Lol, I found out how amusing that bit was when I played through Ostagar as a sadistic male mage Mahariel. (I'd intended to have him romance Zevran.) It was the first time I'd killed someone in conversation as a mage, and I was amused to see that mages use the same old one-hit-kill-knife as warriors and rogues. I'd have expected them to shoot a quick freeze spell or something.

Yep...those types of kills are always a murder knife...too much work for the animators otherwise, I suppose.

I just recently started playing this game and I am so happy to see that I'm not the only one with a huge crush on Alister. I was feeling kind of embarrassed about squeeing over pixels, but it seems I'm in good company!

(Sadly, my PC is a guy, so no romance for me on this play-through. But there will most definitely be another, however. Romance must happen.)

Since you're playing as a guy, that means you can get this line. :happy:


Watch out for spoilers-I've seen endgame stuff spoiled in thread titles even in the "no spoilers" forums before. Good luck!

It's from the "If you were raised in the Chantry..." conversation. I had no idea that line existed until I saw it in the toolset. You can only get it with a male Warden, and you have to pick a certain dialogue option (or maybe it's a series of certain options). All of my saves on my two guys are too late to go back and see which ones you have to pick, but I think you get it by picking the "I'm not telling you" option.

Yeah, I've certainly already been a bit spoiled on things... but I can't seem to stay away, alas.

I haven't seen that dialogue yet, but I did just have a hilarious conversation about... licking lamp posts. Heh.

Edit to say: on further thought, it sounds like your screencap is a different option from the same conversation - my PC told him he'd licked more than his share of lamp posts, rather than declining to lick-and-tell.

Welcome, gingergen. I just joined the thread myself I have to say I'm rather accustomed to falling for pixel guys by now. Let's see... I think my first video game crush was Zack Fair from FF7. I still use his pretty face as my desktop sometimes:wub: It's too bad these guys aren't real... that would make my life! Especially Alistair <3

Yep, same conversation.

Now I want to roll another male Warden, probably a Cousland or Amell. Then I'll finally have a male Warden playthrough with Alistair as a Warden instead of king.

tsm, that's some gorgeous armor. Where'd you get it? I'm a complete noob when it comes to downloading custom content into my games, lol But once I get my new computer, I think I'll give it a try. Getting kind of sick of the default armor...

fyre, the armor on Alistair in the first image is tmp7704's fabulous DA2 Grey Warden armours. I'm not sure what textures I had on them at that point.

In the second screen, I'm 99% sure he's wearing Silver Runic Warden armor; I might have messed with the color of it in the Winter Forge or Universal Dye Kit. And for the sake of completeness, my Warden is wearing one of the retexures of Underworld Armory. Alistair is wearing the male version of that in one of my screenshots further up the thread, BTW.
I am a shameless **** for pretty armor.



Ritual, refused. I love the body language in this one. (And blast those face-hidin' pauldrons!)

I'm thinking of refusing the ritual on one of my more idealistic playthroughs, with a warrior/rogue who doesn't trust magic or Morrigan. Still can't decide whether to leave Ali at the gate or go for the heartbreaker ending, though...
