Happy new year, everyone. Also *glomps* tklivory...I missed you How are you doing? =)

And thanks for the answers all. I settled now for the Chantry in/outside/ close to Denerim. Denerim is huuuge (as shown in the concept art,) so Alistair won't get close to the palace...or the city itself. At least not often. I imagine the Chantry having its own huge courtyard that is secluded from anything else and outside of the city itself, perhaps. I know that these are things not important for the average gamer and hence BW (Gaider) never specify it, but to me writing a story it would be nice to know where Alistair has spent the past ten years. Lol.

Also I have played DA lately and it is always amazing how I still discover something new. Even after the whole time. Travelling from Flemeth Hut toward the Breciallian (sp?) Forest I had a random encounter with shade demons...but the lulzy part was the bloodied note I have discovered by a body there. "If only we'd have taken the flying eagles." Lulz LotR reference FTW xD Or Shale's comment toward Athras (the guy which wife has turned into a werewolf) ...I have never heard that before, either. Awesome

I've missed you guys too!  Every year I tell myself this December won't be as bad as last December, and then it is *worse*.  Aargh!  *shakes tiny fist at the cold that started it all*   Grrrr...   And then there's the year-end budget-ordering shenanigans at work too...

Not sure when I'll be at full 'force' around here, but hopefully the year-end shenanigans will die-down soon.

I have a storyline question, and while not directly related to Alistair, it's still relevant. I've seen in the wiki that Maric was lost at sea/presumed dead. From where does this come? I don't recall seeing this in the game nor in the books.

IIRC the initial reveal was made in a forum post by Mr Gaider (link is in the wiki entry, I think). The codex entry for King Maric's Helm from the second DA2 Item pack DLC fleshes out the story with some additional details (traveling to Wycombe, 9:25 Dragon, Loghain expending both treasury and navy in search, etc.)

That should hold you until the inevitable someone smarter than me comes along (i.e., just about anyone else).

No problem, BevH! The wiki entry really should have a link to that codex text, since it is (AFAIK) the primary (if not sole) source for most of the info.

I remember when the comic was first announced, and there was speculation that Alistair would be going to Antiva to search for Maric or further proof of Maric's body...

EDIT: the *new* comic, the one with Alistair, Isabela, and Varric.  Just for clarification...

Yeah, me too, although the official blurb that came out once the speculation had reached a frenzy simply says that a Witch of the Wilds (not Morrigan or Flemeth, apparently) will be involved, and that a dragon will also be in the mix.  As I said, Maric's appearance is complete speculation.  *hmph*  Should be interesting on the boards come February/March...

I wish male characters had romance options half as fun as Alistair. I made a female char just to romance him. Males are stuck with either waking up with a mauled back and perhaps a real coyote in the bedroll or a sacharine sunday school teacher who likes to shoplift and might raid your bankroll for one or twelve new pairs of shoes. Alistair is hilarious; "Oh, thank you. Feeling a little thorny are we?" LOL.

@ FallTooDovahkiin - all we know at this point (i think, anyway) about the new comic is that it takes place ten years after the Fifth Blight

@ Bjond and Tryynity - I do wuv his lines so much (aside from the obvious ones that everyone knows). I don't know what my *favorite* line is, but up there would definitely be the whole 'raised by dogs' conversation. I've always gotten a chuckle not just about those lines, but about the fact that talking to him about being raised by dogs actually rates you a *higher* approval bonus than being straightforward nice to him. Gotta love it.

RDT (Ritual Decapitation Tuesday) - screenies of your characters decapitating enemies

Ummm... Wacky Wednesday if we want to keep it?  (At least it's alliterative... heh)

Smut Thursday - Yup, just what the title says... although still BSN friendly, of course (psst, cover up the naughty bits)

And then Saturday, we have prompts where someone suggests a theme, and we come up with art, stories, or papier mache to reflect the theme.  This knda died down in the holidays, but it should start up again this Saturday as everyone gets back into the groove of things.
