Has anyone noticed a problem with the Fan Fic site. I noticed that stories I had added with link on the upper right side, have all disappeared.

Oh that happens from time to time, dunno why. Maybe when you clear the browser cache. I have stopped to add stories in that way. I rather put them into my favorites now to add them to my reading pile. In that way they can't get lost ^^

Believe me, they know. David Gaider made a bitter post not too long ago about how [female designer] had tried so hard to get Alistair's face right in the new engine and if they'd only known how much people would hate her efforts, she probably shouldn't have tried so hard.

Which is perfectly wrong attitude to take, incidentally. Using this logic and how DA2 writing was received we could be looking forward to Mr.Gaider "not trying so hard" with DA3. And that approach will clearly fly so much better...

I agree, as well. As much as I dislike the look of Alistair in DA2 he is completely recognizable. I do appriciate that they tried to make him look like Alistair and not some guy that they tell us is Alistiair.

I thought it was an accurate "6 years later" "Throne Weary" Alistair. Ya know, since he's not fighting Darkspawn for all those years, combined with stress, and a comfort food/cheese heavy diet. Besides he needed some meat on his bones.

^^ But he's still in his 20's, he shouldn't look THAT bad

Sorry but if they designed Alistair before, I can't see why they should have any difficulty doing it again... Or falling so short... Effort is to be applauded but end results count too and DA2 Alistair is dire. The criticism is deserved.

They must have worked really hard on this prostitute's make-up, too. I guess a lot of the Blooming Rose's patrons must have a Clown H00ker fetish.

LOL @ Scratty - She's worse than your hooker Anora

There's a reason why she's the "cheap" option Schratty.

About Alistair's face, I thought it looked appropriate enough in the sense that he looked older and somewhat weary (fitting for all his cameos really). Though I agree that they did a better job with Cullen.

Oh, so now they're insulting my clown hooker fetish. I am thoroughly offended D:<

LOL

I'm just not a fan of their representation of Alistair in DA2. That and the fact that Hawke doesn't have the option to mount Cullen are probably my two biggest greviances with the game. So, yeah, pretty superficial :P

I can appreciate the effort to attempt to make him look like Alistair...but by no means do I think the result is successful in any other way than making him identifiable.

Ok I just made a HNF Warrior and of course I plan to woo Alistair...but how do I get the royal ending?

keep him unhardened? kill loghain obviously....and Anora is...arrested? Do I need max persuade and Alistair at full love?

I always prefer to harden him, Cypher - he's a better ruler that way and, IMO, a stronger person. I always have max persuasion, so I'm not sure if it's a requirement. But yes, kill Log & Anora will be put in the tower. I'm not sure what happens to her afterward, though.

I think it's to large degree the lighting in spots where he appears that does the character disservice. There's no decent light sources to put some good contrast of light and shadow to the features, only ambient and not even much of that.

Someone should put his morph on another guy and see what it's like in a place with normal lighting instead.

Hmm, to satisfy my own curiosity; DA2 king Alistair in more normal lighting looks more or less like this:

Aside from the expression, he looks fine to me. He still looks better in DAO, but that's not terrible.

Yeah, the "fat" impression is pretty much gone imo. In fact, comparing side by side the face has perhaps slightly more gaunt than the DAO Alistair.

He doesn't have that dreaded Therein nose.

That said, he is less horrible than I thought he was.

Now that pic of Ali doesn't look half bad - however - the pic above has far better clarity and detail than what appears in game.  He appears much slimmer in the face and his cheekbones are far more defined here. Still, it cannot compare to how handsome of a character they were able to create in DA:O.

Yes, it doesn't make much sense to spend so much time trying to replicate a face and then showcase it - exclusively - in craptastic lighting.

*grabs her pitchfork and joins in with Rak* D:<

That is the worst Morrigan I have ever seen. Everytime I see that I thank the maker they didn't put that in game!

Nice, TMP. He really doesn't look as bad in that pic.

That's as bad as DA2 Zevran!
