 I was chit-chatting with Morrigan today and she finally starting talking about my warden's relationship with Alistair. Nearly fell off my chair when she said "He must be pleasant enough in bed, for I cannot imagine ANYONE enduring his conversation." XDDD Priceless. Of course my chosen response was "Oh, you have no idea."
Although I was tempted to choose "He's an idiot, but he's my idiot!"

I was trying to be responsible and actually read this entire thread before posting anything substantive, but am I wrong to do so, if it contributes, even in the tiniest fashion, to Alistair getting all boo-boo faced and weepy?

I just can't stop writing about this guy...

I'm about to pen the last chapter of my Alistair epic and now I find myself writing an eroticy thingy about Ali and another warden... Damn the man!!!

Heh, same here. After my unfortunate pause with writing due to a troll, I slowly begin to pick up my story again. Fortunately. That being said after my epic doorstopper I have several other stories planned, all involving Alistair.

I still don't read any non- Alistair FF. Can't do without the man in the FF-world

That was the plan... I'm about 1/8 of the way through, if that helps any.

In brief: I'm not much of a gamer (the year that vanished into the Morrowind timesuck notwithstanding), but a friend suggested earlier this year (February, according to my first save file) that DAO might be something I'd enjoy whilst coping with a severe and on-going bout of insomnia. Borrowed her game, knew before I hit Ostagar with my first City Elf that this was something... amazing. Have been over the moon and back again for Alistair  (or "Hot Tank", as he is more commonly referred to 'round here, generally in the context of my husband mock-whining "You love Hot Tank more than you love me!") from the first time he did this  ->



The current plan is to dazzle the boy with an endless parade of wee Elves (because Alistair+Elf is more adorable than a baby eating ice cream), thusly ->



and avoid SadAlistair endings ->



whenever possible.

And because I love it so much: Alistair, just after today's Archdemon ride ->



Fingers crossed that I did the image-thing right...

All my Wardens are canon, and my first playthrough ended that way. It was made even more distressing by the fact that I haven't picked up any mods yet, so he kept referring to himself as king. So I was torn between being sad and being irritated because you're a Warden, not king, dummy. And then I raged at Wynne's comment during the coronation party.

I don't think I'll do that ending again. Too sad.

but I've been ghosting around this and other Alistair threads for a while, and I finally got around to registering my game so I could post something. Needless to say, Alistair is one of my favorite NPCs ever (and David Gaider is my hero - one of my dream careers is to be exactly like him one day, no exaggeration). So I'm hoping this thread has room for another avid Alistair fangirl
Anyway, now that the introductions are mostly over with, it's great to (sort of) meet you all. It's around dinnertime in my time zone, so I'll be back to start gushing over Alistair in earnest later

I've never been able to do the Alistair sacrifice - too big of a wimp.  The best I could do was an US that never romanced him.   Then I resurected her for awakenings.  I was quite happy to feed Loghain to Archi that one run, though.

@tsm Got-DAYUM he looks good like that. Esp. in the WC armor. Every single time I mod him I end up switching him back, but I think tha'ts a keeper.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble writing FF about other pixel men. I'm working on a Fenris story and…JUST NOT MOTIVATED. I like the guy, but… <shrugs>

Would it be too much to ask for everyone to put a link to their FF in their signature? I would like to stalk you all. I know I'm not the only one whose FF is under a different handle.

After four months I'm still making my way through all the "good old days" that Skadi refers to above.

just finished first playthrough last night... Tried to avoid spoilers but still saw a couple so I knew it would be tough.

*sigh* my poor beloved Alistair... broke my heart cause he didn't think we would have kids, unhardened so I wasn't able to be his mistress (and after all those long sweet nights by the campfire)... then damn Riordan and his comments 'you should take Alistair and 2 other members" so i did and alas no way I could talk Alibear out of sacraficing himself. Now my elf mage warden shall wander the lands lonley and heartbroken killing deathspawn until she rejoins her love in death.

LO made me shed a tear but DA:O.... I wept through the entire end credits.

Never have I felt such a strong connection with a game character, they did a great job with Alistair and the game as a whole. He is sweet, charming, goofy and clever while still noble and honorable (and quite handsome). The love story is romantic, beautifuly done and tragic.

you know what this thread needs? More Alistair pics. Keep them coming, this is my favorite thread to browse through.

The sacrifice is worth it, at least once. It is perhaps my favorite Alistair moment, and pretty much cemented him as my number one favorite man pixel love. Word to the wise, have plenty of tissue and alcoholic beverage handy.
