Anyways, I love Loghain's character and always saw him as the very epitome of nobility lost - it's just not apparent to someone who almost had their father shipped to Tevinter as a slave, soooo...

Is there a lot of dialogue after the Landsmeet, with Alistair, where he talks about Anora being on the throne? Or anything relating to the fact that the PC and Alistair can stay together now since he's not king? I have the console version so he is in denial and thinks he's king, and all I get is King dialogue related choices. I think I'm getting the hardened dialogue somehow too, because he says he won't let me go even as King.

Try the "You owe me" line for getting a suggestive Alistair
Since I haven't been for ages here in the Ali-thread, here a little pic as an offer of peace:

I REALLY wish I'd discovered this game when it first came out. By the time I finish several PTs, absolutely nobody will be playing DA:O anymore. :-p

Still, reading through the entirety of this thread from the beginning has been truly entertaining. I hope ya'll stick around a while longer.

I am a bit of a Alistair purist (I love him just as he was the first time I saw him). But that hairstyle you have on him there is more subtley different than most of the others I've seen... I like it!

Hopefully no one minds...

Oh, hey, Merilsell! I just wanted to let you know that I just (yesterday, in fact) finished reading your FF Of Elves and Humans. Loved it, thanks for the great read!I really liked the character development and thought that went into Lenya's growth, and you were quite deft at integrating the in-game dialogue into your FF in a fresh but always appropriate manner. I appreciated your work immensely!
--hey, give me a break, i started played DAO only a few months ago... Always late to the party, etc etc
*edit to add sad Alistair for you being gone so long *snipped*

Wow, thank youI must say that I'm surprised that there are still people braving this word monster from start to finish, I can understand how 380k words can be a tad intimidating, lol. So kudos to you for sticking around for the whole thing and I hope you are going to enjoy what is to come. There might be even a kiss scene in the near future. Well okay, I mean after 60 chapter it is about time for that, huh?
Right now I write the Flemeth arc and the aftermatch of it, so stay tuned

No true Alistair devotee minds a good view of that derriere!

Don't get it wrong way, but i think he may be instead wondering where the sudden fish smell comes from.tklivory wrote...

I loooove word monsters - I grew up with no TV, hundreds of books, and text-only computer games, so words do not intimidate. Bring on teh elf lovin'! I am definitely looking forward to it!

Hmm...any fave pairings or genre? Like Alistair/ Tabris or something like that?
However, a couple of FF's instantly spring to my mind:
Setrus' From dirt. Excellent retelling of Origins which is different and not with a happy sunshine Warden. Tabris/ Alistair pairing and long (over 200k) I love that one and are honored that he is still following my story. He also has written a sequel, but I haven't read it yet.
Dasque's Here without you. After blight story with a very good characterization, plot and development. Also full of dramaz, but in healthy portions. One of the few Cousland/Alistair stories I absolutely love. Her other stories are totally worth reading, too.
Mackillian's 30 Dragon and the sequel In peace we lie. AU with Alistair being raised by the Couslands, instead Eamon. A very very clever take on the Origins timeline. Also has the most awesome Dalish with Liadan...after Lenya, of course. The sequel is the direct continuation of 30 dragon and stretches over the whole DA2 story line without including the derp Hawke. Crapload of lore exploration, as well character development and elaborated plot. Mack knows how to spin a tale and I don't only say that because she beta's OEaH for me
Also very long (combined almost 900k) so it will keep you entertained for a while, if you can live with a male Cousland as main char.
Tainted Blood, from my Dalish bro Lakhiz. Also a retelling of Origins but he includes all origins, though not as Wardens. Hence AU, but the focus is on Mahariel/Alistair here. Unfortunately I haven't read past chapter 10 yet, but that is only due to lacking time and its lengths (240k, not finished).I can only recommend to give it a shot.
Bamftastik's The last Warden. Again AU, this time: What would have happened when The Warden died in Ostagar. In this case no crappy DLC, but a very good story with a strong characterization of all the characters within. Especially Alistair is so very...Alistair. Too bad Bioware made not more out of this What if- scenario like Bamftastik did.
If you dig Mahariel/Alistair like I do then you HAVE TO READ Aeryn Phoenix "Understanding." This drabble series is one of my all time faves when it comes to a sensible and realistic handling of that pairing. Her Dalish is nameless, but awesome.
Also great, imo (but not necessarily word monster, except for the last two):
Shadow of Light-The Hunt, Diamond Dust
Aimorai -Dangerous
Addai - Idun Mahariel series
Asfea - "Keeping watch"Best Alistair One Shot ever, IMHO.
Clariana -"Dark Ritual"
Cadsuane -"Mistakes"
There are surely a lot more I cannot remember or missing out myself, but those should keep ypu busy for a while
