@Rage - I see nothing wrong there.
@Yankee - OMG, I love that pic - I am totally keeping that for *next* time Rage gets out of line...
@ Java - I love Comic-Con, been going for years. Did you know that even Alistair enjoys a little cosplay?

I suppose I've always only flirted at the edge of nerddom. DA:O was my first CRPG. The only games I'd really played before it were WoW and The Sims. Oh, and a half-hearted attempt at NWN2, which was a total technical failure at the time on my Mac; never even got out of the starting area. So I basically had no idea this genre existed. Basically, I equated computer games with first-person shooters and other genres that, generally, only boys would be interested in. And the sense of immersion that I got from DA:O just blew my mind. It was so unlike watching movies or television, where no matter how much you love the characters, they are somewhere else, interacting with other people, and you are never much more than a bystander. I know that some people are insanely creative and can bend those worlds to their will, but I'm not one of them. Unfortunately I didn't get that immersive feeling at all from DA2 and Hawke, and I have a lot of negative feelings about the game because of that (as well as many of its other attributes).
I had no idea that fanfiction existed, either. Now that I go and look, there's fic for all kinds of things I've liked in the past (e.g., sci-fi TV like Battlestar Galactica 2003), and I just never knew of its existence. I guess to some people that's like not knowing that televisions exist, but I spent my younger years obsessed with music and seeing bands, and then I got married, and all my friends got married and became dullards, and where was I gonna hear about it? To this day, not one person I know in RL besides my husband knows about this stuff, much less reads it. :-p
Of course, this being the AGT, I can admit that my feelings toward Alistair completely took over my brain, and to date most of the things I've written are centered on that. But it's the only "creative" (I use the term loosely) writing I've ever done despite having a journalism degree and having done technical writing for years as a profession.
So DA has been my first CRPG, my first fandom, my first inspiration to write fanfiction, and my first inspiration to write any fiction at all. I just wasn't geeky or imaginative enough to be inspired before. DA:O is that good. It bums me out that I can't get any friends or my sisters to play it. I suppose I should move on and try to find other games, but I'm still not tired of it and it isn't quite feeling threadbare to me yet, though that is probably just around the corner.

@tsm—Sorry I missed your prompt! And that you've been sick. Really need to get over here more.

I shall ponder the conundrum.
In the meantime, I have a bit of an odd request for my fellow Alistairians. I have been in the mood to compose lately. As there is a dearth of music in these forums (it is mostly writing/art that is created, as far as I can determine), I'd love to write a song concerning Alistair. However I am having trouble coming up with the lyrics (my previous efforts in writing poetry of any kind should make that obvious). So I was wondering if any of you knew of any good Alistair lyrics and/or poetry I might be able to reference/use/whatever.
Or, if any of ya'll are lyricists and would like to collaborate, that would be awesome too.

I have managed to convert one of my friends by showing her the rose conversation on Youtube. She was very intrigued. Then I showed her this video and that sealed the deal.
Next step... get my sisters to playin'.

At any rate, I think Dan would look much better holding an Alistair plushie, don't you?
EDIT:
Wait, the Danicorn already existed?
Also, I can't punish you because i love this picture too much for no particular reason:

Decisions, decisions...
What do *you* think?

To make up for my disappointment, I must turn to my faithful companion, most commonly called Fracas (cuz that's what he does best):

Not my pic, but it always makes me insanely happy.

A link only, since the first one was long enough as it is.
(All right, I'll be honest, this was originally for the ZevThread prompt, but I really liked it, and it has a F!Warden/Alistair romance, so....)
Enjoy!
