Hehe, Schratty's Elvistair - what they based his DA2 model on, evidently.

Although I still go with the nintendo-man theory myself, that picture is pure WIN. <3

Bleh...

Edit: Did I hear someone saying SMUT?...okay... :D

Whereas warden Alistair's appearance is short but sweet... King Alistair's is meatier...

Plus with King Alistair you get all those little comments in the background, about the elven mistress and that he's not doing too badly. It seems he's pretty admired among the Ferelden refugees...

AND

If you have the Sebastian DLC at one point in act III you can suggest to him he go back and reclaim his birthright and he says something along the lines of "Like King Alistair" Hawke expresses surprise that he is familiar with King Alistair and Sebastian says something like "Oh, I've been reading up on him, he's a bit of a role model".

Actually, I'll take Sebas along to meet Ali and see if there's any further interaction.

You mean that banter between Aveline and Sebastian? He says the same thing about "Warden Alistair".

How...confusing. Wait, I guess Sebastian could be equally interested in an heir who gave up his claim as one who took the throne. Depends on which of his duties seems primary at the moment. Guess Alistair gets to be a role model, either way. He'd think that was very funny--then it would scare the hell out of him. ;)

Errant, Remnants Enduring is amazing.
If only I wasn't dumb and could read more than one chapter an hour.

That's not dumb--the second half won't be out for 8 months or so. You're making it last. ;)
I'm so glad you're enjoying it!

I have no idea why but I was inspired to attempt to turn some of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme into being about Alistair... this is all I got so far:

Now this is a story all about how
His life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute, just sit right there
And tell you how Alistair became the King of Ferelden

In Red Cliffe Village born and raised
In the stables is where he spent most of his days
Chillin out all orphaned, relaxing all cool,
And just rollin' in the mud, playin' the fool
When that Orlesian **** got up to no good
Started making trouble in the neighborhood
He threw one lil tantrum and Eamon got scared
And said "You're moving to the Chantry elsewhere in Ferelden"

In my latest playthrough (finished last night) Alistair sacrificed himself. I didn't set out to do that, but that speech... how he convinces you that it's the best thing to happen, oh I confess - I cried! I don't think I can do that again - really did just for the trophy, so next time Alistair will bloody well stay home!

Alistair: Always an inspiration...

It was you Esbat or was it Rage? Who came up with WWAD? [What would Alistair do?]

I had an import where Alistair left Ferelden to drown his sorrows. He was still mentioned as "Warden Alistair" by Sebastian, something about how he was inspired by the story. ^_^ (I hope not too inspired, choir boy. Wouldn't want you ending up a desillusioned drunk.)

Does anyone know if there is a problem on Fan Fic, I keep getting an error when I try to add my new chapter?

Yes, there is. If you go up a level and to the community creations part of the forum, you'll find a workaround. You'll know when you're there, because you'll see a bunch of posts where I didn't get it and it was explained to me. ;)

Andraste's scorching sandals, I spent the better part of a month (and maybe more) reading this thread from front to back. It's like a rickroll, except with Alistair and co. and you're trapped all day. Huh. Alistair-roll, perhaps?

Anyway, since I don't want to sound like I'm just here to toot my own horn:

Can I ask one of you lovely peoples, is there an official Alistair group outside of the main forum?

I think I posted a quick dialogue-only scene about a Feast Day Gift for Morrigan that was a tunic with WWAD? stitched on it by Wynne.

Ok... so OFT, but I have a question.

Are any of you computer savvy? As in, if I show you my specifications on my computer you can tell me what would be good to look at upgrading etc etc? I'm at the point where I can start planning a budget, and I'd like to do that while factoring in saving up for upgrades to my computer so I can play some games....

Sorry, can't help you with that. I'm glad that my comp does function as it does, lol.

Anyway I made a DA2 marathon to finally beat that game and yeah...what shall I say?

I facepalmed very very often during these hours. The endfight is....well...I have seen something like that in a JRPG the last time. That fight has been all too much and borderline ridiculous imo...and those constant waves of enemies thrown at me ALL THE FRIKKIN TIME (the whole game not just at the end)? *headdeask* headdesk* Argh. Very annoying. It is an more an mindless Action-RPG than anything with some good scenes where I saw the class of old Bioware shining through.

Don't get me wrong it IS a decent game due to a few characters ( Fenris, Aveline and Varrik <3) and the Dalish lore within but in a whole very, very forgettable and nothing special. I have seen that in other games already and better executed at that.

And I want to strangle Anders and Merrill now...SO VERY MUCH. *raaaageeee*

Well...back to Origins. :wizard:

This isn't an easy question to answer, Glor. How comfortable are you with opening that puppy up and telling me what kind of RAM you have, the number of slots and of what size? Easier--what's your processor speed and your graphics card? Just PM me. I'm no expert, but I should be able to tell you if you should upgrade or spring for a new one. PM me about it.

DA2 discussion is probably best left to the DA2 boards, Somebody, except as it relates to Alistair. For one thing, it would be sad if the DA2 wars started up here, too. It's mighty ugly.

Here's an old toolset pic (need to make some new ones that don't relate to my story.) The Cousland PC returning the family sword to Fergus.
