I have to admit that Ambra's screenshots are the most important reason for me to look into this thread from time to time. They're simply awesome.

About Alistair/Morrigan
I once read a story with that romance part of it. It concentrated on Alistair's sense of duty which is the driving force for him to defend everyone, even Morrigan. The breaking point in the story was that Morrigan is dragged away by darkspawn in the deep roads, the very worst fate possible for her. Alistair rescued her and in that moment she allowed herself a weak moment.

And i really support Klidi's opinion about Al/Morr making much more sense than Al/Lel (even if i integrated just that romance in my main story, but Morrigan was already in a relationship with my hero so i had no other choice)

About DR
I like the scene in which you have to convince Alistair to do the DR. How much information are you giving away in that moment?
And even more i like stories about how they handle the whole matter afterwards? How does he react to his romanced warden if he had time to think about it? Will it threaten the romance? What if the warden rejects the DR but Alistair agrees secretly (unfortunately only possible in stories and not in the game).

 This cracked me up! I love this picture of him.

I've been trying to get through DA2, and am desperately missing Alistair and my other favorite party members from Origins. DA2 feels so... lonely. I think I may need to start up another Origins game first, talk to Alistair and Morrigan a bit.

In response to the DR. I never had a problem with it. *shrugs* It's an hour (at most) between two people that are approaching it as a necessary, albeit, disturbing event. And it saves a life. But then I always liked the idea of an old god baby. I think he'll be good for Thedas in the long run.

I loved it! Well we know now who Alistair was looking for - at least at first? It was definitely not who I was expecting to say the least! I love the snarky humor (Isabela: did he just call me fat?" hahahhahaha)

I knew he was alive. I didn't think he would be in Antiva though. I thought that the snarkyness would be obnoxious for some reason, but its been well done. I think I thought there would be a joke in every frame haha.

I'm really loving the comic thus far but I have to say - what's up with his blue eyes?  <_< I'm ignoring it pretty much, but easy for me to say maybe; I'm only reading it for the story and the artwork is a distant second. Still is bugging me.  :?

Oh and should I avoid posting spoilers? Doesn't seem like anyone else is really reading these forums anymore so it probably doesn't matter if I post them but I figured I'd give someone the chance to protest before I did.

I noticed that too, especially in the last panels. I think they're trying to make him look more Theirin-y.

I can't speak for everyone, but as for me... BRING ON THE SPOILERS!!!

Personally, I've always been a bit confused by the fact that Alistair didn't have blue eyes. I learned in biology class that blue eyes are dominant, so even if Alistair's mother didn't have blue eyes, Maric did, and therefore, Alistair should have blue eyes. *shrugs*

Eye color is very interesting. I believe brown is actually the dominant, and blue is recessive. But recent discoveries have been talking about how it is not as cut and dry as dominant/recessive anymore. There actually is a blending that occurs. I've always been fascinated by eye color. And how it is possible for some eye colors to change while aging.

I couldn't imagine Alistair with blue eyes. Amber is such a beautiful and unique color. I've only known one person with a similar eye color to Alistair's and it is amazing.

Ah spoilers... Well Alistair and Isabela seem to have a thing, or had a thing going... He's very gallant towards her and she expects him to confide in her when Varric is out of the way for a while and loses her temper when he doesn't... They could just be BFs.

BTW on the cover art there were comments that Isabela was looking 'pale' but in the comic she's clearly black which I personally find great... 'Nuff said about that though.

Isabela better keep her hands to herself, or I'm feeding her to the Arishok, muahahhaa. Even though the comic comes after that point in the game, damn it.

It's not so much even biology class I learned that in. My daughter married a man with brown eyes, and they have a daughter... with very large BLUE eyes... Posted Image

That just means that your son in law is probably Bb, meaning he has brown eyes (B), but he carries the recessive blue eye trait. (B).

      B  b
B  BB Bb
b  Bb bb

When you mix them together, even two brown eyed people (with the recessive trait) have a 25% chance of having a child with blue eyes.  But it probably isn't as difinitive anymore like some mentioned the blending of traits or whatever.

ETA:
So, if Fiona was Alistair's mom, she is either Bb or BB, and his dad is bb, that means that either a. he will have brown eyes no matter what or b. have a 50/50 chance between brown and blue.  Either way his kids would probably have some blue Therin eyes.

And I don't remember how green eyes work lol.

Hmmmm I think the jury's still out, at least for me. They do know each other but it doesn't come across as... intimate to me. Yeah she expects him to confide in what they are going after in the first place but that seems normal given that they are helping him get it - and risking their lives for it - and she jokes around that she'll be able to swim in the amount of money and jewels he'll give her for helping him which doesn't come across as intimate to me. He puts his cloak on her but that seems like an Alistair the gentleman thing rather than this was my lover thing (at least it seemed that way to me). I guess I just wasn't getting the feel that they were or are lovers. If they were lovers, they're very casual with each other now (after all, Alistair can sleep with her in Origins).

I think her losing her temper was more what she says: that he used to be fun and joke around more and be less serious and what she says about him sending an army over here instead of coming himself is practical - he's King obviously (and with out a heir) and risking himself like this is not the smartest thing to do.

I was thinking more of Maric, who I think that is (and he's probably referring to the fact that he's been in there for so long that he's not himself?) I don't know! But I really think that's him (the "flash of recognition" is what keeps me believing that) and that Maric will obviously be able to tell Alistair who his mother is. That's my theory anyway!

Also - I've been wondering if those blades he uses are Duncan's blades at all? Since when is Alistair a dual blader - right? That's what I was thinking. And since we know that Duncan's blades have some affect on the Taint... maybe that will come into play? I'm probably reading too much into it... :pinched:

According to the toolset Alistair's eyes are supposed to be hazel. I thought there was something about eye colors blending or something? I don't know... I'm not the best at this kind of thing.

Either way the blue eyes he's got in the comic are bugging me :?

Ugh...true that. I mean blue eyes? Seriously? D: Ever looked at vanilla game screenshots, Mr.Artist? And then there is his near orange hair. Ugh. I haven't read it so far but the art is --considering what I have seen of (some) fanart-artists drawing Alistair -- subpar and not appealing in comparison. Solid at best.

I come out in its favour. I like it. The scripting and the art too. I would dispute it's subpar, it looks rather magnificent IMHO, but of course this is just a matter of taste.

Yeah he has blue eyes, I tend to think the orange hair is more lighting... Artist's licence. After his depiction in DA2, it's actually a relief.

As I said, he and Izzy may just be BFs after all they have in common that they were both unloved as children...

Ya know, I was thinking the same thing - that the orange hair might just be lighting or something. I agree though - I really like the comic and small annoyances aside am really looking forward to more of it! I love Alistair in here, the plot is interesting and the comic is definitely worth the 99 cent per issue. The art matters a lot less to me than the plot itself. I have seen better art in comics before but I think the art in this comic is fine. But this is, as you say, a matter of taste and I think what is the focus, which for me is the plot, Alistair and the scripting (the banter in it has been awesome thus far) - not necessarily in that order .

Just letting anyone who cares know - I uploaded my Alistair morph (along with my Leliana and Morrigan morphs) onto DANexus for anyone liked what I did with him and wanted to use it. It's a vanilla Alistair with updated skin and eye textures (I used Dracomie's true hazel eye texture) and added some 5 o'clock shadow. I can upload a non-5 o'clock shadow one though if someone wants that as well (it's not hard to do!) ^_^

Maybe I'm just spoiled by elfkin (also a pro-artist with the love for fanart) whose comic art look like that and the cover art like that. Ah well...:bandit:

She also did this wonderful and stunning Alistair/Lenya pic for me which bears repeating:

Wow! Elfkin you say? Lass has a future.

But ya know her comic strip art resembles that of the Silent Grove... If I were her I'd be sending a dossier to Black Horse...
