Has anyone read issue #3 of Silent Grove yet? I really wanted to hug him in this one. Poor guy.
Yeah. I agree poor thing! This is a good one, the plot thickens! I'm excited for the next one now, especially since DG said the next one was his favorite!
And just because there's a marked lack of them -

Is it off- topic to speculate on Alistairs role in DragonAge3? What should his role be?
Sure! Go right ahead!

The endings for Alistair at the end of DA:O (and carried over to DA2) were:
1) dead (boo hiss)
2) King alone
3) King w/ Anora
4) King w/F!Cousland
5) Grey Warden
TBH, I *expect* to see him either having a cameo role (much as he did in DA2) or a mention at best, simply because that's a lot of story-writing to work with, assuming the flags get imported correctly *cough cough* from prior saved games. I would also expect the timing of the game to definitely occur after the Silent Grove/Asunder timelines, so that means Alistair will be even older. If he's King, it'd be cool to see a reference to his childlessness and a possible civil unrest in Ferelden due to the lack of heir (ditto for Anora as solo queen, honestly). If he's a Warden, probably not much of a mention would be made simply because the Wardens probably won't have a big role in DA3 *unless* it's a Blight (again) or OGB is important. And if he's dead... well... yeah...
With that all said, I would absolutely love to see him in DA3, but his appearance therein has the potential to muck with people's personal canon as much as if not more than, say, Silent Grove, which mandates a King Alistair (from DG's personal canon). Given the flack aimed at BW over a certain recent game, I can only hope that BW will work to try to make DA3 reflect the player's choices from the previous games into account, which complicates Alistair's reappearance tremendously, so... yeah...
TL;DR: I'd love to see him, but don't expect to, and wouldn't want to see him if it's poorly done.

My thoughts on this are rather mixed. I think I read somewhere that the "canon" ending was that Alistair was solo king with the warden having died at Fort Drakon (i.e. the DR was never done).
In order to have another cameo for Alistair in DA3, the import would, once again, have to come from DA:O and that worked out *so* well for DA2. Would I love to see him again? Heck yeah! But I believe all that we can hope for, at this point, is a mention of him. There are just too many variables, even more than there was for DA2.

I forgot about him being older but it might be just ten years older. right? I was thinking of a bigger role than a cameo.
At the time Varric is being questioned by Cassandra, 10 years have passed since the beginning of the 5th Blight. Assuming that DA3 will pick up after the events of DA2, it would be at least 10 years if not more. If it picks up after the events of Asunder, then we're probably looking at more like 11-12 years later, at least.

No one likes the dead Alistair ending anyway. You only do that by accident. Right? People wouldn't mind bringing Alistair back.
Mind?? I think MOST people that played DA:O absolutley want to see him back

My first finished game was the UtimateSacrifice which i loved, but after that I always do the Dark Ritual so I completely forgot he could die. I demand a Retcon. What does Retcon come from anyway?
Retcon = retroactive continuity.
Although I see a Mulligan being more appropriate for games where Alistair's death occurs.
And Alistair actually can die in two ways: either through the WC ending (Warden Commander, where he kills the Archdemon because he's still in love with you or because he sees it to be his duty as King, or whatever), or by being executed if you allow Anora to do so. I don't imagine that latter being too popular in this thread, o' course.
It should be interesting to see how DA3 shapes up after the flack BW got from the Game That Cannot Be Named (or at least the ending that can't). There's even more player choices in Dragon Age than Mass Effect (the way I see it) that need to be resolved (like OGB, or Alistair's status at the end of the game, or the mage/templar war) not to mention the fact Hawke disappears and whatnot. Should be iiiinteresting.

I think my most disturbing ending for DA2 came when I used my US ending. Cassandra still says of Hawke that she's "gone, just like the Warden."

I have a question about Guys and Morrigan. Do you think they lack in Judgment when they like her or do you understand it? Isn't her character a little questionable? I think Leliana is better in that regard or is Leliana a friend who is a girl? Is her leather armor less appealing than morrigans? I guess I should ask men about that.
I love Morrigan. I totally get it. I love Leliana too - I find it hard to compare them in a "who is better" sort of way. Morrigan is smart and complex. Yes, she has issues dealing with her emotions (much like Zev does) but that doesn't mean she doesn't have any. By the end of the game Morrigan was calling me her sister and was willing to sacrifice quite a lot - she is even disappointed when you don't bring her to fight the archdemon. As far as who is the better friend, I think they are pretty much on par. The only difference is that Leliana pretty much always falls in love with the warden, even if you never flirt with her (I always get this sad speech from her when I marry Alistair and this is even if I never kissed the girl) whereas Morrigan obviously doesn't have those feelings for a fem Warden.
As far as whose armor is more appealing? Well, don't they have the exact same body model? Morrigan is just showing more skin. What I really think it comes down to is whether or not you like sassy brunettes with a fierce temper or sweet redheads who will sing you a song.

What alignment would Leliana be?

You can argue that Morrigan's D&D alignment is chaotic evil. She isn't lawful and I'd say she's chaotic. She leans toward evil but is probably neutral. So chaotic neutral?
What alignment would Leliana be?
There actually have been a ton of discussions around this (Google "Dragon Age alignment"). Lots of people say Morrigan is either Chaotic Evil or Chaotic Neutral. I would say this one is closest to my own feelings on the matter (I don't see Morrigan as truly evil, just really self-absorbed). Most people seem to put Leliana in the Lawful Netural category because of her past and the fact that she can kind of go one way or the other.
