Very funny picture!
I came rushing home to try to catch Gaider's second Q&A, but I missed it. Guess I'll get back to rushing my HNM through Awakening. Not enough Alistair this weekend!

Well, I was assuming that elves reproduced like other races although, admittedly, I have never witnessed the act and so who even knows?Axekix wrote...

But...but if the woman in Leliana's Song was the CE's mother then it makes no sense for her to look like any of mine.He did confirm that yes, it was the CE's mother in Leliana's Song. And yes, Cailan was planning on divorcing Anora for the Empress of Orlais. And templar's use something on par with blood magic when they use the phylactories.

I was happy with my resembling her cousins Shianni and Soris CEs...
And I have officially given up on Cailan. How the hell could he have possibly thought that was a good idea? She's too old to give him an heir but I guess he won't need one now that he's selling Ferelden back to Orlais.![]()
*goes to find Loghain thread*

Wow what was he thinking?
That has to be the most brain dead political move ever.
Someone needed to do this to Cailan:

This brings up an interesting problem. How much consideration can we give things that were intended to be part of the plot, but never made it, given that (a), we don't know the whole story, only a sliver, and (they technically never happened.
We know that Eamon wanted Cailan to remarry. We don't know he wanted him to remarry Celene.errant_knight wrote...

Yeah, I didn't believe that possible for that very reason. Now I think there must be something about the whole thing that I'm missing, Loghain wasn't the only one who fought the Orlesians--Eamon was there, too, and he apparently thought that was a good idea, so I'm guessing that there was something that would explain why he and Cailan thought that, in the cut plotline. There had to be something, because David Gaider is really good about giving reasons for things.

On another point--boy am I glad I found out how phylactories work before writing the bit that deals with them!

No, they did happen, as RtO showed.
"So what you saw in Return to Ostagar was sort of a a callback to what was happening there"
And there is no reason that could have made this a smart move.
