Oh blast, ToP?  Well, since I was talking about Esra, I should dig down and find one of hers.

Well, he's really the second to know. Or third if we're counting Flemeth...

That'll teach me. No liquids anywhere near my computer from now on.

I was staying away from this thread this morning because I'm trying to take my Alistair-backstabbing, Morrigan's ring-wearing, Loghain-sparing, Anora-wedding HNM through Awakening.

More stamina than I have.  I can't spare that **** no matter what PC I am on.  My HNM still married Anora and Alistair was SO FREAKING happy at the end it was totally worth it.  He treats the whole thing like he 'dodged a bullet'.  Plus it felt damn good to stick it to Eamon Posted Image

I really do agree.  Out of my multitude of playthroughs, I've spared Loghain twice just to get those endings, and it always felt wrong!  Once I fed him to the AD and married Alistair to Anora.  This HNM is all about the power, and he's not such a great guy himself.  I know it's a heated subject, but IMO what that "Hero" of Ferelden did was horrible, and I don't see how you can compare it to Alistair leaving the wardens in a rage.  Especially through the eyes of my HNF and my CE.

My Morrigan-ring-wearing HNM put Alistair up on the throne alone, is the Teryn of Gwaren, the Couslands now hold both Ferelden Teyrnirs, and are best friends with the king...great positioning for the future. Now he's humping a bow through Awakening, where it seems to be taking forever.

(I've only spared Loghein twice, but only once for real - first time was a do-over).  It was just wrong, wrong, wrong.
Funny how he talks about Anora, though, he sees her pretty clearly.

Thanks.   That's my little dog, Toby.

My non-rp reason for sparing Loghain this time was that I wanted to see his appearance in Awakening.  Through my eyes (not my character's), I think he's a pretty fascinating character.  I thought his line "I want to ride back to Denerim and sit in the warroom, and find no empty chairs at the table ... "  was extremely sad.  He sunk to such horrible depths because he couldn't control his paranoia.  He saw that at the end and admitted, "All this can rightly be called my fault... "

But through most of my character's eyes, there's no way he's being spared, even at the expense of Anora having to witness it.  Pretty awful for a daughter to see her father executed, but maybe not as awful as how my warden-daughter would've felt  if Loghain had been successful in selling off her father and friends to a life of slavery.

Edited to bring the subject back to Alistair.

Wake up, Alistair!

I just saw that the Dark Ritual deleted scenes mod got stolen and uploaded at Nexus with a trojan virus.  :(

Someone must be have fun screwing Nexus up  Are all mods .exe data? I would be careful from now on. I for myself are never looged in as a admin while surfing.

However sunday is always a sleepy day in the forums, most use the free time to spend it for the RL. Yeah I do not, because I'm currently writing my FF on, lol. Too bad that my beta appeared to have dropped dead. This is the  third week I'm waiting now to get one tiny chapter back. So I have also written a couple of chaps already, but still can't update my story, ugh. *goes sulking in the corner* :crying:

Sorry, have had my head in awakening, trying to get my gear right so as not to have my PC naked when all the gear is taken in Silverite Mine.  Yeesh, this will be the third time through.

It's a shame folks are going after mods on dragonagenexus so blatently now. Fortunately it's still on the Bioware site. Makes me leery of dragonagenexus, although a good virus/worm scan is always warranted.  That's a good mod, how maddening for the author.

Anyone listening to the livefeed?  I just loaded it up, and I heard someone say something (audio was garbled) about how as soon as you said *garbled* about Alistair, the social network exploded.  Said what???  I can't find any Alistair exploding posts anywhere, so I guess it was only a tiny burp instead of a real explosion?

He was probably referring to Gaider's drunk Alistair comment from yesterday.

I think the only thing that exploded are the cup sizes on female models.

All meanings of that intended.

I'm apathetic about anything they announce about DA2.  Alistair returning is nice, but it could be a one-minute cameo like in Awakening, or it could be something really dumb like cmessaz's idea of him leading an army and dying.  Nothing to get excited over until we know more.  Anyway I'm not sure how I feel about encountering Alistair with another PC, where you have no history with him.  I guess it's better than nothing.

I've been busy today finishing my M/Dalish walkthrough before the release of Witch Hunt.

Sadly, that has been happening a lot recently on Nexus.

It would be very smart for them to include Alistair in a meaningful way. It would certainly get me to buy the game, and probably quite a few others. It would depend on whether they considered it cost effective to write him into three separate possibilities, although I suppose he would likely not appear as warden Alistair unless the warden's are more involved with the plot than it sounds, and King Alistair's appearance would probably be shorter than exiled Alistair's. Nothing really wrong with that, though. It would just get people to maybe try endings they haven't. There've been enough hints about a possible Alistair appearance that it seems more likely than not. I wouldn't mind encountering him with another character at all, if it gives exiled Alistair a chance at a better life. It's not like a warden who exiled him deserves any loyalty. It would be interesting to see Alistair functioning as king, too, which he would certainly do solo in some playthroughs, and even at times when the warden stays.

The podcast with David Gaider was interesting today. Was nice to hear he really liked the response to Alistair as a character. One thing I didn't know was that Ogres are created by Qunari broodmothers. He's back on at 5pm pacific time.

Hence why the Qunari "retcon" actually makes sense.
