I've said this myself several times, obviously Alistair is a well-created character, obviously this was appreciated by his creators but I really don't think they realise WHY and HOW they GOT IT SO RIGHT.

I think part of the issue is that Alistair was created by men but most of us picking up on his GLORIOUS APPEALLINGNESS are women, having said that, it would be most unfair not to acknowledge that there are some honourable male exceptions out there; and men, including Alistair's creators, very often do not really understand what makes us tick...

My trigger happened slightly earlier on with the dress comment... This nice big macho guy would put a dress on for me and he can make a joke about it? Hell, ME LIKES!!!

And still no T-shirt or action figure. Dammit!

I liked Alistair from the get-go, but didn't give him much thought at first. He was the Warden dude, the other one beside my Cousland (Yes I started out as FHN, can you imagine? Lol) And I was okay, "let's talk with him some more." I know it was in Lothering when I discovered the "I have dreams where we make wild love in my tent" option and I was like...wait...WHAT? O__O

I loved his reaction to that, and to me was obvious that he was a LI. Which didn't stopped me from blushing later on, when he kissed Cous just like that. But where I was completely sold on him was the rose scene. I would have never expected him to give my character a gift, just like that. I was blown away by this scene and felt all fuzzy and warm inside. And up to this day this (mushy) scene gets me every time to melt. D'aaaaaw.

Can't help it.

@Maria You SO need the t-shirt. I got one recently and it's one of my favorites. Really soft.

@tsm, @Rak Got my Ali modded last night with Duncanstair/no earring. Messed around with the toolset and made his eyes hazel. Thanks.

@Meri Yeah, I guess I had noticed a couple of those options but I thought they were just for giggles. Plus as a Cousland, I kept expecting him to die on me any minute, the way everyone else had so far. It wasn't until that Redcliffe convo that I got a clue, then straight away we all went and got stuck in the Fade for three days. Was certainly feeling the despair as we all got put to sleep. Right after killing Uldred and returning to the third floor, I got the "Has anyone ever told you how handsome you are?" option. So we flirted shamelessly in the midst of a pile of corpses. Heh.

Guys guys guys! I finished Origins last night, for the first time. 100 hour game.. I would have extended it a million hours if I could have, but it was finally time to kill the demon so Alistair and I could get married and have lots more se- I mean rule the kingdom of Ferelden properly. The marriage epilogue mod was so nice; I'm really glad I didn't finish the game without it, otherwise I would have been like **** WHERE IS MY WEDDING?! haha

The look on his face, the light and shadow. The catch in his voice. How impossibly fragile he was...

It's such a beautifully choreographed, if incredibly manipulative moment, and even though I'm prepared for it now, it still works, every time.

The first time I was playing through, I was fighting the arch demon and my friend kept calling me. I wasn't answering the phone. Finally I picked up and he's like ,"hey, why aren't you answering you phone"? I told him, not now, I have to kill the arch demon and become queen of Fereldan!! Then I hung up on him. My game ended up crashing right before I killed the AD, and this was before the wedding mod. After I finally finished him off, I was like, "WTFFFFF, whrer the hell is my wedding? Thats it!?!?!?!"

@LadyRiven—Congrats. I know, I'd still be playing that first playthrough if I could. Have you ever read Zute's "A Southern Californian in King Cailan's Court?" Yeah, I want that to be me.

@tsm Good story, and yeah, SV's voice work…incredible…at this point I didn't have any illusions that Alistair could like me, I thought it was all for the Wardens and Duncan. Maybe if I'd gotten the dress line I would have thought differently.

@rak Yeah, how did they think they'd be able to get away with no wedding scene? Doesn't matter though, they wouldn't have done it justice…but DahliaLynn certainly did…

My first playthrough was a Surana. Even though I got the giggles from the rose and the kiss and the tent time, it wasn't until after thet Landsmeet that I realized how sucked in I was by this pixel guy! Of course, I put him on the throne and he comes in all "we have to talk"...I was like WTF!!??  I chased him back to camp thinking I could convice him otherwise, when that didn't work it was NO FREAKIN WAY, DUDE...reload...Anora's queen, yay!

I ordered the I Alistair t, but no t-shirt with his likeness on it? the shame... they really should!

My lil' elf mage was trying to figure out how to make things move forward with Cullen, but that first time you meet Alistair and he's being sarcastic to the mage and then later appologizes to Duncan, I thought 'hmm maybe this guy is more worthy...' The kiss is what did it though. It was a somewhat shocking moment as it wasn't a direct result of me choosing him to do it, he did it 'on his own'..    

I started a second HNF playthrough so I could do the DR and marry him but in my mind he's still in love with my first warden so I stopped.. feels so silly to say that! now I'm playing a male dalish that way I'm not tempted and can leave Ali alone until I get over this whole 'first warden' feeling.. amazing how drawn in and emotionally attached I am to that first playthrough. sigh
