemon finales I've never done. Never had the heart to sacrifice Alistair (I did the ritual in game 1 and game 2) and when I was going to sacrifice Loghain in game 2 I changed my mind at the last minute and did the ultimate sacrifice instead. So I've got both dwarven storylines to play throughout and the Dalish elf too. I've also got a load of the gender specific stuff to experiment with too! I'm doing Origins with a personal import this time via the Warden who married Alistair)) but with other games I have and am waiting for to alternate with, I expect to be loving Origins for a long time yet!

@Glor : About that Connor issue. My Cousland was reminded of Oren too when she say him. And it pained her to see such an innocent boy like this, specially because she had just come from the Circle. She killed him. The drama in this scene is amazingly well written, but also Elizabeth in her head figured it was too much of a bet to leave and come back. Anything can happen with an abomination, and too many people had already died. But it all depends how you RP your PC of course ^^

@Meril : I like DA2 for the only reason that my PC can finally TALK. But yes, I'm still going back to Origins because I love it to death. Also because Alistair = Love.

@Marie : I sacrificed Alistair in my last playthrough. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Would have been worse though if there had been an actual execution scene. But there isn't so...

Ha, I just don't like killing the characters I like i.e. Zevran and Alistair, but I do want the achievement so I'll have to do it at some point. Unfortunately my first attempt at an evil warden didn't quite pay off, so I will have to make another one be fully evil. It's hard for me not to befriend the companions if I can (though I find it easier to befriend them in DA:O than in DAII in which my relationships are mostly stuck around neutral due to erratic choices!)

@Elysis, that's the mindset that my Mage wardens always have - Abominations are too dangerous to leave to their own devices... but I think that the shock of seeing someone so innocent like Oren is going to make her use Blood Magic or risk a run to the circle.
~~~~~~~~~~
I got it Jon, wasn't insulting :P
HAHAHA! Just got back from final play run in one city to see men playing female wardens. Glor and Jon, you have now discovered a woman's most powerful weapon. "The boob". We are far more sophisticated and intelligent than the humble mammary gland, but we use the most efficient tool available. Men are transfixed by them. It took me many years to learn that my above average intelligence paled in comparison to my above average cup size. Once I realized how to use that tool....the sky was the limit. Men are not rocket science - they are breast junkies.
edit - To make it clear, I frequently play male characters, so I have walked in the other shoes, too. Alistair is always my best buddy and I enjoy that kind of frienship too.
