Thanks Moogie. :)

Regarding Alistair's religiousness...he's a believer...but not a dweller. Best response when you ask him about being a templar...and he says it's boring...aske to make up something more exciting ;)

So with this tumbler thing - if you want to comment on someones post, you have to reblog the whole thing??

I'm pretty much a female version of Alistair in real life, which I'm sure is negatively affecting my Wardens' personalities when I try to role play them differently. It's just so difficult to make truly ruthless, fanatical, etc. Wardens for me. Each time I've played through, I choose different choices, but they all somehow turn out not being that horrible. And I don't lose a ton of approval from him.

But then again, the only way I made it through Darkspawn Chronicles was by leaving all the companions' equipment on their bodies after killing them. Even though I was playing as a darkspawn, somehow that made it "okay." There was just no way I was taking Sten's sword away from him. :(

@rak—If people have "enabled replies" on their posts, you can reply that way. You can set it up to enable replies by anyone who's been following you for more than two weeks. Otherwise, yeah, in most cases you have to reblog, which is annoying.

I'm pretty sure someone just unfollowed me on Tumblr for posting Errant's commissioned artwork of Alistair executing Loghain. Some people are SOOOO TOUCHY! I can guarantee I would not unfollow someone who posted the reverse. Whatevs. Good riddance.

I was playing around with dialogue choices for the "Where do you think this is going?" question before the Landsmeet (I think it changes slightly if asked afterwards, I'm playing with unhardened Alistair this playthrough), and if you say you won't let him go, etc. Alistair is all matter of fact and sad, and whatnot, and says he doesn't know what will happen, and that there may not be a future, etc. But if you say the option that expresses your own doubts, he immediately jumps up and says he doesn't want to be with anyone else. I'm trying to figure out if that is really part of Alistair's personality, or if the dialogue choices where set up that way to cause as much conflict as possible at that point in the game.

I blame the writers, because there's no way that in a real conversation he would be so undecided or duplicitous.

I think you're right. It's one of the few times I've found the dialogue response just didn't sit right at all. It seemed off to me. I reloaded and will try the same question after the landsmeet, I want to see if it's different at all. I've done that a lot this playthrough. I keep talking to Alistair, and then reloading so I can talk to him again later on in the game. If I had my way, he'd have double the amount of dialogue he already has.:wub:

Oh, yeah. I always run out of dialogue before the Landsmeet, and then the only thing I can get him to talk about is the dining-room table.  >.>

Also. He royall pissed me off in my first PT because he just didn't happen to tell me about the baby problem. Because I hadn't selected the right dialogue option. Now that felt duplicitous. But again, I blame the writers, trying for max drama.

Which was the premise I was operating under, but now I know I was doing it wrong!

And the story that was the inspiration for this week's prompt:

A Night at Tapster’s
The group sat at a table in the Tapster’s Tavern in Orzammar. It was packed full of dwarves drinking, talking, and a few on a stage singing. The singing itself was not good, or at least not good melodically, and Leliana sat at the table holding her hands over her ears. She was wearing her new dress she picked up in Redcliffe village. It was white with a deep plunging neckline with grayish green sleeves and leggings. She also had a bodice of light chainmail added by Owen the blacksmith for added protection while they travelled. Morrigan sat with her arms crossed and nodding disapproval. She wore her normal black skirt and leggings, but her maroon top was more revealing than the one she normally wore...almost like an oversized scarf. Several dwarves could be seen staring at her. Sten sat across from the two women showing little emotion at all. His breeches and shirt were the same brown and tan ones he was wearing when the wardens first freed him from the cage in Lothering. Dan and Alistair had been back once to drop off the drinks for the table and then took off again. They were each wearing the traditional blue robes of Grey Wardens, but even in those they were lost amongst the crowd in the tavern. Finally the two dwarves singing ended their song, and Leliana let her arms fall to her side and she let a huge sigh of relief.
“And here I thought you, a bard, would like listening to others singing,” Morrigan said with a grin.
“I like good singing,” Leliana replied, “and that was not good singing.”
“You mean that was bad singing? I could not tell it was different than any other singing I have heard here in Ferelden,” Sten chimed in.
“You…” Leliana glared at the Qunari. “They were off key…and they had bad timing…are you saying you could not tell?”
“No.”
“Why, Leliana, I do think he is saying your singing does not sound any different than theirs did,” Morrigan said with a slight giggle to her voice.
“You…” the bard glared at the giant again, “I am a much better singer than they are.”
“If you say so.”
“You…you…” Leliana sat back in her chair and crossed her arms in a huff. Morrigan let a laugh as Sten only shrugged his shoulders at Leliana’s reaction.
“Where are Dan and Alistair, by the way?” Morrigan finally asked to break the tension emanating from the Orlesian to her side.
“I do not know. They took their drinks with them,” Sten replied in his usual steady tone.
“I think Dan mentioned trying to find out about the whole king situation here in Orzammar. He figured a tavern would be a good place to start gathering information.” Leliana then turned to Sten. “And I saw you picking flowers today along the road.”
“I was not…they were for medicinal purposes.”
“Softie,” Leliana teased and she leaned back on the table with a smile. “You smelled them and looked like you were rather enjoying yourself.” Morrigan sat beside her and tried to cover the smile forming on her mouth while watching the giant intently for his reaction.
“I was checking their fragrance for…to make sure they were the correct flowers…I mean vegetation.”
“Softie,” Leliana said drawing out the word.
“Stop calling me that.” Morrigan let out a small chuckle, and her eyes began to water from holding back her laughter.
“And you like cookies and sugary cakes. You may be big and tough and act all stoic, but deep inside you are just a big ole softie….softie,” she drew out the last word and started giggling.
“I am Sten of the Berasaad. I am not a softie,” he protested.
“Softie,” she again drew out the word and giggled. Morrigan began laughing unable to hold it back. Sten just shook his head and cursed under his breath.
They were interrupted by singing that had resumed back on the stage. The singers were worse than the previous ones, and when they looked to see who was singing saw Dan and Alistair performing. Each man had an arm around the other’s shoulder and holding a mug of whatever they were drinking in their free hands. Morrigan let out another round of laughing, and Leliana put her hands back on her ears.
“Maker’s Breath! They are worse than the other two,” she said.
“I think they sound quite good,” Sten retorted.
“You what?” she asked raising an eyebrow. “They are completely off key, their timing is horrible…and they aren’t even singing the right words!”
The two wardens were smiling as they sang, and pointed at their friends. Morrigan almost fell out of her chair from laughing so hard, and Sten began to slightly bob his head to their singing. Leliana put her head on the table and put her arms over it to muffle the sounds coming from the stage. When the men finished their song they bowed to widespread applause. Morrigan applauded with the crowd, and Leliana just glowered at the two men as they walked back to the table to rejoin their friends.
“That was fun,” Dan said with a grin.
“It was at that,” Alistair agreed.
“You two were horrible…just….horrible,” Leliana said. The two men looked at each other, grinned, and then nodded agreement to Leliana. “You knew you were bad?”
“I have never been able to sing,” Dan replied and Alistair nodded. “But it was still fun. Half these people don’t know us, and the other half are too drunk to know anyone at this point. But we did get some useful information. Singing I think was a small price to pay.”
“And just what information did perform that monstrosity for?” she asked.
“The names of the men we need to see about getting this treaty filled, some information about trouble in the slums they call Dust Town, and a few other tidbits about some paragon that’s been missing for two years.”
“And what good will that do us, Kadan?” Sten asked.
“Well, for starters only a king can fulfill the treaty and send the army, and right now they have two men vying for the position. Also, both are sending teams into the Deep Roads looking for this missing paragon. I have a hunch…” Dan said.
“We’re probably going to the Deep Roads before this is all over with,” continued Alistair, “which means we will also be dealing with darkspawn…and possibly signs of the archdemon or where it’s gone to.” Sten nodded approval.
“So I had to suffer that torture just for that?” Leliana asked.
“It wasn’t that bad…was it?” Dan looked at her with his most sympathetic expression.
“That will not work…stop that…I mean it…stop looking at me like that…” and then Leliana started giggling. “You know I can’t resist that face.” She leaned over to kiss him. “Still, I am going up there to sing and show these people how a proper song is sung.”
“Be my guest,” Dan replied grinning.
“What song are you going to sing?” asked Alistair.
“There is this one song…a song of elven mourning…I think it’s appropriate for the mockery of song you two just performed.” And then she left to go on the stage.
“You are in for a real treat,” Dan said proudly. “Her voice is amazing.”
“If you say so,” Morrigan said. “I for one will bel…” She never finished.
Leliana stood tall and proud and began singing. The entire tavern grew quiet as every patron was mesmerized by the redheaded bard on the stage. Her pitch was perfect, and timing elegant, and as she sang emotions were shown on almost every face in the tavern. Even the stoic giant looked solemn, more so that normal at least. He lowered his head almost like an act of reverence. The words were elven, and yet from Leliana’s tone and inflection everyone in the room knew what she was singing about. Even the witch appeared moved. When she finished there was no applause, but muffled crying and several sniffles could be heard from the crowd. She bowed gracefully and left the stage to return to her seat next to Dan. He turned and smiled at Alistair who had watched her return with a tear in his eye.
“That was….that was beautiful,” Alistair finally said. “I never knew how well you could sing.”
“Thank you,” she replied with a shy smile. And then she turned to kiss Dan on the cheek. “Sometimes you just need the right inspiration.”
“I’m going to be sick,” Morrigan interrupted.
“Mock all you want, Morrigan, but it’s true. And hearing such horrible and miserable singing since we have been here, it was all the inspiration I needed.” She smiled and giggled.
“When can we see these men that are so important, Kadan” Sten asked changing the course of the conversation.
“Any time I think,” replied Dan. “We just need to head up to the Diamond Quarter to find the assembly chamber, and then proceed from there.”
“Then we should get going,” the Quanari said as he stood and started walking for the door.
“I guess that’s our cue to leave,” smiled Alistair.
They left Tapster’s Tavern, and as they passed the patrons on the way to the door several bowed to the redheaded bard from Orlais…for she had sung the most beautiful song any of them had ever heard, and if she had been a dwarf might have been their paragon of music.

Ouch, Ambra. Hope you are ok. And no worries on the prompts, I don't think we are adhering to the time limit with them. ;)

I'm fine! No one was hurt! But it's been crazy trying to get everything handled with it plus trying to get a new car before I have to give back the rental. I was lurking a bit while I was gone and I have to say I love the prompt fills!
