Oh, I don't know. There aren't all that many women who would look at Alistair and think 'brother.' Some, certainly, but not most, I don't think. Leliana and Alistair would be all right together, but I don't think she'd challenge him enough in terms of growth. Bethany would do that. And he'd challenge her, too. But both are nice enough and funny enough to do so without it getting meanspirited or ugly.

Tis very sad that I'm agreeing with this. 

Impossibly pairing is impossible...  I mean she hated Carver for being the epitome of whiny... and Alistair is well... sorta the same only backwards... Carver whines for my reposibility... Alistair whines for less... 

Bethany doesn't even seem faintly interested in guys or sex to begin with...  Alistair would have to initiate it... under the short amount of time of which they should ever meet.

Wouldn't happen...

Well, I guess I just disagree. I think they're well suited in a number of ways. And Esbatty's story is charming.

She came to terms with it more towards the end of DA2.

They wouldn't just click. There'd be a lot of tension and bickering and angst and back-and-forth, but that's the best kind of romance. And I like the idea even more if Alistair DIDN'T romance the Warden!

I don't think Alistair whining about the loss of his comrades & father figure is something trivial. I can get behind the Bethany/Al pairing, but some how, the Liliana one doesn't work for me.

River Hawke leaves his room after hearing Morrigan's offer. He sees Leliana right outside the door.
River: "You were listening through the door?"

River: "I'll say." *snerk*
Awkward silence.
Leliana: "What if Alistair refuses to... Perform this ritual? Would you do it? I mean... She's a very beautiful woman. There are worse fates than bedding her. Like... Death."
Leliana makes a sad panda face.
River: "You'd have to be as obtuse as Sten not to see how much Alistair secretly wants to plow her."
Leliana: "Just because he wants to doesn't mean he will. He was raised by the Chantry and...--That's not my point, River, stop deflecting!"
River: "You're adorable when your jealous, dear." *snerk*
Leliana: "If he refuses, then... You should do Morrigan's ritual. I don't want to see either of you die tomorrow.... Do you think she's beautiful?"
River: "So you're giving me the go-ahead to sow my wild oats? Maybe there is a Maker after all. As for your second question, the answer is yes. She's beautiful in the way ravens sometimes are. But you are a bird of paradise."
River ruffles her hair.
River: "If he refuses, I'll knock him out."
Leliana: "...What?"
River: "And you don't think men can salute when they're asleep? Morrigan's a witch, she'll... Figure something out."

On the contrary I have squeed over Alistair more then I am willing to admit.  Through most of my DA:O playthroughs he was always in my party, usually a  friend, and sometimes a lover.

So because I prefer the Leliana romance I am not entitled to say my opinion about Alistar, his character and romance, (which is the only other DA:O romance I can honestly say I like for fem warden) and be lumped together in the "hater" group just because I'm friends with them?

Would "hater group" be comprised of Zjarcal and myself?

We are more efficient than I thought if simply stating an opinion politely that really has little to do with Alistair personally gets to be considered hating.

My apologies, Lenimph. The way people seem to show up all at the same time lately, and only to disagree, never to just say hi or shoot the breeze, has likely caused me to jump to unwarranted conclusions, particularly after the incident with the thread title.
