I'm unlikely to ever post anything substantive in the way of a fill, but I'm usually around and would be happy to toss out a prompt on the rare occasion when y'all come up short. I'm not sure if that falls within the established parameters for participation, though... for future reference, is that sort of thing acceptable?

Well, considering the first prompt I gave was completely me going "there's no prompt, so I'm giving one!" without asking for permission first
EDIT: oh, wait, that's right, Rage has to work this weekend.

Thanks for the heads up tkl! Isn't the overlap between fantasy and sci-fi interesting? GRR Martin writes sci-fi, just reading Stephen King's latest 11.09.63 which is sf and one of my friends writes BSG FF... I will check your next gen stuff out...
Funny you mention Stephen King, as one of my favorite Fantasy novels of all time is his Eyes of the Dragon. Another writer I really like who does marvelous work in sci-fi and fantasy is Elizabeth Moon.
I think you'll find fantasy tendencies in all my writings, TBH, even my TNG stuff.
Thanks for checking my stuff out, Maria! As I said, I'm inordinately attached to that lil' book... especially once it hits its stride...

Well, considering the first prompt I gave was completely me going "there's no prompt, so I'm giving one!" without asking for permission first, yeah, I'd say that's ok.
If you want to provide the prompt this week, feel free to do so! (I think we lost Rage to Skyrim.

@ tsm - Great prompt! Sadly, my mind went straight to gutter when I saw it. I'll have to come up with a 2nd idea that's more BSN friendly before I post a fill for the prompt.

Alone in the Woods?
The couple sat at the base of the tree silent as they could be. It had been an hour since they had seen the deer nearby, but it had not returned and dusk was soon coming. They looked at each other and quietly got up to head back to camp to join their companions. Neither was wearing the armors they would have normally been wearing opting for some more drab colored clothing to blend in with the wilderness around them. Leliana had even found some simple brown cloth to rap her red hair in. Hunting had become something the couple did regularly together since both were the best in the group with bow and arrow. Although Dan hated to admit it Leliana was the better shot, but today fortune was not on their side as they returned without an animal harvested to help feed the group. The terrain near the base of the Frostback Mountains was full of wildlife, and the couple used these hunting trips not only as opportunity to help feed the group but also as a way to be alone.
On their way back to camp they kept quiet and walked slowly hoping they might chance upon a deer. Dan was quiet having been on several hunting trips with his father and brother while growing up in Highever, but Leliana was quieter still having been a bard and spy most of her adult life. Were it not for the taint in Dan’s blood they could have snuck upon the darkspawn horde. Leliana was ahead of Dan when she stopped and slightly motioned for him to do the same. She didn’t look back at him, and Dan tried to follow her line of sight to see what she saw. Ahead was a deer moving across their path away from her behind some bushes, but it was coming alongside where Dan might have a clear shot. After a few moments of stillness Leliana looked back at Dan and slightly shrugged her shoulders. She did not have a shot. He had kept watching the deer and nodded back to her that he might have one. She responded with a silent nod and watched as Dan slowly crept a few steps to stand beside a tree. After he got there, she slowly made her way behind him keeping quiet so as not to alert the deer to their presence. Dan nocked an arrow as the deer’s head emerged from behind the brush ahead. The sun had set and light was very dim now, so dim that Dan could barely make out where the brush ended and the deer’s head began. He squinted hoping to see better, but the light was just not enough. He waited a few more breaths, and then unnocked his arrow and turned back to Leliana. He shook his head once for no, and she responded with a slight shoulder shrug. They left the tree and proceeded quietly back towards camp.
They held hands as the emerged from the trees into the small clearing where the camp was arranged, and they walked to their tent to put their bows and arrows away for the night. They joined Alistair, Morrigan, Zevran, and Sten by the fire. They relayed the events of the hunt to the others, and after the meal only Dan remained by the fire with Alistair and Zevran. They talked about the need to wait another day before leaving the area to head back to Redcliffe with the Ashes they had retrieved a few days before. Some of Loghain’s men had been scouting the area after apparently hearing reports that the group had been in the area. Zevran had spotted a few of the scouts the day before, and Alistair relayed spotting one during the afternoon while Dan and Leliana had been hunting deeper in the woods. They had purposely camped almost a half day’s journey from the main roads because of the initial sighting, and so far the scouts had not even tried to venture far into the wilderness. Dan figured the scouts’ reluctance to leave the main roads was laziness on their part, but Zevran was more inclined to think that Loghain’s men simply underestimated the temerity of the wardens and their companions. Either way the group had remained unnoticed and planned to remain that way. The three men decided to wait a few more days before leaving their secluded valley. The canopy of trees more than obscured the smoke from their fires, and there were no paths through the wilderness to their location.
The next morning Dan and Leliana set out again to hunt some more. She took the lead, and as Dan followed he could not keep his eyes off of her posterior. Her breeches were very tight, and he lost his thoughts watching her walk. He looked up to see her looking back at him with a wicked smile on her face.
“Like what you see?” she playfully asked.
“You know I do,” he grinned.
“Yes…I can see that,” she giggled.
He looked down and saw his member was pushing visibly against his trousers. She slowly walked back towards him, and her walk just made him yearn more for her. She stood next to him, reached her arms around his neck, got up on her toes, and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him. She pulled back from their kiss playfully tugging his bottom lip with hers. She looked up into his eyes and smiled as she reached down with one arm and began to rub him.
“Would you like some help with this?” she teased.
“I…um…” he took a deep breath as her rubbing was exciting him more, “yes…I want you…”
She put her hand down the inside of his trousers and continued rubbing him. She got back on her toes and whispered into his ear. “I have a blanket in my pack…I’ve wanted to get you alone all morning.”
“You have?” he swallowed hard.
“Hmmm hmmmm. Ever since I woke up and you were still sleeping,” she replied and gave his member a little squeeze. “You had this while you were sleeping, and I have wanted it ever since.” She then nibbled his ear.
Not wanting to lose the moment he picked her up and kissed her. She pointed to an area nearby with bushes forming a near perfect circle with a semi roof like a natural hut. He carried her inside and set her down. She reached into her pack and laid the blanket on the ground as he took their bows and quivers and set them safely near the edge. They then ravaged each other until exhaustion took them and they fell asleep in each others arms inside the relative canopy of the bushes. At one point their cries of passion scared a flock of small birds that were resting in the trees overhead. They woke to voices talking nearby. It was Alistair and Morrigan walking in the woods discussing something they could not quite make out, but the tone of their voices was not pleasant. Apparently the two were arguing about something. The couple looked at each other and began getting dressed as the voices got closer. Finally they got close enough that Dan and Leliana could make out what the argument was about.
“I said we don’t have the time,” Alistair said.
“I say we do. We have been cooped up here in the woods for several days now, and I need this done. I cannot do it.” Morrigan was clearly agitated.
“What goes on between your mother and you does not concern me.”
“Oh but it does, Alistair, it most certainly does.”
The two stopped just outside the bushes concealing Dan and Leliana. They tried to peak through the bushes without being seen by the two arguing.
“I fail to see how Flemeth, who is way down south in the Korcari Wilds, can have any effect on our current dilemma. We need to get to Redcliffe with these Ashes as soon as possible.”
“The Arl can wait,” Morrigan began, “I need this done right away.”
“You’re not even sure she can do that. Just because that stupid book…”
“Fool, this book contains more wisdom and knowledge than most in the whole of the Circle Tower. This book details…”
“I know,” Alistair broke in, “how she feeds off the living prolonging her life…blah, blah, blah.”
Dan and Leliana looked at each other when they heard the slap.
“Ow!” Alistair cried out.
“That’s my life she will be feeding off of! I will not wait around for her to take over my body! I will not!”
“Well I say you are overreacting. Why would she send you with us, possibly to get killed, if she needed your body to sustain her lifespan? It’s ludicrous.”
“Ludic…templar fools like you think they know about magic. Circle mages think they know about magic. Let me tell you one thing…none of you know anything about magic. There is old magic…forgotten magic…that still exists in this world if you know where to look for it. Flemeth knows about magic…old, forgotten magic…knows it well…more than you ever imagined.” She was silent for a moment. “I should have gone to Dan with this. If he were not so occupied with that…that…that girl. I honestly don’t understand what he sees in her anyway.”
Dan turned to look at Leliana as she stood up, and he noticed they had only gotten their pants on. She was standing up topless. He quickly got up behind her and reached around to cover her breasts with his hands. She didn’t hesitate.
“Look here, Morrigan,” she said startling Alistair and Morrigan. Dan stood behind her and smiled with a nod. “What he does with me is no concern of yours.”
“Maker’s Breath! Are you…are you naked?” Alistair asked. The bushes came up only to the middle of her stomach.
“Am I…” she looked down and finally saw she was only covered by Dan’s hands. She quickly ducked back down under the bushes leaving Dan just smiling. He tried to look around and avoid eye contact with either standing in front of him.
“Leliana, by Flemeth’s beard you had better not be doing to him what I think you are doing to him,” Morrigan huffed.
“I am getting my shirt on,” she replied.
“So…um…fancy seeing you two here…in the woods…right now,” Dan stammered trying to change the conversation. He didn’t even look down at the shirt Leliana thrust up to him. He just grabbed it and casually put it on.
“So you two were…you know?” Alistair sheepishly grinned and raised his eyebrows. Morrigan gave him a backhanded slap to the shoulder. “Ow! That’s twice now.”
“Of course they were, fool,” Morrigan stated angrily. She looked at Dan. “Just how much of our conversation did you hear?”
“Something about Flemeth and sucking…”
“That was feeding,” Alistair interrupted only to get slapped again. “Look here, Morrigan…STOP THAT!”
“Don’t be a baby,” she told him as Leliana stood back up in front of Dan fully clothed. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she wrapped her arms his. Morrigan just rolled her eyes at the couple. “To the point…I need you to return to the Korcari Wilds and confront Flemeth, and slay her…if that is possible. Alistair refuses to do it.”
“What makes you so sure that she can possess you, Morrigan?” Leliana asked.
“Because that is what her gremoire entails. It’s the details of all the rituals and necessary steps needed to take over the bodies of the various ‘daughters’ she has raised in her unnatural lifetime. I am to be her next host.”
“But this isn’t something she can do right now…at this very moment…correct?” Dan asked.
“Well…no…but the sooner it is taken care of the sooner my mind can be at ease,” the witch replied.
“So we can do that after we take the Ashes to Redcliffe,” Dan stated. “That is really our first priority.”
“See, what did I tell you?” Alistair boasted to Morrigan. She slapped him again.
“I promise you,” Dan continued, “After we heal the Arl then we’ll deal with Flemeth. Ok?”
Morrigan simply nodded, and then turned around and walked back to the camp in a huff. Alistair looked at the couple and shrugged his shoulders.
“Sorry about the…um…intrusion. We weren’t looking for you, honest,” he said and then turned to follow the witch.
Leliana leaned back into Dan and exhaled deeply. “I hate that woman.”
“’Hate’ is a strong word…isn’t it?” Dan asked hugging her tighter.
“No…I really do hate her right now,” Leliana stated frankly. “Sometimes she just says the wrong thing, or does the wrong thing, or simply does not care about other people.”
“You don’t really hate her, though, right?” he asked.
“I guess not,” she replied and kissed him. “But when she says things about us…like she did before…I really hate her.”
“Just ignore her when she says things like that,” Dan offered.
“Just ignore her? You can really do that?”
“I ignore her most of the time,” Dan replied with a smile. “I really don’t care what anyone thinks about us…except you. Your opinion about us is the only one that matters to me.”
“Hmmmm…I like that,” she kissed him again. “Now where were we?”

@Rage loooove your fill! It was a fun read!
Here's my fill! Enjoy!
_____________________
“What are you reading?”
Brenna quickly slammed the book closed in her lap and then threw her skirt over the top of it. “Nothing.” She said quickly. Alistair’s eyes were on her lap, and then they traveled to her own and filled with suspicion. “Right. Nothing. Yes, I can see that.” He sat down next to her and his eyes went to her lap again.
He leaned forward, until his face was inches from hers and his hand worked its way from her knee to her thigh and then dangerously close to the book. “Really, what are you reading?” he said. Brenna swatted his hand away and folded the book more tightly into her dress with stiff, defensive gestures. “Look, it’s nothing, alright? Why do you want to know?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Because you’re being so suspicious.”
“It’s a list of my other men, if you must know, and I quite like you not knowing about them.”
Alistair rolled his eyes. “I see. You need a whole book for that, huh?”
Brenna grinned. “I’m quite popular.”
She was, more than she knew. Alistair still wasn’t able to stop himself from tensing every time some other man stared at her. He grinned. “I definitely want this list then. I might have to go beat some of them up.”
“Ooooh my knight in shining armor, come to protect my virtue?” She raised an eyebrow and looked thoughtful. “Or what’s left of it, anyway.”
His fingers played with his beard and he screwed up his face, appearing to think very hard about something. “I think I know how I can get that book from you.” This was said softly, a hint of a threat in his voice. Brenna picked up on it immediately and glared at him. “You better not,” she breathed.
Alistair’s grin was huge, and then he let out a perfectly evil laugh. His hands travelled from her lap to her stomach and then stopped there. Brenna felt every part of her tense and she grabbed his wrists and pulled them away from her. “You better not–”
But the blasted man was strong, and his hands were back at the sides of her stomach with little effort where he worked his fingers. Brenna fell back to the floor, spasming and laughing and clawing at his hands. He let out that evil laugh again and grabbed her around the waist and hoisted her into his lap where he continued his torture. Brenna squirmed. “No! No, no, no, no! Stop, stop!” He didn’t even pause. “You are such a bastard.”
Alistair rolled his eyes. “You know, we have to work on your vocabulary.” He moved his hands lower, until he was almost to her hips. “If it’s true, then it’s not really an insult, love.”
She shook her head. “I hate you.” She gasped and tried to squirm her way out of his lap. He used one hand to grip her hip while the other continued its torment.
“You’ve said that a few times.”
“Well that’s because I mean it.”
“Of course you do.”
His fingers stopped and he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her up, towards him. When he leaned down to kiss her, Brenna twisted her face away and pushed her arms against his chest. “What? You think I’m going to kiss you after you just tickled me?”
Alistair grinned wickedly and started his fingers up again. Brenna shrieked and squirmed in his lap again. “Alright, alright, I’ll kiss you! Just stop!”
He chuckled and stopped tickling her. “Putty in my hands,” he muttered under his breath. Brenna glared at him. “I still hate you,” she said weakly. Alistair leaned down and kissed her, but he was grinning all the while. “Mmmhmmm,” he mumbled against her mouth.
When she pulled away from him he said, “You keep saying that enough and I might just start thinking you feel the opposite.” She flushed and averted her eyes. “I’ll have to check first with my other men before I answer that. They’re very touchy about these things you know.”
She grinned when his arms tightened around her and drew her up closer to his face again. “You should let them know I’m pretty touchy myself.”
“Should I now?”
He kissed her again. “I’m a selfish man.”
“Oh, really?”
“Mmmhmmm, I’m not very good at sharing.”
“Oooooh is my knight in shining armor getting a bit green-eyed?”
His grin widened. “Maybe.”
“Well, you do have some stiff competition. You know, men who don’t tickle me to get what they want.” She glared at him when he threw back his head and laughed. “Oh, but it’s so much fun.”
“For you,” she muttered. Brenna sat up in his lap and threw her arms around his neck and kissed him again.
The sound of feet approaching the tent stopped it from going any further. “Food is ready,” came Leliana’s voice from outside. Alistair looked to the tent flap and then back to her, clearly torn between kissing her and the prospect of food – especially good food since it was Leliana’s night to cook. Brenna chuckled and shook her head. “Go eat, you starving man.”
When he had exited the tent Brenna picked the book back up and hugged it to her chest. And then carefully put it in her pack with a soft giggle.

Yes, Alistair is a college football fan:

A little horror that Alistair missed:

Which made him laugh...or something else I'm not quite sure:

But Dan and Leliana talked about it:

And the villagers rejoiced:

Also, is Dan's favorite team Oregon State?
Also, who's doin' the flashin'? (can't tell from the pic) It's not Flemeth, is it?
